Hi Leanne, I've been following your weight loss journey since the beginning, and I am so sorry to hear your news. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on 9th December 2016. My cancer was very aggressive and required chemo, then a mastectomy followed by more chemo. I dreaded the treatment but found it wasn't as bad as I feared, and I was actually able to continue working throughout. I have now been cancer free for five and a half years. The next few months will be hard, but don't be afraid to lean on your loved ones. They want to help you and this journey will be easier for all of you if you allow them to help. I tried to stay strong and keep my feelings bottled up for fear of upsetting people around me, but it was so much easier after I let them in. Stay positive and do whatever you feel you need to do to to beat this 😘

@MsLadyBlueWorld I had mild nausea for 5-7 days after each session of chemo but was never sick and could still eat. I had a bad skin reaction to my first session, but that settled after a couple of weeks and I didn't have any other skin issues. I was actually quite shocked at how few side effects I had.

Oh, Leanne...😭 I'm so sorry you're going thru this, but your courage, positivity, and determination give you a HUGE edge. Thank God you were persistent in pursuing a diagnosis. Now, let's get stuck in and kick this cancer to the kerb. Clean eating with plenty of antioxidants is so beneficial to those with this diagnosis. I'm an RN who specializes in nutrition in patients who have diabetes and cancer, so if I can help in any way, I'm here for you. I'm not going anywhere, and whenever you feel up to posting, I'll be watching. You're brave beyond words. Please let us know how you're getting on. Love and hugs to you sweet lass. ❤

We are our best doctors and you knew. Not having a mammogram before 40 is a joke. In Europe they do especially if there is a lump so why can’t we. Stay strong and I do recommend looking into whole foods and vitamins. My sister had breast cancer 17 years ago stage 4 and she done all the research on good food and it helped a lot. Also research fasting. It is very very good to help the body when it needs to recover from illness . X

Please get therapy for your "cancerphobia" ... Avoiding tests doesn't avoid cancer, it just makes you have less chance of living if you get cancer.
Avoiding information doesn't change the answers.
You should get the tests so doctors have years of tests as a baseline to track against to see any small changes.
You're better off if you have negative results, then if changes happens it's easy to compare.
I got my first mammogram and breast ultrasound at age 30-31 due to something...and it was negative, no issues, but now I have that record and imaging that they could compare against

Thank goodness you just new something wasn’t right
You definitely have things set out with your health and well-being
Last couple of weeks I myself have been referred to breast clinic. A couple of things they advised me to help prevent breast cancer and reduce the risk was alcohol, weight and diet. I always thought smoking was the main risk but no! Fortunately I don’t drink at all haven’t in almost 18 years but my weight and diet definitely need sorting.
You want to bring good foods into your diet like turmeric….. I watch another channel Tiffany Thinks…. She is also going through her own cancer journey not breast cancer but her wonderful mom makes her fresh juices full of goodness with things like turmeric and ginger. You may find watching some of those vlogs useful for some ideas.

I’m so glad you stood up for yourself! I’m going through a similar situation. I had an MRI of my lower spine because of chronic back pain. An incidental finding is a large cyst on one of my ovaries. My doctor ordered an ultra sound and a transvaginal ultra sound. Today he called and said the radiologist couldn’t decide if I had one large cyst or 2 cysts side by side but that he was ok with following up in 3-4 months. My doctor said he was good with that too but he could also refer me to a gynecologist to get his opinion and that he was comfortable with that also. I told him I wanted the referral to the gynecologist so now I’m waiting for a call from them. I also just have that feeling or maybe it’s just fear. Why take a chance? Good luck with your surgery!

They did a biopsy and then diagnosed it as stage 3. I didn't even complete my chemo, just had two sessions and doing fine now. Well, I wanted to advise you to have olive oil. I read somewhere that it prevents and helps stop cancer. I have sauteed broccoli and other veggies in it. I know it is expensive though. Just trying to help.

Your video gives women validation that their intuition needs to be explored. I pray that you will conquer this diagnosis, but rest assured that God knows what you are going through. As hard as this sounds, everything we go through is meant for good in the long run. That’s a tough pill to swallow when we can’t see the reasons for our pain. Even after having 2 biopsies I was told that it was nothing to worry about. Pathology took weeks to come back and that’s when I was diagnosed. Will be getting a radical hysterectomy after the New Year. Hearing the words that you have cancer have totally changed my world. It’s a club that nobody wants to belong to but I’ve learned a lot about self-care since my diagnosis. Hi Leanne! I got your video as a recommendation and I'm glad I watched it. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, it's such a horrible experience you've been through. It's so frustrating to hear especially as a breast cancer survivor myself. 💞 I'm almost 4 years from my diagnosis.
I have a couple suggestions for you that you may not be aware of. I was very much like you in the beginning in that I knew basically nothing about breast cancer prior to my diagnosis but it's like being dropped into a hot frying pan once you get the results. 😲😰
Approximately 4 years years ago a major discovery was made with regards to breast cancer and chemotherapy. It was medically proven that not all breast cancers need chemotherapy and in fact have no affect on certain cancers. This was and is amazing news because many woman died horrible deaths from unnecessary chemotherapy treatments. It was studied over a period of 10 years and the medical boards made the decision that those breast cancers no longer would be treated with chemo and a new test state of the art test was discovered and proven very accurate and it's called an⚠️ ↪ Oncotype DX test. This test is to confirm the type the treatments needed as well as it also gives you the chances of your cancer returning in the next year. (?) I can't remember if it 1 year or 2 years. Anyway it is an amazing test and it's done using the a sample of what they remove during your lumpectomy. It was only available in California where they sent my tumor to but there maybe more labs now.
My tumor was discovered on a regularly scheduled biannual mammogram. I had no idea and laughed when they called me back for further tests. I have fatty dense breast tissue and I was just 49 but because of my breasts being dense, I wanted to make sure that I had regular mammograms and I keep track of when I'm due, I don't rely on the doctors to keep track. 😉
I went through the 2nd round of mammograms and then the ultrasound and then asked if I could stay for biopsies. I knew after the ultrasound that they suspected cancer because they retook them 3 or 4 times for over an hour. It turned out my tumor was 1 mm from my chest wall behind my breasts so it would never have been felt until it was very large and too late.
I received the news and it was a blurr after that with appointments and testing. I met with the surgeon almost a week after my diagnosis and it was decided on mutually I would have a lumpectomy because it was only 6mm in size. They removed the tumor and 1 node that was clear. I had a "sentinal node biopsy". ⬅️☣⚠️ please read/google about that procedure as I'm sure you will have it done. It's good to educate yourself on that procedure.
My tumor was sent for the OncotypeDX test and it came back that I did need chemo and unfortunately it came back that I had a pretty ugly type of cancer and my odds were high that it would return without a good fight.
I was immediately started on chemo but 7 days after my 1st dose I was admitted to hospital with Sepsis. I was told that basically I am one of those people that has a body that doesn't handle chemo and they were going to cut my next dose by 20%. Long story short, I didn't get the 3rd dose because I was in the hospital in critical condition fighting for my life from my 3rd go with Sepsis. I was told that my organs were shutting down and I had higher odds of not leaving the hospital than recovering. 😢 I decided that I had to fight hard and I made it a mission to recover. Almost 5 weeks later I was skipping down the hospital corridor to go home. 😊 I took control of every single medication, treatment and all my nutritional requirements. I had a charts in my hospital room to track everything and the hospital made all kinds of exceptions to bring in healthy nutritional options for my meals. I was my own advocate and I also decided that it was going to be really important to stay 100% positive, happy and laugh as much as I could. I swear that was what saved me!! The nurses were massively important in their role of joining in on my laughter and they were all about joining in on my mission. My positive attitude, healthy eating and laughter saved my life for sure. I still have all my test results and the numbers on my blood panels back then were just unimaginable.
It's important to keep track of everything in any way you can. I colour coded everything in a bullet journal and I tracked to the minute when I was due for meds. I made sure to stay on top of the timing, dosages etc because the Infectious Decease specialists were having trouble find the right meds to fight the infections.
I didn't finish the chemo but I had lengthy radiation treatments and they added extra treatments on. It was easy for the most part but radiation is just like a sun burn in that it doesn't show up until later and radiation is much longer in it's time showing up than a sun burn. It wasn't until my 2nd or 3rd week when I started to blister and they kept reminding my that it was still going to progress for weeks after my treatments were done. I had great advice from my home care nurse to wash my burns with Ivory bar soap morning and night in the shower and then apply a good amount of a really good moisturizing unscented lotion. I used Cetaphil Pro and my burns healed very quickly and beautifully with no sign of them left behind. 👍🏻 I was certain I was going to severe scars and damage because my burns were so deep and purple raw flesh. I thought the washing the burns was crazy but it was exactly right and even with my virtually zero immune system, I was able to fight off infections in my massive burn.
I just recently finished getting my 2 radiation tattoos removed through laser treatments. I was very happy because one of my tattoos was accidentally made about 5 times the size it was supposed to have been and I hated it. The hospital Oncology doctors were able to find my a doctor that had a cosmetology clinic with state of the art equipment and he happened to have the latest laser to zap very easily and virtually painlessly. Unfortunately it took 9 appointments to remove the big tattoo and the normal size correct tattoo was removed in 4 treatments. But I'm happy they are both gone and the doctor did all the removals free of charge because they are breast cancer rads tattoos. ❤💖
I'm sorry for the massive message but hopefully you will get some information in it that will help you in your journey. 🙏🏼💝

I’m So sorry you are going through this. Something similar happened to me this year in April/May. I became unwell in late March getting breathless, fatigue, chest pain, high heart rate and retaining fluid. I went to my GP 6 times and was told it was anxiety. I knew something was not right as I know my body the best. The last doctor said it was psychological as he could see 1000 people my age and only 1 would have something seriously wrong with them and it wasn’t me. I was 36. I felt like I was a hypercondriak and changed doctors, within 2 days I was admitted to hospital and told I needed open heart surgery to save my life as I was a short few weeks from my aorta rupturing and bleeding to death as well as having a very leaky valve which needed replacing with a mechanical valve. Following my gut instincts saved my life so please everyone never give up if you feel something is wrong. I have now been diagnosed with heart failure because of the doctors ignoring me for so long but I am doing extremely well now and making a good recovery. Sending you lots of love Leanne xx

Oh bless you. Sadly my mum and I went through similar treatment and heard the same from everyone we saw. My mum went back and forth to her GP for maybe 4 years with pain, swelling and other symptoms, bleeding etc. She was told it was her own fault she was just overweight and it was IBS. She was dismissed at almost every turn until her GP refused to see her and called her a time waster. As we grew up I always heard my mum tell me how incredible they were as people and saved lives etc. So each time mum was sent away hearing it was nothing, I wondered the same. I went away with mum for 2 weeks and she barely ate any food at all. No carbs, sugar, diary just plain salad and water etc. She also had scans saying nothing. Eventually Boots The Chemist took her to the hospital and said they did not think it was IBS and asthma. They also said she had fluid in her lungs. Later that day she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer that had spread. They then had the cheek to say she should have came in faster. Then I felt bad for not paying for her scans privately. Sadly she passed away. I went through 3 wasted years with GPs and the hospital, being told I had IBS and not endometriosis. Let's say I spent nearly £9 k on private scans and surgery that saved my life and gave me answers. Even now my GPS have all the paperwork from surgery's etc they say "we need to do our own tests and can't go on this". I have never felt more like a time waster and humiliated. My mum started crying and thanking them for her diagnosis and believing her finally.... After being told stage 4. It makes me incredibly angry. Basically WE know our own bodies better than anyone else, and if GP or NHS ignore anything get private tests don't wait. I'm so sad to hear you've had to go through all that. Stay positive. Listen to your body and what it's telling you... Fatigue etc. Thank you for sharing your experience. A warning for others

I just ran across this video. My wife, 52 years old at the time, went in for a routine physical in 2018. We never get any extra tests but her doctor told her to get a mammogram. Now! She went that day and they discovered a soft mass in a breast. It was cancerous. It was a large mass but it had not yet spread beyond the breast. She had a double mastectomy followed by a series of chemo. The treatments lasted over a year. She was cancer free after this but goes in every 6 months for screenings, watching for the cancer to return. Cancer runs in her family; she has 6 siblings, 3 of whom have cancer right now with one being terminal.
I am appalled at the way the doctors delayed your diagnosis for over two freakin' years! They always stress early detection, as they should, yet they practically blew you off when you tried to get help. Thanks for the video and I will be anxious to see how things progress!

Hi Leanne, I am so sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis. I hope your operation goes well in January and that you go on to make a full recovery ❤

this just showed up in my recommended. i have ms, and it took way too long for a doctor to take me seriously when i told them things were going wrong. i have heard so many stories regarding the medical systems and every single one of them seem to start with the same thing --- no one took me seriously --- or something along those lines. its quite infuriating. i do hope you the best of luck. stay positive, keep advocating for yourself, and write everything down :) you got this.
