I think movies are not necessarily American, but rather worldwide, which I find truly beautiful. That anyone across the world can access a camera and film at their behest.

Why is AFI interviewing president of NRA?
I guess your comment is a sarcasting one but still let me just remind you that Heston was also one of Hollywood most Iconic actors, having seen all his 100 movies and not just his famous one, I can tell you he was a great actor and without him Orson Welles wouldn't have directed Touch of Evil ! Also because you're mentionning the NRA, did you know Heston was also one of the first to take part in the Civil Right Mouvement and he was present with Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, Sidney Poitier and Burt Lancaster at the March of Washington on August 28th in 1963. Heston was also one of the founders of the AFI, he played a big part in its establishment as a big organisation.
Bigot much? The man had an amazing career and protected many actors from discrimination and you boil an amazing human down to one small minded phrase?
Charlton Heston on the magic of movies (and guns)... Sorry, but that's one thing I really dislike about him.
And I really dislike that you cannot see an entire human over one thing. Perhaps you have never seen a rattlesnake so big it covered an entire road and then some in the desert where there would be no police officer to come and shoot it for you? Or a herd of wild hogs? They can kill and eat your dog or your child. Or seen stories of people who had to get shots for rabies - six over several months - because they had to kill a rabid fox or coyote with their bare hands to protect a child or children because they did not own a gun. Or knew a family so poor that hunters were sharing deer meat with them because the family could not afford meat from the store. Or seen stories of pit bulls like here in NC that turned n a child in the family, small child, the mother tried to pry it off, used a knife, had no gun, called the police, the policeman shot it but now it is too late for the child. Gus are used by criminals. But when you outlaw them for law abiding citizens for normal self protection . . .which is for these ordinary things. . .only criminals like MS13 gang members will still have them. I have seen all the things I told you about unless I told you I saw them in the news. The herd was more than once by the way.
