GANDEYS CIRCUS
The Gandeys can trace their history to the early 1800s, to the family
of the renowned Frank Bostock of 'Bostock and Wombwell'
fame, and still reside close to Leek, the family town in Staffordshire.
The Gandey family has a long history of circus performance dating back
to the late 1800s with wild west acts known as The Montanas and The
Colorados appearing in Bostock and Womwell Circus and Buffalo Bill’s Wild West shows.
The circus is one of the biggest touring shows in Europe and Gandey World Class
Productions employs hundreds of people, putting on displays by a range of
international performers, including Chinese State Circus.
The death on December 12 2023 of the director Philip Gandey of one of the world's most famous circuses
has been described as a "massive loss" to "the entire entertainment industry".
Today the circus is run by Carol Gandey with their daughters
Hayley and Mariska involved in various aspects of the business.
I was invited to Gandeys Circus by Neil Baldwin of MARVERLLOUS fame, and th show was truly amazing.
Exceptional highly skilled production and artists, clown, comedy acts, amazing dancers, wonderful aerial and performers
putting their lives at risk to entertain us.
If you have preconceived ideas that Circus is at the lower end of the entertainment spectrum, think again.
