" One City Center " - Durham - Expert Craftsmanship Series

My personal view and appreciation of everything and anything around us is always one of immense gratefulness… especially so for the most amazing skills and craftsmanship of all the incredibly talented people involved in any and all construction projects...
My soul is also filled with deep gratefulness for the thousands and millions of people who have invented, designed, created and produced all the materials needed for these construction sites… all the way from the smallest parts to the heaviest… all the way from the true genius of the person who invented... the thread on a screw… all the way up to the majestic design of the longest beam of steel... or the highest, and so amazingly balanced, most beautiful crane...
It is so very easy for us, in our busy daily lives, to take all of that for granted... instead of immensely appreciating all the magic involved in any and all building and construction projects.
Without the immense talent and hard work of so many people involved in any and all construction projects... we would simply still in the stone age, living in caves, or in huts… all made of dirt.
Instead, we live in, and our lives are surrounded by, such beautiful and safe homes and buildings... all sheltering us from the rain and the elements, protecting us from the heat and the cold... all allowing for us to live our lives surrounded by beauty and caring, by love... and by the human touch everywhere we look... everywhere we are...
My eyes, my heart and my soul are all so incredibly lucky as to see and “feel” all of this… every day… everywhere… every instant… everywhere I am… everywhere I look… all filling up my spirit and my own journey with endless reverence for all those people and craftsmen and craftswomen… all while trying my best to very modestly convey some of my feelings and emotions in every new film that I shoot and produce... trying my best in turn to humbly share all these emotions, wonderment and admiration with all the viewers of my films...
I truly hope that this film about this construction site in progress will also allow you to see, feel and deeply appreciate all the same... and maybe modestly invite you to enjoy a newfound deep appreciation and reverence for all that is around us… for all that has been invented, designed and built by our fellow human beings… all such very admirable Women and Men… too often forgotten, too often “invisible”, too often incredibly under appreciated…
With much love and deep gratitude to you, as well as to all of the amazingly skilled and hard working people who make our magical planet as beautiful and as enjoyable to live on… as it truly is!
