Hey KTC, nice video! But on that large lever that you don't like (@6:21), you're not using in correctly! The handle portion is spring loaded and adjustable for use where clearance angles are limited. Lift vertically up on the handle and you can rotate it separate from the threaded part. This let's you orient the handle portion in whatever direction works best for any setup. It's hard to explain, but once you try, you'll see how nice it is! I've been mulling over metal cutting saws between 7x12 in horizontal bandsaw ($800-$1200) vs. chop saw (DeWalt 872). Saw some random comment on a DeWalt 872 review video that said "Fein Slugger is way better." I'm a skeptic in all things, but I'd never heard of it. So now 1 hour and 5 review videos later here I am with your video. Appreciate your enthusiasm and all the cuts you made. Bottom line for me is probably the Fein Slugger. It's still cheaper than the 7x12 bandsaw (even with 25% off a Harbor Freight crapshoot model). And it looks like the base and clamp are sturdier than on the DeWalt.
If you ended going with the Fein over the dewalt I think you made the right decision. I have the Dewalt (dont think the Fein was out when I got mine) and wish I had the Fein for the reasons you mention. Although I haven't actually seen one in person the Fein looks way more sturdy and well built. Also the mitering mechanism for the dewalt is pretty much garbage and looks to be way better set up on the Fein.
*@**4:55** is there an advantage to cutting the barstock with long side vertical vs long side flat? Blade gets 20 degrees hotter when I cut vertical is why I ask.*
I just got one been using metal blades for years. Only thing I don’t like about them is cutting off thin slices. I was just taking enough off of a 2”x2” square tubbing and once it cut through it grabbed the piece and brought it up inside jamming the blade. Other then that it’s the best most well built chop saw I’ve ever used. And having a cast bottom makes for a long lasting true cut.
Looks to me exactly the same as Evolution. And I’ve seen some more brands selling the same looking models as well. Wondering if there is any difference in build quality. As my 6 years old Evolution is terrible. Especially the wise is very inaccurate.

I was so impressed, but being a kid, and that fact that it was pretty expensive, I did not ask for one for Christmas. Now I can afford to buy my own. Fortunately other companies manufacture that type of tool now, so I went with the Ridgid brand. Yes Fein makes great industrial grade tools and you can't go wrong with that brand at all. Well worth the money if you can afford it. Nice review. BTW you can see the Fein infomercial here on CZcams. It is very well produced, and makes you want to go out and get one! Take care.
As an unhappy owner of the Evolution RAGE 3 DB, I would have to say that the Fein product is far superior. I have the Fein Multimaster Oscillating Multi-tool and I am VERY satisfied with it. I have MANY tools and the Fein Multimaster has lasted many years already with zero failures of any sort. The Evolution RAGE on the other hand, failed after the first few uses. I take very good care of all of my tools, but the thing literally just stopped working out of the blue during a normal cut of 2-inch square tubing.
Fein were the very first company in the world to make a hand held electric drill, their products are very good but as yet I haven't bought this saw. The JEI saw is almost if not identical and probably from the same factory?

Well the fein is definitely an industrial machine The evolution is slightly more home shop built This fein has now made thousands of cuts for me Same blade same saw It’s about a hundred dollars more I think You won’t miss that hundred dollars when this fein is still running ten years from now Buy once cry once haha Get the fein Thanks for watching
is it safe for a female? i will have to make my own steel table. i checked it out on e-bay, i hope it will be what i need for metal art sculping, as a hoppy. do you think its too harsh for acrylic cutting? i just want to create my dreams. thank you
Chris MCmahan it throws chips around the saw but they aren’t airborn as in breath them in It does throw some chips around though I would say pretty significantly Easy to sweep up. I use my saw dust vac and suck them up
A Bouillet not sure. I think Taiwan but might be wrong Taiwan stuff is not too bad This saw is built like a anchor. It’s awesome. I’ve made thousands of cuts Highly recommend it
Nothing against the machine! But Fein (German company) doesn't sell or produce those things in Germany. So I think this is some ugly rebranding? They don't do circular cuttings. If you buy "their" products, most of them is still produced in Germany, as far as I know

Best chop saw I've ever used, I'm a field welder and I've had the same one for 5 years... 1000% percent worth the investment.
I was up in arms between the Makita Lc1320 and this fein slugger. Im also a welder. You still stand by the fein? I need accurate mitre cuts

That’s a spring loaded lift lever for the fence. You don’t have to do it bit by bit. Great video 👍

you can't compare this saw to evolution rage because this cost 2.5 times more than evolution

On adjusting your fence angle, are you sure that lever doesn't lift/pull up so you can adjust it position on the nut to tighten it down?

Rplace the fence clamp with a custom welded T handle. Replace the chain with a heavy chain.
