Agreed, this shouldn't be an event in a game where resource management is priority number one. It hurts long term growth in favor of short term gains. I participated this time but won't in the future. The resources squandered far outweighs a reward that I may or may not get.

You can game it by resetting your sparks and refilling it. You won't win in the rankings, but u can max the gifts given.
Should have the rewards for top 3 at least. I’m around 33k and the top 1 almost 100k .
