His voice is unique. You can find many videos of his concerts to listen to him live! Songs like Protrggiti da me, Luce, Hola, Una Canzone Triste, Buona Vita, No Stress... can make you understand how versatile his voice is. He can sing everything!

Sanremo is divided in 5 night, he didn't won (yet 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤘🤘🤘) but yes he was amazing. He was the first at 3th night.
Mengoni performed this song with soul and passion he is gem with great vocal range.. But I don't think Italy wins again for quite a few editions it usually happens like this but he deserves to win Sanremo However it goes to Esc😌❤️

Basically, it's a dialog with himself. His conscious and rational part talking to the unconscious part. One is represented by the night, were he dreams and goes out and where he lies on the floor and shouts from rooftops and wears metallic shirts or costumes. The other one by the one who has to drink coffee with lemon against the hangover and has flowers in the room (he likes gardening very much).
Maybe you do not know his history. He was very shy and introverted as a child and even at the beginning of his career. He once said that he didn't take a taxi until he was 25 because he was afraid to talk to a unknown person at the phone to order one. He then made some allusions of being gender fluid (nothing is confirmed and I do not know or even care) and he had overweight as a teen and he has been in therapy for some years. He still doesn't speak about his sexual orientation or his relationships. I only tell this, because it's what he said in interviews. That this song is the result of the journey he made to conquer some fears and to know himself better. Clothes are apparently important for him to show who he is. He said that, it's not an interpretation.
So: the song starts with the rational part saying to the other: Sometimes I loose you, I don't know where you are but sometimes I catch you.
And then the conversation starts. Sometimes it's only snippets representing one part, sometimes it's a dialog.
But: he also said, art is about interpretation and every piece of art means something different to different people. So you can understand it the way you want
