Never lend luxury products to your friends unless you know that they can (and are willing to) replace them if something happens to them. I gave a pair of lux sunnies to a friend and I never saw them again. I think someone stole a bunch of stuff I'd left at her place along with the sunnies, thinking it was safe. But who knows what actually happened? People be greedy and jealous. She never even offered to replace them, claims she doesn't know what happened to the sunnies and the stuff that was stolen. Those were gifts from my parents and I think the first luxury purchase I'd made. Like Dacob says gatekeep your happiness and if your happiness lies in lux goods gatekeep them too.
100%!!! I left a friend my cherished vintage Dior coat. First she got makeup on it and was supposed to send it to the dry cleaners then she said she "lost it". Needless to say I found out that she was actually a frenemy.
@@wendyclcl - that’s my biggest fear. Whenever I give my mother a designer item I always tell her not to lend it to anyone because of that very fact. Even when I have my designer glasses turned into eye glasses I always take a photo of the serial number just in case they swap it for a fake 🥴

So Hermes is crazy and makes its costumers crazy with the whole "journey" but I have to gie it to them - their costumer service and post-sale care seems superb.
Lowkey if I had a 25 with that type of damage I would have asked the leather repair guy to extend the handle a few inches. I know that would be "altering" the originally design intent made by Hermes, but I keep hearing about how if only the size of that loop was bigger it would instantly be a much more every day / every occasion bag. Lots of customers mention they feel like the difficulty/limited ability to carry it constrains them in wearing it more often.
The photo itself made my heart sink. This exact situation has happened to me before, albeit when I was much younger with a less expensive bag. I’m glad I learned the lesson far in advance of having nicer bags. I can’t imagine having this situation happen to me with any expensive bag, let alone a birkin. I would just faint to be honest….
This is what happens when you don’t raise your children, you don’t discipline them and you let them do whatever and then make excuses for them. I would have never as a child. No one in my family. But the people upstairs, those kids are like wild wolves. It’s all about parenting and so many people don’t do that anymore.

That's a story just went a step too far for me. That bag is a money spinner and a story spinner if nothing else...a masterful effort at getting eyeballs and traction. JIMO
