Status Quo one of Britains biggest & best Live bands ever!!! They’ve sold 130m records worldwide, unfortunately they’ve been ignored in North America due to poor management & a serious lack of airplay. They have a massive back catalogue & are worth checking out, especially the albums from 1972 - 1977.
Cold opening Live Aid. A BILLION pairs of eyes watching.
Yup, thats how they opened for Live Aid in 1985.
There really couldn't have been another first song for that day.
Other famous Status Quo songs are "Down down" and "Caroline".
Those are the real deal!
No contest.
All the Reasons is good & not in the normal head dangling style, I saw the in 82 in Milton Keynes Bowl 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Finally! Some Status Quo on this channel! 😃 super happy! They’re rock n roll legends 👏
The whole top and bottom of it that creedence fan doesn't want to admit quos version is better
Status quo is the best ever ♡
Now you can see what the rest of us have been enjoying since the 70s.. I've seen Quo Live a lot of times, and they never ever disappoint - good to see you getting your own moves on ... thats what The Mighty Quo do for you ... Fab stuff dude ...
Opening number of the legionary 'LIVE AID' gig from Wembley stadium London.
80k + in the stadium and tens of millions watching worldwide on television, the US concert followed on from phiadephia with Phil Collins crossing the pond on concorde to play at both concerts.
Goes down in history as a momentous day
I remember that here in Oz, a mate and I spent most of the time watching the whole thing. I doubt we missed a second of the UK gig, but got a bit bored with the US one. Besides it was a hot day and we were thirsty by then.
"I can hear John Fogarty doing this song"
There is actually a very good reason for you thinking that!
😂😂😂
Really great comment 😂
@@torbjornandersson6027 🤣🤣🤣
Best comment I've seen on this channel 😅
The best rock n roll band ever to come out of the UK.
Straight to the point here I love c c w r and John fogerty wrote R A O T W but to be honest with you I've watched creedence playing there song and quo but quo rules john fogertys song far better version.........anyway sorry to you creedence fans bit that's my opinion
Erm, The Stones?
They're one of many.
Hell yes more quo please! They have a whole bunch of great songs like "caroline", "roll over lay down", "paper plane", "down the dustpipe", "whatever you want", not to mention "roadhouse blues". The medleys "anniversary waltz part 1 and 2" are a load of fun too.
oh yes 👍
Imagine growing up without status quo. Saw them 1974. Still going
You are part of the Quo Army now 🤘
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I have watched quite a few clips like this before, of people listening and responding to a song they don't know. Never before though have I seen the listener totally going mental... But hey, this is The Quo at their best after all, covering Fogerty's song and improving on it. No surprise really, ROCKING ALL OVER THE WORLD!!!
Great reaction! ALL their stuff is feel good. Thats a DEEP dive but you'll not come back. Peace!
My favourite group ever!!!! Yessss they really are that good brilliant songs there amazing live just turn up the volume and rock on 🤘
This is a fine example of when a cover can be better than the orignal version.. Quo 4ever!! ;)
Hell Yes!!!! Status Quo are a brilliant band. Check out Caroline, Down Down, Paper Plane, Ice In The Sun, Pictures of Matchstick Men, Burning Bridges, In The Army Now, Down The Dustpipe, Living on an Island, Ol' Rag Blues,Whatever You Want, Something About You Baby I Like. I first watched Quo live in 1991 at the age of 8 years old and watched them on there 40th anniversary show in 2009.
I love the way you think and talk! Bless you. 🙏🏻
@@MichelBiesot I still have in my wallet from the last Quo gig I attended, one of Rick Parfitt’s guitar pics that I asked him for.
Oh man, you have to do more from the Quo. One of the biggest Rock‘n‘Roll acts in Europe since decades. And live absolutely amazing. Saw them a few years ago at a Festival before ZZ-Top - they stole Top the show… just try „Whatever you want“, „What you‘re proposing“ or „The Wanderer“. You will feel immediatly happy 👍 thanks for the reaction and all the best from Austria - keep on rockin‘!
And these are just some covers! Please listen to the albums 'Piledriver' and 'On the Level', the 2 best lp's (no cd's at the time yet!), we as diehard fans "Most of the time" like, those are the best! Bless you with it. Greetings from out of the Netherlands.
Grew up as a kid in the 70s, born May 23rd 1968, always loved the quo,,! Even my late gran liked them,,! God Bless from northern Ireland UK 🤝🇬🇧
One of the Greatest Live Bands in Music History....same Level as AC/DC for sure....Super Mega Stars ALL OVER THE WORLD.....shame on you that you never ever heard about them !
Status quo never made it in America dude. He's American
Finally some Quo! Now you have innumerable other classics to listen to.
Yessss! This song is a bit "pop-orientated" Quo, mainstream if you will. To get some hard-rock-orientated Quo you need to listen to "Down Down", "Little Lady", "Rain" and Bye Bye Johnny".
45 hundred times is one of there best songs gotta listen to it people you will love it by status quo brilliant the quo all the way Caroline down down, what your proposing, paper plane, roll over lay down. just great love um
Your right 45 hundred times, brilliant !
I was there, down at the front, queued for 4 bloody days, but boy was it worth it.
Down down, deeper down, - in your paper plane ,- whatever you want!
Yeah! They are really great fun and I'm so glad you like it - Luuuuurve the Quo!
Loved your reaction, thank you for appreciating the amazing Status Quo,🤙
Yes!!! Go the Quo! One of THE bands from my '70s childhood. Definitely more please (still trying to get over the fact that they're unfamiliar to you - a grave error which must be corrected!😀) Song suggestions: Whatever You Want, Roll Over Lay Down, What You're Proposing, Something 'Bout You Baby I Like, Rolling Home, Burning Bridges, Marguerita Time, etc.
Amen, sister! 🙏🏻
From what I can remember back then as just a mid 20yr-old on this day, the Quo had just finished what I think was an 80 gigs in 80 days tour of the UK a day or 2 earlier? So their bodies were about shot - and so were their vocal chords . . . But Bob Geldof asked them to open the Live Aid show for him with this song as a part of their small song set to get it all going with the crowd . . . After they had finished it, I am sure that they then had to leave Wembley to catch a waiting booked Concorde flight - so as to open the same show taking place in the US a few hours later with the same set . . . mainly as Concorde could get them over to the US in less than 4 hours . . . I could be wrong, but I think I'm right about this???? (I hope?)
I think it was Phil Collins, rather than Status Quo, who took the Concord across the Atlantic after his Wembley Live Aid set, so that he could also perform at Live Aid in Philadelphia.
I have listen to this song so many times 😊🤘
How you as a Rock'n Roll fan did not know this song so far, is literally beyond my imagination 😆
Was just thinking the exact same thing, this is one of the most essential rock songs of all time!
@@AHVENAN Quo were regulated to the "status" of one-hit wonders in the US, the one hit being "Matchstick Men'. Aside from that, they are virtually unknown over here...
Cause quo ain't big in usa didn't yeall no that
@@bm3738 "yeall no".... wow.... I honestly don't KNOW what to say 😅😅🤣🤣
EDIT: except.... the song itself is a cover from CCR btw
@@bm3738 Hello, Credance fan? John fogerty wrote it!
Just seen myself about 6 rows back from the stage. Great opening song by Quo, and a great concert overall, when Freddie and Queen came on later it was unbelievable. Still get goose bumps watching it , no matter how many times I see it.
Finally !!!!
It warms my heart to see an American get so excited about a band I have loved for all of my adult life . This is not there best (in my humble oppinion )alltho maybe there most well known song .
Big crowd there and another 1.5billion watching on tv around the world . . . .
Haha love your reaction! /love from Sweden
This was live aid, that's why the huge crowd. Down Down was their best song
Thank you for doing Quo they were my dads favourite band unfortunately he's no longer with us but seeing someone who's never heard them enjoying himself to all their songs is fantastic I've also enjoyed every reaction I've watched of yours keep going my friend you make watching these videos fun so once again thankyou ❤😊
Every other band on the planet missed the opportunity to open for Live Aid. This song got played a million times!
Welcome to the Quo family🏴
I like the funny way way he pronounces the word status - Stattus :)
fuck yeah, the quo rock, been seeing them live since i was a lad, and there still going strong with 33 studio albums and no signs of letting up
i've quickly become a fan
@@MrRockNRollLive despite them being pretty much unknown outside the uk, they have amassed a fair number of great achievements
@@MrRockNRollLive definitely a band to keep reacting to
@@bigfrankfraser1391 And they have millions and millions fans all over Europe! One of the best sold live-acts tbh.
@@MichelBiesot its weird how despite there international success, there still known as a band without major international success
Frank is awesome!!! What a great song to request.
Knew this was gonna get ya going!!

No I'm not.
@@Crankulous 🤣… sure you are
Mr Rock n Roll rule
My all time favourite band
I really wish I would have gone to see them when I lived in England I moved to the United States in 1992 from uk yes I'm a brit they are so underrated status quo but they are brilliant so many hits so many great songs love the band 😊
Status Quo...(State-Us Quo). Check out their Milton Keynes concert on their 'End of the Road' Tour. 1:30:00 minutes of pure ROCK!
I agree, and I was there and loved every second.
@@1972piledriver Cool! I've seen them twice in the Netherlands. They gave great shows during live performances!
It’s great to see Americans discovering the mighty quo better late than never 🤘
Happy days ,thanks for enjoying that, good luck to you.
Big big big back in the 70s, and I loved them. Still do. And with a coupld of replacements they are still playing , I understand. You need to hear Down Down, and Whatever You Want. To start with.
Status Quo have been slated in the U.K. for years for being a 3 chord band, but they have had many hits during their time. They are a great “feel good” band which is what rock and roll is all about. Have a listen to “matchstick men” to see another side of them.
Check out Status Quo-live at the proms.Backed by a full symphony orchestra..... awesome isn't the word to describe it.
Just check out the Frantic Four, they are awesome.
The best rock and roll band ever❤❤❤
Quo were so full of Bolivian Marching Powder on Live Aid, they couldn't remember it
That's a band coming on early in the line-up and saying follow this!
Hi there just subscribed .Seen this come up on my feed Quo is brill and noticed your into most bands i listen to.going bye your wall behind you lol
I remember that I heard that rhythm decades ago in the radio, I believe it was this song.
Just seen this No Band could have opened this Because we did Rock all over the World for this Day, this Cause..💎🙏I will always love this.Queen, well yeah.
Iconic UK Rockers
Watched this live on the day, kept up with the TV broadcast until I had to go to work at 5pm.
Btw. They have played their last gig in the UK today and I am gonna mis them dearly!
Just a history update. The quo, they became famous early seventies. Cable tv and bbc was all in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. And it wss the glitter time. All bands were sounding a bit as status quo. But, no glitter for this band. It all started with, Down Down. 1974. But today, on youtube, i appreciated that music so much. Status Quo made more then 30 albums and many hit songs in many styles too. Great group.
Great band this song was originally written and recorded by John Fogerty
Yes, and Fogerty's version is very lame.
Love your reaction, mate. So genuine. Ya just love it, don't ya. Brilliant
Pronounced "Staytus Quo". 😉 R. A. O. T. W, was the first song from the first group to play at the Live Aid charity concert at Wembley in 1985. All proceeds went to help the famine relief in Ethiopia. Live Aid came off the back of the charity single from Band Aid, 'Do they know it's Christmas {heal the world}' the year before. Quo also played on that single along with most well known British pop artists of that time. Now it's time to see Queens contibution to the concert.
A nice Quo song to chill out to is, 'Living on an Island'. Written by the late Rick Parfitt (blonde guitarist) taking a tax year and living on the tax haven island of Jersey.
Pronounced "Stay - tus Quo"? No, they live in the United 'Stats' of America! 🤣
@@MJWPub There are people who pronounce it as the 'Stettus Kwo', but it ain't no big thing. We just love them!
Listen to whatever you want
Simply the best, been to two live shows, Love them
This song was written by Fogerty from CCR
need to check out caroline which is Quo's concert opener, always gets things going straight away
The 2017 show at Wacken absolutely slaps.
This was written by John Fogarty and opened the whole Live Aid thing around the world.
John Fogerty wrote this song that's why you get the CCR comparisons.
YEAH!
It's great..!
You need to check out their best song, "Roll Over Lay Down..." Yes, it's as dirty as it sounds.
My boys from way back in the late 1960s. They were HUGE, and they're STILL touring after 50-plus years...without two members who passed away unfortunately.
Hi Dude, its pronounced "Staytus" Quo. Glad you liked Rockin All Over The World. Its the best for playing air guitar to :)
Listen to the live album from 76. Recorded at the legendary Glasgow Apollo, saw quo here a few times and you could see the balcony move epic band
They filled my local stadium in 86, EPIC!!!
Quo played Knebworth! With Queen! In '86 ...
Greetings from Ireland, check out an endless list .You'll discover Paper Plane ,Caroline,Backwater,Down Down, whatever you want and dozens more .They released a storming version of roadhouse blues it's about 10 mins long and longer live! Start with the Pile-driver album and work your way through the 70s you definitely will enjoy. Look out for Paper Plane from the marquee club in 1972 it shows them in the early days just when they were about to explode!
The song you just watched was written by John Fogarty. What you just watched was them kicking off Live Aid.
Dude you need to see their live aid performance 1985
You are crazy man 🤘👏
please more Status Quo 👍
I can't believe you never heard of Status Quo and get you like music !
Only one of the biggest best selling bands in the world.
LOOK FOR A CZcams VIDEO CALLED "Status Quo at the Proms"
The proms being a massive every year mostly classical every year event with one of the best full classical orchestras in the world.
They play "Whatever you want" in the centre of this orchestra with them joining in . It's Epic seeing these classical musicians join in it really is. You got guys with double bases holding them like guitars. Awesome
They are the family band. Every wedding, engagement or birthday bash we do the status quo dance routine!
Saw them in a small night club in Liverpool UK 1970 ish up close and personal fuckin loud !
This song was written by John Fogerty of CCR.
A favourite in my family! My mum loved them that much she had her signed photo with them from the 80s put in her coffin! The song leaving the funeral was Down Down by them lol she had to have the last laugh lol
Well, John Fogerty of CCR wrote "Rockin all over the world".
Dave.
Status Quo had been around for a while when CCR fas founded..
Status quo est toujours aussi puissant que le temps....
More quo, more please
Hey Rock and Roll! I hope things are good with you. I'm an old rocker who remembers the early days of Elvis, Buddy Kolly, Eddie Cochrane, Beatles, Stones, Status Quo, Creadence, Ramones etc. May I suggest an addition for your appraisal. The voice of an angel.
Mory Hopkin live at the Royal Festival Hall 1972, "Aderyn Pyr"
Sorry for the spelling mistakes. It should, of course be, Buddy Holly, and Mary Hopkin. Have a good one.
He says - I can actually hear John Fogerty singing this. Oh where to start.....
Helloween - Keeper on the seven keys.
Helloween - The king for all 1000 years.
Saludos.
this is from the same live aid concert that had queen on later
Wembley stadium 😊
If you've seen the Bohemian Rhapsody movie about Queen, this is the same concert featured in that film. The very first song of the very first Live Aid concert and a perfect choice.
Status Quo (the British pronunciation is "Stay-tus") were much mocked for "every song sounding the same" (not true) and "only 3 chords" (not true) and "just 1 bar blues" (also not true) but in their prime (which lasted a long time) they were one of the greatest rock n roll bands. No pretension, just fun music played well by a tight band. Often imitated, never beaten.
