Sam Witwer is universally loved by Star Wars fans and his performance is always top notch. He appears in a lot of Star Wars material, it helps that he’s a big Star Wars fan, so he knows what he’s doing and has respect for the source material.

I remember you mentioning that you liked how ahsoka held her saber in the 2008 movie which was released the same year as THIS. Both anakin and vaders apprentices had backwards grips on their sabers!

If you liked Mass Effect and are still in your Star Wars era, I would definitely suggest you check out Knights of the Old Republic, which is what BioWare did before the first Mass Effect. It is considered one of the best Star Wars games (as well as the sequel).
Yes though it's important to mention that the sequel was made by obsidian, which is also considered to be the better kotor game between the two by a lot of people including myself.
This game is a blast, it’s basically God of War but God of Force instead, you’ll love it for sure. I think every Star Wars fan ends up with a favorite random Jedi, mine is Rahm Kota.
For a game from 2008 it still holds up till this day.
This and 2 are two games that use the Euphoria engine as a physics engine, the same engine used for the physics of GTA, the first to use it was GTA 4 and now all Rockstar games use it.

@@Ronuk1996 The Euphoria engine was not used in it, I didn't find any information either on the game's wiki or on the engine saying it was used.

@@Ronuk1996 yes, from gta 4 in 2008 and not in Rockstar Table tennis which is from 2006, euphoria was not used in it, only rage, which has nothing to do with euphoria, are two different ones.
@@andrwsarmestrong1170 if I Remember correctly RDR1 and gta4 both use euphoria engine, RDR1 euphoria physiques reaction from enemies getting shot and falling is very satisfying and better to this day than other Rockstar games.

God this game is my Childhood. Yes the fights are super anime at times but the story, the cutscenes, *the soundtrack!*
And that's without mentioning all the character and level designs and voice acting!
16:36 Some Mass Effect players seem a tad obsessed with Liara and basically riot if you romance anyone but her.
She is considered one of the biggest Canon romances by a lot of the fandom. I was a Tali boy myself, but upon playing Legendary Edition after not touching any ME games for YEARS- Liara just seemed like a fun, natural choice.
I mean yeah Tali is the shy nerdy girl, Miranda is the hot one, Jack is the crazy (probably nasty) one and Ashley is....Ashley, but Liara is wife material
She has one of the most developed romance questlines in the franchise, so it kinda makes sense. But Garrus will always be my main man.
The soundtrack of this game is just perfect. I remember as a kid to wait on the menu every time I booted It up just to listen to the main theme.
You notice how a lot of the music in these old Star Wars games are just pulled straight from the movies 😂

Starkiller not being canon blows.
Aw, man this game's a classic! One of the best Star Wars games out there; I'm sure you'll have a great time playing it! If you're looking for other Star Wars titles, I would personally recommend Republic Commando. A relatively short, but exciting and unique game in the Star Wars library

Along with the KotOR games, they're arguably some of the best now non-canon/Legends/Expanded Universe Star Wars content.
Absolutely please do a full playthrough of the first game at the very least.
I once beat this game twice in one night when I was in grade school needless to say I failed my test the next day
I think some others have mentioned Sam Witwer here (the actor who did the motion-capture for Starkiller), and he's awesome - he grew up a huge Star Wars fan and this was his dream come true. He's been working with Lucasfilm ever since and you'll hear his voice in a lot of characters in both The Clone Wars and Rebels, and even here and there in the sequel trilogy and some of the live-action shows on Disney+. Guy is almost as close as you can get to George Lucas in his knowledge and understanding of Star Wars.
This game was my introduction to Star Wars games and Part 2 is still one of my top favorites 💯
Little did meg know the force unleashed was once cannon. Then the empire executed order 66 on these beloved stories. These stories are now known as THE EXPANDED UNIVERSE.
It was always known as "The Expanded Universe"
Nowadays it is called "Legends" (and yeah, also discontinued) to draw a clearer line to what the "new canon" material is
Honestly, "canon" should only matter to the story tellers rather than the "listeners". For the rest of us, really, we should be open to whatever. It's all part of the story in one way or another, if you can implement the use of headcanon.
One day Starkiller will be canon. It will be easy to make him an inquisitor.

@@huntertezz It's true, they did plan on making him an inquisitor. Personally, I think people wouldn't have been happy since they'd have to have nerfed Starkiller pretty hard in order for him to fit into the scale of things in canon. That's why I'm kind of fine with this game being non-canon, as awesome as it is.
Better to let a mad power fantasy (even by Star Wars standards) exist in Legends in my opinion, that's a better place for a character like this.
This game is pure fan service and I absolutely love it. I can't count how many times I have beaten this.

The Forced Unleashed is probably one, if not the best story based Star Wars games of all time.
Set in the original canon timeline, before Disney created their own version of the Star Wars canon. I like to actually think TFU is a proper canon story right before Star Wars Episode IV.
Still think its a crime there was never a force unleashed movie or at least a mini series.

I actually prefer TFU 2 over 1, it just feels less clunky and more polished. both are a lot of fun, highly recommend both in order.
have you played the original force unleashed as the version everyone talks about is a downgrade from the original

@@yourpancake652 you should look at gameplay of the Wii version it's a whole different game yeah the graphics are not as good but it has the most content. My favorite level is when you go to cloud city but on the downgrade versions they skip over my favorite boss battle
This game is one of the best Star Wars game out there, but I wish the official version was remastered with the graphics of the pc version, but with the PSP and Wii elements and story. To me it makes much more sense that in the first mission we get 501st clone troopers instead of stormtroopers given the timeline of the game...

Nice! I remember having a lot of fun with this one! My favorite Star Wars games growing up were the Dark Forces series (Dark Forces, Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, and Jedi Knight: Outcast), but I’d rank this one as right up there with those 3! 😁
Sam Witwer as Starkiller and Matt Sloan as Vader are so awesome🔥 Matt Sloan should become the permanent Vader voice. Some people like Scott Lawrence but his voice isn't quite as menacing as Matt's. You can feel Vader's constant rage and anger with Matt.
The force unleashed main menu theme is so good! I wish the game got a remake or remaster I'm ngl
I remember playing this on gamecube and having the ability to collect hilts that you could customize your lightsaber with. I assume that was only in the gamecube version because I now have it on my xbox 360(yes I know I'm behind the times) and that isn't one of the collectibles. It's still an awesome game though and there's some sick DLC as well.

Killing jedis is still Vader’s main job. He’s just secretly outsourcing it to Starkiller so that he can get practice and grow strong enough to help Vader usurp the Emperor.
Starkiller, a character too powerful for the main series, one of the best as well though, you're going to love this game.
Yeah. That’s why, as cool as he is, I feel like he’s way too powerful for the movies. They practically made him a superhero. And they can’t have him outshine Luke, or Vader. IMO.

When Vader realizes that this Jedi has a son, I believe in that moment he can't help but see what his life could have been if things had turned out differently. After all, at this point in time he is completely under the belief that he is responsible not only for Padme's death but the death of his unborn child... a daughter or son that he could have had.
But the Dark Side being an all-corrupting force of evil, it twists Vader's selfless desire to have a family into selfish ambition to take this boy as his apprentice to overthrow his master. Vader knows that he can't take Sidious alone because of him being permanently crippled and in life support armor, so he sees this boy as his key to finally getting out from under the thumb of the Emperor.

If you haven't watched the cinematic trailers for star wars the old republic you should watch them all and do a reaction on them.
Star Wars games that came out on the PS2 have a special place in my heart.
The wii version was so much fun! It also had different cut scenes.

This is one of the best Star Wars games ever made. For me, it's right behind KOTOR and Republic Commando.
If you like Bualder's Gate you will like Styx Master of Shadows.
When I played it for the first Time I was overwhelmed and happy that you could play on the Dark Side. It was also a lot of Fun taking out the annoying Wookies.

I honestly have my own theory that Vader protected Starkiller as a child bc Anakin saw what his future could have been. Seeing a jedi have a son, and teaching him in the ways of the force is kinda what Anakin wished he could have had with Padme and their children before his downfall. He probably sees Starkiller as a messed up replacement for what he could have had, a family. Its still vader though so he likely also targets Starkiller with a lot of projected anger as well from losing his family.
Starkiller is one of my favorite Legends characters I hope we see him in current day canon in some incarnation ^^
His actor is Sam Witwer and he’s the biggest Star Wars nerd ever and I love him.
Star Wars used to be my Special Interest and my current SI is D&D and it turns out that his brother Michael Witwer is the biggest D&D nerd who writes D&D art books like Art and Arcana and the Legend of Drizzt Visual Dictionary. I can’t help but think that a conversation with the two would be the most fun one ever xD

I think a good thing to have to understand what is and isnt canon is the book "Star Wars Timelines." Barring stuff released at and post publication date of the book; if its in that book then its canon

Hey meg can we get the force unleashed 2 after this game.
Unsure if you already said something about it, but SWTOR might just be right up your alley aswell. Its very similar to the other Bioware games (Mass Effect and Dragon Age), and although its an MMO, the main focus is definitely singleplayer and on the stories. And youd get to interact with the community in-game too. Its a bit stagnant now but there is tons of content (8 class stories + 6 expansions).
But sadly, its content is also Legends like Force Unleashed.

Oooo I'm excited to see this playthrough! I myself was brought up on the Wii version which was actually really cool with the Wiimote controlling the lightsaber moves and the nunchuck controlling the Force powers. The story is mostly the same but playing the Xbox version years later, I preferred the Wii gameplay tbh (not the graphics tho yeesh lol).
