    Denis to me seemed to be Pushkars kryptonite because he could always absorb the first hit and that was Andreys most effective weapon ... I wonder if mentally he couldn’t beat him as a possible factor also . Why was Dave more effective in your opinion against Denis (if you agree he was ) excellent video ! Thanks for taking the time you’re both very informative and admirable :)

    • @nvmffs
      @nvmffs Před 2 lety +3

      To be fair Dave was cheating a lot (shoulders not squared, bent wrist) but the main thing is the style and the fact that Dave was climbing while Denis never climbs. He just rests, absorbs and surges. Still, Dave never really beat Denis, his only win was due to an elbow foul.

    I think that 2017 transformed Pushkar. The match vs Michael Todd was a masterclass, and I think he would've won the 2018 supermatch if the tragedy didn't happen. He became much more versatile and developed a press, and that is exactly what he needed to go through Denis's kings move. I don't think we saw even 70% of Andrey's potential.

    • @nvmffs
      @nvmffs Před 2 lety +1

      @YFun-ux5rs Před 2 lety

      Because he was top 3 in the world for like all of 2010’s till his untimely death in 2018. On right, he was second only to Denis and on left, he was consistently up there as well (right under Denis and Devon). He also is very accomplished in terms of tournament titles, multiple times European and world champion. His explosive side pressure based toproll was rarely beaten and he shined especially in tournaments (opposite of someone like Devon who does well in super matches but not so much in tournaments). His potential was cut short however because he was only getting better in the 1-2 years before his death. If he was alive, he would solidly be in the top 3 conversation (maybe even #2 behind Levan).
