Если она из второго поколения эмигрантов, то скорее всего понимает лишь разговорную речь, но не печатную. Во всяком случае по опыту знакомых могу сказать, что дети переехавших, как правило, хоть и говорят, но уже не изучают русскую грамматику. Им в школе хватает мороки с немецким и английским. Так что в данном случае наверное нужно, так сказать, спик фром май харт. Или шпрехен зе дойч.
