The new touch only adds a small built in speaker and volume control on the side. All other features you can get for your current touch just by installing iTunes 8 and the new 2.1 software update for the touch. That would even give you the new genius playlist feature.
lol, yeah, the ones with the plastic screens did scratch easy. The new one is glass, so I can do what I did in the video. The Purple one looks blue in certain light, it's very cool, but the blue one is nice too. Either way you'll love it!
you recharge it with the supplied USB cable, but you can also get USB adapters, so you dont have to have it plugged into your computer. FYI: The battery life is about 24hrs on audio and 4hrs on video, which means, that you dont have to recharge it all to often

Question, is it possible to get videos onto it from youtube? I mean, do you have to buy everything off of itunes just to get the video, or can you get like, dvds and crap on there? I tried putting videos from my computer into my itunes librarby but it doesn't work, does ithave to be all mp4?
no you dont have to have itunes u can download songs from a disc and then put it onto your ipod i dont know if its different because i have an itunes account

You can download Itunes Online at the apple Store. When you get to that homepage, look at the tabs then go to Downloads. Also a good color for A 13 yr old boy would be...Blue, Blue, Orange(If he's into unusual colors and stuff), or Red(you can only get Red at the Apple Store though).
It's pretty scratch resistant, but it can scratch against metal or pavement/stone/rock. My wife just drops it in her purse (she's got a lot of stuff in there, and it hasn't scratched yet) I think it'll be nice and safe in an apple sock.

I agree, I don't know anyone who has cracked the the new nano screen, but I do know plenty of people have cracked their iPhone and iPod Touch screens. So I'm sure it can happen.

i agree, but i've noticed the battery isn't drained all that fast when only using it for music. but when watching videos or, worse yet, playing games, the battery is drained horribly quickly. the only solution i could really think of is to have a means of charging it at all times, or avoid playing games or watching videos. I will say that the battery life is pretty much the only downside of the 4G though.

It's just the camera, the purple one is really purple, but in some light it can look more blue or more pink. It's the perfect purple.
Purple ia a sharp color for tht ipod.
Also the Black frame around the screen goes really good with the purple color

in Itunes, go to devices-> Ipod->Movies->Put a tick to Sync movies and then choose what ever "Sync-Mode" you'd like to have

Go onto the main menu, then go onto settings
then to playback - down to shake, then press the central button to toggle between shuffle and off.
either turn off the shuffle to change songs setting in the settings menu or, flip the hold switch to lock it with the other button presses.

i have a nano 4th gen and yeah it is possible, just go through a menu, its really simple to turn the shuffle off :)

You can download the music from limewire, but you have to use iTunes to put it on the ipod.
Those are all personal preferences. If you need the extra space, get it. But remember that the new touch is only $30 more than the new 16GB Nano.
Yes, this can play movies and tv shows, but I would recommend the 16GB model if you want to put movies in there. An average movie is like 1GB.

Yes you can turn off the shake mod. Well you cant really but you can put the "Hold" Button on at the top which turns it off
