- Not exactly the kind of video I generally put up, but I felt it was important considering the severity of the situation and because I had so much to say about it.
I may try doing this discussion type of video more often (hopefully about happier topics). Let me know if you'd like to see that. They would hopefully be made to be of higher quality than this one.

Thanks tech! There’s a lot of good points made here and I also wanted to address how unthankful a big portion of the community is for the list team. Like you said, they’re not even paid to put in the effort like they’ve been doing. I don’t think I could imagine how many hackers they’ve actually caught and prevented their fake fame in this game. It’s just so unfortunate to see that this one slip up had to be the number one player for 2 years and it’s just so sad to see the amount of stress and backlash the list team gets all the time.
I get that the list team have lots of players and runs and stuff to check but for a player this big, jumping from one extreme to another in suspiciously low attempt counts suspiciously quickly, if there's one person in the community to check for hacking it would probably be him. I'm just shocked that no one thought to investigate spaceuk until now. Although you can't hate on the list team. spaceuk pretty much manipulated the entire list team into doing whatever list placement switches he wanted, but that's not them being bad people, that's just them being dumb teens/young adults and not having enough time to check everything. Although the list team should definitely take this as a lesson to be more careful to try avoid situations like this happening in the future.
The only reason spaceuk situation got so impactful is because the list is so incompetent that can't even check a freaking watermark lmao. Whether they got paid or not doesn't mean crap if they can't do it then don't take the job in the first place instead of doing it poorly and screw over the gd competitive scene.

It's all just a super sad situation, so many people including myself look up to you and other top players for their outstanding accomplishments, and meanwhile some people take advantage of that and manipulate the entire community. Good to hear from you again man

It's good that you mentioned how the demon list is run, because they really do not get paid, not just enough, but at all to deal with people's bullshit. It's easy to think it's just basic record checking for a mobile game, but on a scale as big as this, shit's bound to slip through the cracks eventually.
While it's entirely SpaceUk's fault for hacking, the list team knew that it was inevitable that someone would try to pull this shit. The fact is that so much have been stolen and taken away from so many of the top players because the list team failed to do what they sought out to do. SpaceUk should not have gotten away with this *for years,* and we need to make sure this never, ever happens at this sheer scale ever again.
@@8is Yeah, it's definitely something that shouldn't have happened. I mostly just want people to understand that the list mods are still human and that taking their anger out on them doesn't help anybody.

I do want to say that I am extremely worried that this is going to happen and to an extent I think it already has with how undetectable hacking is getting. (such as paqoe not being able to find hard evidence against some of ayrelia's completions)
I still do need hard evidence before I want to see someone banned and for the list to take action, but I am increasingly worried about a potential future where there just isn't any evidence a hacker leaves behind. In which case top level play in GD is basically doomed. Remember there isn't any rule of the universe written that hacking has to always be detectable.
two players specifically, Zoink and Wpopoff, have so much circumstantial evidence going against them they really do make me worried for the future of the game. with zoink going from having beaten bloodbath as his hardest to having beaten Firework, The golden, Sakupen circles, slaughterhouse, tartarus, Zodiac and hard machine in 5 months. and Wpopoff going from almost nothing to 25 main lists - including slaughterhouse and acheron - in around 3 months. This makes me worried we already passed this threshold a while ago, since these kinds of players never appeared in the last 8 years of GD history that I've been around. In which case GD is in very deep trouble.
I really, really desperately want to be wrong. I poured my heart out into this game so many times. I'd hate nothing more than to see cheaters come and corrupt it. And I pray to god that Zoink is a legitimate player and is indeed just a prodigy. Not because I like him, but because I really want this game to have a bright future.
I think the best way to prove that you're legit is streaming with handcam. It's not that hard to buy a decent camera, or, if u are really poor, you can even connect your phone to obs. I hope the list team gonna set new rule about handcam, cuz I don't see a better way to prove player's legitimacy
Zoink does give me hope because he streams a ton (no handcam) but still it makes him more legit

The fact that Space just kept going and stole credit that he didn't deserve is horribly disappointing. Just goes to show we can't trust everything. I'm still blown by how he got away with this and showed no signs of guilt. Truly unbelievable and disrespectful.
He even tried to quit the game (after finishing the mainlist he posted a community message for example) but he must’ve enjoyed it or some shit and carried on..
space was genuinely a player i looked up to and even inspired me to skip a entire difficulty from hard demon to a extreme, sad to say i was greatly disappointed when this surfaced up.
worse shit is that the dude on its own could have done this but decided to fuck it up since the very begining, or even worse that began the hacking since the very very beginning, we'll never know

i appreciate you making this video because all of the points you made are 100% correct. most of the community doesnt realize how much effort the demon list team puts in and one slip up happened to change the games history quite literally forever. its unfortunate it happened but at least he was caught later than never. i also want to mention that your points about the playing community are also insanely correct. putting in effort for a top spot just to have you be accused of hacking is just tainting the community further, and other community members need to recognize that. with your platform i hope most of the toxicity dies down and you can influence other people correctly. thank you!!
I agree with you and I also wanna build on your list team take, in my time being on the team back in 2018-2020 I was always so disappointed by how unfair some of the community could be, despite how committed some of its members were (not me, for what it's worth) and all the good that came out of it
The amount of commitment it takes is far greater than it may seem from the outside, trust me they deserve some credit for keeping it all running. So yeah, point out the problems/mistakes but don't do it like the list team are an enemy bc they're really not, they're just players like you trying to contribute to the community voluntarily

I'm very disappointed on spaceuk, but i respected him for his apology, i know it won't change anything, but he's absolutely not coward, he knew that he made huge mistake, and he knew that he deserves this, people like him are rare, so many people just run away, delete all their account and disappeared, i know not everyone can forgive him, so many people in the community still mad on him, and it's okay to be mad, but we can't always get controlled by our ego hating someone forever, we need to forgive him whatever how big the impact is, at the end of the day, we're just human full of mistakes, sometimes we make small mistake and people just take it easy but sometimes we made a big or even huge mistake, all we need to do is learn from them

Technical, thank you so much for this video. I agree with all of your points here, and it's really sad to see everyone's trust of others diminish because of this. I also don't blame the Pointercrate team for not catching him hacking until now, because as you said, they're only volunteering for this, and they aren't getting paid to do so, yet they're still working very hard and make a few mistakes here and there, whether major or minor. Despite the toxicity of this community or hell, any internet community in general, I really hope that we can realize this. I mean, I would blame SpaceUK for cheating and manipulating the entire community in the first place, causing all of this drama and tension in the first place. At this point, just like with NoctaFly and their situation, I've lost all of my respect for both of them, especially since I was never really interested in either player anyways.
Speaking of which, I don't know why the Demonlist team never set you as the official verifier for Zodiac and put your completion video as the official verification video. I'm just gonna assume that either you didn't want them to do so, or they simply forgot about it, which is totally understandable.
It’s so close to the Cyclic case as well. He only admitted to hacking The Hell Zone and Sonic Wave but then confessed to hacking everything when pressed a little further.
Honestly, it is a really sad situation it has come out. Like I never expected Space to hack a lot of the levels, and now stealing the credits from many top players who should be the ones that deserved the spotlight. Still good explanation video Tech!

There was that one guy like a year ago who accused Space of cheating and the Demonlist mods just dismissed it as misinformation.
Good that you brought this out. Not many people do this nowadays where they talk about issues like this on youtube which is the big platform and instead just keep it on Twitter just like the Guitar situation.

One thing I don’t understand is why people are saying he pushed the boundaries so far that other people would not have been able to do those things w out him. Sure we got harder levels but now newer players will be so stressed because they’ll feel they will need spaces skill to even compete or get into the community.
its kinda surprising that not many people were suspicious of space from the beginning, If you think about it, Space came out of nowhere with beating the hardest demons, and that was how you'd get people suspicious of you back then, its sad to see he did continue this until he got exposed, which is the sad reality of video game communities.
Very good points here. It’s a scary situation for the community because everyone realizes how easy it is to simply cheat. And this is undeserving for the top players who are currently being blamed for following suit with Space and cheating their way into the demonlist. The community will hopefully make a fast recovery from this unfortunate situation. But also hey, on the bright side, I’m seeing you in the MK8DX leaderboards now. So that’s something to keep your head up about. :)

My thoughts exactly!! I was dogpiled and told I needed to go outside for “making a big deal out of nothing” when this has hurt many people in the community because he’s much worse than “just a hacker”.
its really sad to see that trust issues have come to a point to where you cant even trust your own friends. He lied to all of their friends in front of their faces and they didnt think much of it. never the less this was a great video as usual and a lot of good points were made. cant wait for the next one :)

Nice to hear that you’re around to see and witness this. Because space fell through our fingers we now have a tainted mindset that may single out top players who actually worked for the title, and in that way our community will change a blue-whale ton.
It’s weird when I first started watching Space play at the level he was playing at and beating levels with such speed I originally thought there’s no way this is legit. But through time and everyone else saying he was legit I just believed it. One of those situations where I hate to be the one that’s right. Hopefully GD will recover from this!

The thing that i find unfair about the list team critism is that sure, they missed the hacking and didnt realise, but so did every other person in the world.Theres no reason for them to be attacked, when not a single person in the entire community for 3 years noticed either
This is a super heart breaking situation and it pisses me off the most because it hurt my friend who really looked up to space and he was the one who got my friend into trying to beat harder Demons for his skill range and he is demotivated now. And also I hate the people who blamed the list team because they blamed the team for missing the cheating but think about it, everyone missed it (except paqoue) so they can’t say anything and if they wanna say something they should go work for the list team.

I mean, there are a lot of people in this community, and any one of them could have randomly known about the zbot thing and been randomly checking top player's footage. It was the feeling of being betrayed. Npesta had a mental breakdown and Crisis was rolling in his bed while crying. It's sad 😔

As it says: "Something new is something forgotten old". And this is why I agree with you about this situation is kind of similar to Noctafly and about the methods of tracking the hacks.
On the other hand, we have a different time, where you can have almost every single hack you want in this game, so this means that yeah, people will look at new top players more sceptical than it was before.
Another negative that people don’t really talk about is how many more people will start to hack completions. I’m sure people will see how long Space got away with hacking for so long with such a simple method that they’ll think they can get away with it.

This was 5 months ago? Still feels like yesterday
I was suspicious ever since he ‘verified’ slaughterhouse. Even before slaughterhouse was released I was a big fan of the level, and I would do showcases of the leaked slaughterhouse on the servers, I knew the ins and outs of the level and holy crap it’s insanely difficult, damn near impossible. Then spaceuk says he beats it in 1 week whilst he’s ill? I didn’t buy it. But after a while I stopped pursuing it and just accepted maybe he’s just insane, but I guess I was right the first time.

On a serious note, SpaceUK stole so many achievements. We could've has a cool and nice top one(Firework) for more than seventeen seconds, but Slaughterhouse. He stole the verification from doggie, not to mention Crisis, Trick, and Cursed

The Guitar Hero Cheater only confessed 4 accomplishments before everything unveiled so it's pretty common for cheaters to only confess a small amount and then more attention gets drawn to their accomplishments and more stuff gets found out
I'm surprised that we (the community) haven't learnt since the Riot Vs. Cyclic situation. We all told ourselves that we'd be more careful, but since the entire SpaceUGay situation happened, I think we've all realised that we need to start acting more seriously and check records regardless of who they're from. I don't think (or I hope) that Space isn't a bad guy himself, but went down a slippery slope when he started hacking. This isn't an excuse and he deserves being called out on this, but good people can make bad decisions.
The main issue is that with more hackers exposed by the demonlist we put more and more trust in them to do the detective work, and we assumed most players would be able to hack at most a few levels before we catch them, but that faith in the demonlist to save us all has been shattered. Now we will not trust the demonlist as much when it comes to finding the cheaters and it'll be easier for independent enthusiasts to accuse someone of cheating.
Space decided to be a loser in video games, AND in real life. The narcissism is huge with him. I'm sorry to anyone who spent so much time in this game only for this to happen. We have to do better to make sure that scandals like this don't happen again. Don't sell your soul, there are better things to do than hacking.

Even tho i left the Geomtry Dash community years ago i still remember when Spaceuk was considered the best along with a few others in like 2020-21 to me its kinda sad mainly for other top players as Space kinda ruined the top players credibility as legit.

I see a lot of "we need to make sure this never happened" I’m not sure if this is a good idea. We are in unstable situation, before doing everything, we need to be as stable as possible, if we give too much attention to that, it can be very dangerous and players will accuse each other for nothing. I think, the best way of getting out of this is forgetting about spaceuk AND THEN be more carful in the future.
You have a really good point about the list team. People need to get off their backs. You're right, they are ultimately just kids that volunteered.

I completely understand anger. It's okay I be pissed off at this guy for cheating this entire community and making money off of it. It's completely selfish and even hurt others.
But going out of your way to threaten and harass someone? No. That makes you no better than space. In fact, he actually apologized and put effort into it, whether he really meant it or not, he still didn't attempt to completely deny it and he said he'd try to give the money back.

To think a person the community has looked up to for so long is exposed as a fraud is absolutely gut wrenching. It really makes you appreciate the people that don't cheat and the people that are legit but at the same time, now we won't know who to believe is real or not and the fact that he took away these awesome titles from these players is absolutely unforgivable.

The fact that his jump from decode to wasureta was legit, really proves he had the chance to REALLY be a top player. But instead, he just cheated.
