  • You don't have to be heading on a two-week trek through the uncharted wilderness to find the new PRO TREK PRG340 outdoor watch a great device on your wrist! Between its newly redesigned compass to barometer, altitude, temperature, timers, world time, and more, it's a very useful addition to any wrist. Better yet, if you're seeking to unplug from your tech, it's also a non-smartwatch, with no Bluetooth, no 5G, no wifi. No phone needed! Feature tour and review by watch aficionado Dave Taylor.

    Just like the prw 3500-1 you can see the time on it without wearing my glasses which I think it's a plus Casio needs to make big watches with big numbers on it which I think is great Casio stepping up your game 👍

    So just different colors than? Also is it the Climber model. I have the Casio Pathfinder from 2008. It finally broke & tried calling Casio and they told me they don't make that anymore. So I need another one for 2023 & this looks like the one I need. ⌚ & like my Pathfinder, does the face display go to sleep or turn off to save battery life?

    good video, brief comment, when you actuate the baro/compass/altimeter function it would be helpful if you had used your other hand so you don't obscure the face.

    I hope the build quality is as good as the PRW3500 which has blown me away being my first Protrek.

    I have this watch, but altimeter is not stable, for example I correct it, as 30 m, next day at the same place it shows -25 m, sometimes 55 m, does anybody have same? and how did you solve?

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  Před 7 měsíci

      Having tried altimeters in a variety of watches and living at 5200+ foot elevation, I have concluded that it's the technology that's just not 100%. I could be wrong, but I find them all to be within 20'-30' feet of a marked altitude, especially when I'm up in the Rocky Mountains (with max easily accessible elevation of over 11,000')

      Lucky there are thousands of different watch styles out there so you can find one you like too. Are you more into analog than digital?
