SQL is a good start... And you can find linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistic playlist on statquest and 3blue1brown youtube channel... Go through them... For people with no experience I think it would be very good to take advantage of the two-year stayback after the MSc to get some experience (internship) first and then apply for sponsored jobs. Is this a viable approach in the UK?

There aren't many sponsored graduate roles... But yes, having an internship under your belt... Would definitely increase your chances of getting a sponsored job...

You can apply to any kind of jobs... But recruiters might be confused why you did a data science course... So, if you can give a proper justification in your cover letter... You should be fine...
Its all about interest and effort that you are willing to put in... In my batch people who had zero knowledge about data science are also doing really well...
You sure can apply for jobs but if you are asking about PSW, you will not be able to get it as per my knowledge. So, if the company is willing to sponsor you, you can work in the UK.

No... There are coding rounds and sometimes data science related statistical problem solving round... Like to perform a parametric test on a certain dataset and so on...
