I personally don’t eat crustaceans, but I was thinking the same thing, about how lobsters,shrimp and crab are prepared not only in the US, but basically worldwide. Those methods of preparation are no less cruel.

It´s not. There is a difference between a natural scenario and this stuff. When fighting with a predator, the prey has some kind of freedom to resist and release some stress during the fight, there is adrenaline that makes the animal kind of numb anyway. Here, the organism can´t properly respond to the hazard. It´s like having a horror trip on drugs where you know you can´t escape and have to endure the stress until it is over.
To chinese people: please don´t follow every tradition, at least try to question the rational morality of your actions.
