To industrialize, there is always a consequence, especially when the Western "democratic" (Britain, US, France) and the Nazis want to destroy you. I'm not saying that he can't have done even better, but he did do a lot for Russia today. If he didn't industrialize the USSR and lead the country through the great patriotic war, it would have been destroyed by the Nazis.

Romania wasnt annexed as a part of the molotov ribbentrop pact, but bessarabia (moldavia/modova). the capture of berlin didnt lead to hitler suiciding, he suicided 2 days earlier. yugoslavia existed at the time, u showed modern day borders which took a lot more violence to create. the soviet army's name is the red army. its not kim 2 in roman sung, its il, the letters i and L.

Good video. I've always believed that people like him can be considered great, but just because they did things at a great scale when opportunities came. It is a simple greatness in the idea of social archetype organisation. It comes down to first impressions that can be used to tune decisions a bit and for nothing else. Just like encouraging patriotism or the question of "when does culture matter in politics?", this all is in the territory of natural conditions, not drastic dynamics like an actual movement. And these kinds of dictators are true believers in the system but corrupt within the path and solutions for beliefs. They just keep doing what they were doing in life before because there's no clear limitation to change things around. But where I'm from, that's the default opinion even kids seem to be born with, and this still is an enlightened centrist general summary comment that anyone can find worth in for any reason because there are no real opinions

Stalin never "defeated all his rivals to become leader" his position as general secretary basically made him the man who had to know everything for everyone and was constantly hounded by the other members for either information or help with issues but his position he was given as general secretary is the one he held until his death but that position isn't like president or prime minister at the time it was actually made up by Lenin to get him out of military control after his spat with Trotsky. ironically Stalin basically fell into the role of leader. It wasn't until the purges in the 30's that he started actually using his power to defend against counter revolutionaries in the party while also causing possibly a few innocent members to parish caused by anxiety due to the fear of war with either Germany or the West.

Obviously, Stalin was a dictator and was responsible for the deaths of millions of people. Additionally, he eliminated most of his rivals, but on the other hand, he was a hero who deserves all appreciation for the survival of Russia and USSR. It was he who, with his strong determination of throwing Germans out of the USSR by defeating Nazi Germany. Had he not been that cruel, the USSR would have been part of Hitler's Nazi Germany. You had covered one part by showing cruelty and atrocities carried out by Stalin. Would be highly appreciated if someone could show up the courage and determination of Stalin that had led USSR in defeating the Nazi Germany. Whatever he did did it for the existence of Russia and USSR more than his personal gains.
He did his best for making his country strong enough to face the challenges of today's colonizers and American imperialism.

This is just another hogwash on Stalin's history. You cleverly skipped the part in 1917, when 14 Capitalist countries invaded USSR and made deals with white army to divide the lands of USSR, which made the Soviets to handle the traitors within the party with iron hands. What Stalin did through rapid industrialization, made USSR to withstand Germany's brutal attack, when the western capitalist countries folded within days and weeks. France, Belgium and Netherlands lost the statehood to German invasion in a matter of weeks. UK only survived because of the English Channel separating Britain from West Europe. It was USSR that faced the brutal invasion and beat back the Nazis. If it wasn't for Stalin, USSR would have folded within 2 months at max.
