    The double header with #361 & #463 is one of the best! Same can be said for the Nevada County Mogul!

    Locomotives in America 🇺🇸 were so decoratively dolled up in those days! @4:33 @4:55 👍

    I do believe this video showcased almost every Accucraft D&RGW loco they’ve made, except maybe the K-37. I didn’t make note of that monster. But I did note some of the rarer ones like the C-21 #361 and the South Pacific 4-4-0.

      Thank you for the nice words Patrick.
      The base board is James Hardy (16mm ) Backer Board - Cement sheet , It lasts very well but is quite heavy to work with.

    I'm not tracking how these work. Are there little coals and little fires in them heating up a little bit of water? How long do they run after filling up? I would think they run out pretty quick. How do you start a fire in them? I need to see how these things work.

    • @grahamfordham4510
      @grahamfordham4510  Před rokem

      Most of the locomotives in the video are gas fired. There were is a gas tank in the tender.
      Running time is up to an hour with water top up along to way. You can get some of these locomotives with coal fired boilers and by regularly adding carbon and water and lubricant oil while running they will run all day

  • @David-yo5re
    @David-yo5re Před 4 měsíci

    I understand they run on steam like the prototype. But, my question is how are they controlled speed and direction wise? Are they radio controlled?

    • @grahamfordham4510
      @grahamfordham4510  Před 4 měsíci

      Most of the locomotives in this video are manually operated but adjusting the regulator in the cab. However you can also fit servos to operate them with a hand help remote control.

  • @easterntennesseelivesteame4796

  • @gerard-k
    @gerard-k Před 2 lety

    wow these locomotives are beautiful! So what is this 1:24 scale? Are there a lot more narrow gauge live steam offerings available compared to say 1:32 or 1:29 scale. is the track 45mm or?

    • @grahamfordham4510
      @grahamfordham4510  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello yes most of these are either 1/24 or 1/19 scale they are all either Accucraft or Aster locomotives. They all run on 45mm track. I only have 1/32 scale live steamers my self which also run on 45mm track so we get a good variety of locomotives most Run days.

    google my name and find hot metal, no more smoke from steam locomotives. on H0 scale use 8mm rod as long as the boiler. for O scale use 12mm This is the return of steam. engineers live 110y because this is a meditating locomotive. Diesel? 60y only old steam 70y electric 85.
