Matt plays a cool ‘tribal’ drumming intro, Ben plays in a “patience” way (no showy stuff sh*t), Chris is off course the Center masterpiece of the song..then comes KIM Thayil Cosmic supranatural lead...musically i think this is like Soundgarden’s Dub/ambient Song..This album filled my days for years in the 90s..✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼 stay strong
I agree the album is amazing. A friend of mine was playing it a lot on his little boombox during a camping holiday in Spain in 1994, and I didn't like it that much at first, but it quickly grew on me. When I got home I bought the album myself. Albums with instant appeal usually lose your interest after a while, but records like these never get boring, it is still fascinating to listen to from start to finish. I was surprised to see the drummer here was not Matt Cameron, it is Matt Chamberlain, who filled in on this tour. He is doing a pretty decent job.

The album is 100% pure. I never understood why Chris changed the vocal melody--it makes the song! I'll get raked through the coals for this, but, man, the vocal melody is so important.
