I remember in the following years after these bombings, there were anniversary marches annually, and the Special Branch detectives would take Photo's and Harass the families and Marchers on the Streets.
They knew all this information, but instead tried to intimidate the crowd.
    Absolutely Shameful, and Traitorous.

Hi John. Regular listener to the Pod. I know you often look for recommendations of guests - My Grandfather is the author of Firefighters of Belfast and was a significant figure in the fire service during the troubles. His name is Brian Allaway. Also, my uncle from my other side of the family was a brigadier for the UDA in the early 90s before the break out of the loyalist feud where he was a prominent figure. Both are still alive.

Could listen to David all day, seems like he’d be a great man to sit in a pub with. I have Spycatcher sitting on a shelf and this is a reason to get stuck into it.

David knows his facts, superb work & research, the British state is well known for its sleekit manipulation of conflicts they involve the British people in. As a Scottish nationalist though not an SNP supporter, it is obvious they have infiltrated a once excellent party for Scottish independence. The collective British people would never have condoned these despicable attacks on a people who have contributed to building Britain in a massive way. In my younger days it was Irish skills & labour that built construction projects from start to finish, great skills & very hard working. These blokes in my experience on building sites in London would have shared their last piece of bread with a stranger. I say this because it was Irishmen on a site in 1989 could see that my brother Stuart was skint & not eating at lunch & put a big plate of food in front of Stuart. Well bless them, Stuart often mentions it & these Irishmen knew oor Stu was a Rangers fan. Legends. ♥

Very interesting new insight into Robert Nairac with regards to his knowledge of Jackson and members of the UVF. But curiously, information as regards Julian Ball and Captain Nightingale remains very sketchy. And at this juncture it seems its going to remain so 🚗🛡

Thanks for the enlightening analysis of
a horrible time in our history.
It was rough back then but it could've
been even worse with there being so many psychopaths
    prepared to sacrifice innocent people.

People in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones, Dublin was balls deep in destroying Northern Ireland. Remember bloody Friday. R.I.P Stephen Parker who was utterly blown to pieces on the Cavehiil road.

We definitely learned about the Dublin Monaghan bombings in secondary school... I even remember what the half page about it looked like.
We did really skim over the troubles as a whole though

According to Joe Tiernan Hanna accompanied Jackson across the border in his chicken lorry which contained the three bombs. Once in the parking lot he oversaw the transfer of the bombs to the designated cars then armed them. The two men didnt linger instead they drove immediately back to Lurgan.

Great insight David and truly filled in some gaps that I hadn't totally grasped into the execution of these horrific sectarian bombings. Very educated and comes across rally well. Thank you so much. Maybe someday all the truth will come out not just for the families but us all. Mary Queen of the Gael pray for them 🙏.
