Norfolk Southern 8103, Norfolk and Western Heritage unit.

Got a heads up that the 8103 had just left Lehighton for Allentown. That didn't give me much time so I grabbed the video camera and shot over to Northampton, the tripod was already in the car. Not having the time to double check everything I wound up without the quick release plate to attach the camera to the tripod. I did have a suction mount in the car so I used that but it limited me to basically static shots.
It's amazing how fast news seems to travel in the railfan community. When I got to Northampton there at least 5 photographers near the old CNJ Siegfried Station. While the station is scenic the area is hemmed in by trees, shrubs and power lines. I opted to move somewhat south (eastbound by schedule) for my video.

Hey Chris, Just seeing this now (Sunday at 7:52 am), the word was it would probably be moving west out of Allentown yesterday afternoon. That would have put it through Macungie. I hope if it did move you caught it! The friend who gave me the heads up on this move hasn't sent anything else about this so I don't know if it actually did make a move yet. Good luck.

Hey do you know if any of the heritage units are going through Mucungie PA cause i know that line is like the main line to Hersey and then goes all the way to Harrisburg well send me anything if you know about that well thanks from Chris the #1 rail fan in the Lehigh valley
