I don't even fly fish I'm just here for the sarcasm.
My favorite is the editing.
I basically snort-laughed when he threw up the football graphic for "Scandinavia seems cool" and I don't even know why. it was just so fucking random
Hi, Ben. I’m the guy from Japan holding a salmon at 5:08. Love your video and the sarcasm 😂 Please let me know when you stop by Japan, will take you to nice fly fishing places.
Thanks! Nice fish!
Nice that you gave us a mention down here on the southern tip of Africa. We have every kind of weirdo flyfishing for all sorts of fish.
That picture of Salt Lake City when he says Calgary, ha!
I’m a BC born and raised Steelheader who moved to the lower South Island NZ 4 years ago. I can’t wait for you to come down here and fish. Totally different ball game down here and I’ll admit , it took me 2 seasons to fully adjust :) stay huge. Oh and yes, Brian Chan IS a god to us looool
Ben's never faked a Sarcasm in his life
I love the Dave Jensen reference. He’s the Kelly Galloup of Alberta. And he even caught that on a Wooly Bugger
A good drinking game is to watch Brian Chan and do a shot every time he says chironomid.
😂😂😂😂
Do you usually make it to the end of the video? 🤣
@@OwenWilliamsPhD No. Obviously it was mentioned?
@@tomhh9161 I mean after that many shots
@@OwenWilliamsPhD Gotcha... i thought i was joke stealing... Ha!
Your domestic and international stereotypes crack me up. Brought my fly rod on a trip to Southeast Asia back in the late 90s. Didn't see too many bait, lure, or fly fishermen in the jungles of Thailand, Laos, or Vietnam, but we did see a guy on a river using dynamite. It was obvious the guy hadn't heard of nymphing before. ;)
Hay Ben. Great video. I agree on your last comment on choosing which hand to real (i.e., as soon as I get a reel I reverse it to right handed). However, when I went to AK this summer switch them back to lefty because the rainbows were huge! Keep up the "no rules" mantra.
The loch pronunciation got me🤣 was hoping you’d burn us saffas a bit harder, but just greatful for the mention. Thanks for a good laugh
I have been to many of these places and your perception is right on , Your pronunciation of Loch is spot on . I’ve found When with a Scottish gillie just nod your head when he talks to you because you won’t understand a word the first day , but with each new beat comes another dram of Scotch and remember there professionals. As always stay Hugh. Thanks for the video
An exchange student from Germany joined our California club for a year, and she simply could not believe that you could simply park by the side of the Sierra stream, walk down the path and start to fish. Totally pay-to-play in every square inch of Europe.
Except East-Germany ;)
Austria is even worse! $175 for a day is just insane!
not the netherland, 35 euro a year for the license and you can fish basically any water in the country. loads of people fishing in city centres etc
Totally not pay-to-play in most of Europe
Love the A. Wiebe and TroutHuntingNZ shoutouts...Two GOATs right there.
I'm a seasonal fly fisherman but fish in other ways all year long. Everytime I watch your videos, I get the itch to fly fish all year long.
Nice, South African boy here, my first was a Carp, but you're probably correct with the rainbow thing. Best fish in SA was a Tiger. I now hunt mostly Pike, with the odd session for Trout
Good and funny video Ben. I am from Europe and I found very interesting the wondering about Euro nymphing relevance you mentioned. I think that Euro-nymphing is fishing with a fly rod... But is it fly fishing??? (NB: very popular in my country of stinking cheese - guess where :))
Another masterpiece... ha, ha. I asked Ben to include Argentinian flyfishermen and he delivered!! Stay huge!!
As a guide in Hokkaido Japan, I can confirm we have so much to offer for fly fisherman here in the land of rising trout haha! White spotted char, brown trout, rainbow trout, yamame, salmon, and the rare Ito (Japanese taimen) are just some of the awesome fish we find in our rivers here on the north island. If you are looking to make a trip to Hokkaido, track me down and I would love to show you a good time on the water!
Hey japanese guy a got a question for you. I know bass fishing is a big thing in japan but I always wondering what kind of predatory fish lived there before the introduction of bass.
@@FlyFishingChronicles Good question! We don't have bass fishing on the north island of Hokkaido though, so I will have to ask some Japanese friends to see what they say. As an American, I think of it like asking an Alaskan what the fishing is like in Missouri... same country, but very different environments. If I can track down an answer, I will be sure to share it you!
@@_nickhill_ THX bud!
Terry from Nova Scotia.Love your observation vids.May your fly land where you want it and the branches stay out of your way.
More gold. Keep it up, bro and stay huge!
Dude you’re hilarious! I’m a Michigan guy that moved to Colorado over 20 years ago and having been around the country you nailed it on the US stereotypes and can only imagine that you’re not far off on the international community 😂😂
I know you skipped over part of Canada as sort of the great lakes area, but you can't forget about the wicked brook trout I'm the Canadian shield, northern Ontario and Quebec.
Not to mention aurora trout, a sort of subspecies of brook trout that are only native in a handful of lakes, with a season every 3 years.
Or the less known stillwater fish on the fly, lake trout with FULL sink in deep water.
Also side note, Atlantic Canada has ocean run brook trout, it's kinda fun fishing off a warf catching stipped bass while trout fishing!
Nothing beats an 18lb striper on a fly rod. As they say in my neck of the woods (Miramichi) ‘wicked fun!’
"POW!" got me to lol. Well played.
"Aussies who really want to fly fish for trout go to New Zealand" ... has been known 😉 (also reduces to competition on the waters here) Gareth and Tom will appreciate the recognition 👏
New Zealand? Never heard of it.
@@alans4281 aren't they the guys who refer to Australia as 'West Island'? 🙄
There is a city pond the size of a bathtub, full of stockers, a block away. I refuse to fish it but there's 30 people there at any given time
Yeh we in Slovenia have some nice rivers but if you don't want pay 100$ for a day of fishing. I mean you can go bluelining for 15$ a day 🤷
Sava je še kr pocen sam pizda če muahrš pa ribo uzameš te takoj grdo gledajo.
You were spot on about NC, so I can only assume you're equally as correct about the rest of the states. Looking forward to part 2!
the Brian Chan commentary! ha. hahaha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love it. Fly Fishing is a religion in New Zealand. Trout guides are treated like gods. Shout out to the boys at Sporting Life in Turangi
No mention of the Mongolian tourist trout? Taimen which are logs with fins and Lenok that come out to $3,400 per pound when all expenses are factored in. Iceland is also 'Pay to Play' heavy on the Pay scale.
I've never been to Mongolia but have fished Iceland.
Keep it coming Ben. Good shit. Wish I could
Fish with you
I am just here waiting for Gareth’s response.
Going fly fishing today, Victoria Australia. If I fluke a six inch brown trout I will dance like ejit, but privately wish I was in NZ. Looks choice bro.
Around the world that actually went out of the America's. That's not very American.
Tom Jarmon on the Aussie stretch and Garth from trount hunting NZ on The NZ stretch. Both excellent you tube channels!
Freaking awesome video man, love it!🎃
That cal-gary (as I have heard one drunk local call it) photo is a real beautiful one.
Good morning Ben☕️☕️
All I can say, you are amazing stay huge👍
Yep it’s Monday.. the Hugest day of the week! 👍👍🎣
When you do US fly fishing stereotypes, don't forget Maine,. The still tie and use the old streamer patterns that were invented BEFORE tiers used vices. If you want to learn more call up the Rangeley Region Fly Shop in Rangle, ME.
Love that Matt from Fishbeer is the poster boy of Lederhosen
"I can talk about fly fishing in Arizona"
Be careful what you wish for, people, that was a warning shot.
It's a hard life in the desert lmao
Hey there,… Great video..!
I’ve always wanted to say mostly what you’ve mentioned about Australia… not knowing what to name their species of fish… we all know what a Salmon is … at least here in America and most of Europe… but the Aussie Salmon is not even closely related to any Salmonid… and the call groupers … trout…. or sea cod And the Murray cod is actually a bass… pretty funny how this came to be….😂🤗🙃🤣
@vibratingstring yeah… it’s pretty weird ….that’s one I’ve never heard of … lol 😂
To confuse everyone further, the picture was a Threadfin Salmon not an Australian Salmon. All part of the Britains master plan the make convicts and colonists feel at home while being attacked by snakes and fighting bushfires.
Man Calgary sure looks beautiful in that picture 😂 almost as beautiful as salt lake
The part about South Africa was overall scary accurate. Gotta say tho, for other South Africans, don't neglect kurper, even the little ones like Vlei and Canary kurper
hahahaahahaaha so funny colombia present!!!👋hahahaah
this is hilarious! I live in Tijuana and it's not only salt water. fly fish for big mouth bass, bluegill and trout here as well.
Awesome video! Aussie’s can’t name fish hahaha that was great
Dude these videos are hilarious hahaha
Think ,.wait, yeah you got met to Finnish my beer in 6min 31seconds the other ten was opening the fridge and popping the tab, to BURRRRppp ! Watch another vid of yours!
Lmao the SLC photo
The cool feeling when you see, that one of your "inventions", already is invented and put in production.
Ben good job on this video
The maps are hysterical! 🤣
How could you not mention Tasmania!!
Props for the correct pronunciation of Lesotho!!!
Hey Ben...you ever medicate in addition to drinking?
Missed out the people who have a death wish trying to catch Tigerfish on the fly amongst the hippos and crocs in Africa!
Out east in NB Canada we are now catching record sized musky, stripers and now browns and rainbows with big pickerel (no not what they call pickerel out west but actual pickerel like small pike) and smallies. We are starting to get some illegally stocked large mouths.
Yes we may up the odds of catching a fish by dipping our flies in maple syrup and beer but hey do what you can.
Most accurate vid ever.
Um what about Tasmania??? It literally has one of if the most populated trout river in Australia if I’m not mistaken
"Texas is still the worst" The air is thick with jealousy 🤣
Your videos are awesome.
lol, you forgot Benin. there is only one fly fisherman and he fishes for anything that moves. even using terrestrials to catch lizards
Well done..... Reel with whatever hand and Strip retrieve a bigger fish or Just get in on the reel.....
Thank you
How did you get South Africa so accurate😂
Brian Chan comment is sadly spot on.
We have the best saltwater fly fishing in NZ mate!
masochist fishing in the jungle here... Look up Dorado fishing on the Secure, river looks like prime trout territory but surrounded by jungle and you're tossing 12in streamers into pocket water for 20-30lb fish that that jumps like a tarpon and WILL take a finger off when you try to get your fly back. They are in Argentina as well but that's big water. I'd go back to Argentina for Dorado, but I'd rather go to the PNW for steelhead than fish for browns in Patagonia again.
How long would it take you to fly to NZ ?
From San Francisco 14 hours to Auckland
Fly Christchurch or Auckland and then drive 3-4 hours south to where the decent Trout water is located. Yeah, "horrible" trout fishing here. Lol!
@@ericyamashita7273 ,here?
How about the CSA, fly fishing for whatever we can fry
Trout hunting New Zealand watching this video lol
"I had fun with that!"
These are quality!
I hate NZ too. Mostly because of the Richard's from Houston who fish there and don't clean their waders and bring friggin snails to Wyoming! Clean your waders, get rid of the felt or just leave them in NZ.
Right or wrong, it was great!
Brilliant👍🏼🤣🤣
good one
Spot on. Who makes that hooded jacket Ben has on? No logo, I like no logo.
Kuhl. There’s a link in the description for free shipping.
@@HugeFlyFisherman Thanks Ben. Your huge.
Well if you ever get here to NZ ill take you fishing.
will he read your reply? its quite the offer
you might be my spirit animal
Nice content. Hit the nail on the head lol
Hello from Texas. I'm a stocker bashing legend in my own mind
Epic video.
Canada got the THROAT G.O.A.T.S fr 🐐😮😤
🇲🇽
Fishing a loghhhchhhhkk
😂 I was thinking how do you spell That?
In b.c they say what would Brian do
Och aye? Scotland has some of the best trout fishing in the world. It’s not all 10”ers in the lochs. And lots of Scotland is 100% free to fish, not even a licence needed.
All the lols, as a saffa who fished all the oddities, and now resides along side the test river in the UN M, it’s pretty and all the rest of that shit, and seriously pay to play. Yeah I hate kiwis as well, mostly cause I am jealous AF! They are rad peoples tho.
You forgot ALASKA... We're spoiled...
Needed taimen fishing in Asia.
Denver=Calgary=Salt Lake hahaha
POW New Zealand 🤣🤣🤣
I'm an Ausie, and I fish in NZ. Toodle pip.
Ye your right
I'm South-African and I can confirm 😂
I feel better.
Your right about us kiwi fisherman its terrible here , small fish ugly streams and rivers, you would hate it , dont come 😂
Don’t respect the Chan man like that hahaha
