"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant" -Robert Louis Stevenson
Gotta love listening to the classics in the combine!
Yes, we are going to love it. Make Farming Great like it always has been.
Signing off like a boss! Always looking forward to your videos, they are the best agri educational videos one could find. Keep them great.
Wolf Thank you!
Great vid. Love the ending. Will be waiting for the drone videos.
I grew up on a dairy farm in wi. I sure do have equipment envy. Our biggest tractor was a 830 JD tiny aside of your stuff
Thanks for sharing. Nice video. Liked the DT wrap.
Loved all the random bits n pieces 👍
I enjoy how well farming has advanced in the last few years, I farmed in the 80' s with equipment that was modern at that time but really enjoyed how far some of the equipment has come. A lot of your viewers may not be aware of some of the costs it takes to raise a bushel of grains and how big a gamble it is to produce that crop.
Brent Farrow that's for sure!!
The government makes sure u never go broke!!! Are u kidding me!!! I drive truck for a living when freight goes south we don't get help from the government
Cool vid, can't wait till the next one.
True to your word, the channel is great.
It was only flat on the bottom.
I remember cold weather and if I want a reminder Truckee, CA is about 80 miles east
Thanx from the left coast near the Crapitol of California
your videos are the best stay safe and keep farming
You never have all the rocks, it is amazing on how fast and well they grow every year
i think a video of the equipment (tractors, tools, harvester/combines) would be cool
Haaaa the good ol' Lloyd Christmas hair days. 😂
love the end!! lol
Love the ending!
Good luck with the editing, though you had good editing on this video IMO.
Your doing what you can, when you can, and how you can. Not jumping radically into something. Seems smart to me!
Great video again. Looks like a good harvest we were not so lucky up here in Central Ontario. No rain during the growing months left us with half a crop. Hopefully we Trump out of it in 2017 lol. Interested on how you winterize your sprayer.
69druth Sorry to hear that, I hope you have a more bountiful 2017! We drain the sprayer well and then we run RV antifreeze through the entire system. Pretty simple process.
o I hate it when tires get flat on the bottom!!
Thank God for the fly over states.
new sub. love to watch other people farm. Cause im a farmers helper here in NC. and like to see what other farmers do
Paul C Thanks for the sub!
Does ur dog ever ride with you in the tractors
What we normally do is plant wheat in the winter before and after cotton harvest then plant cotton in the spring into the wheat for cover crop. What we normally do is we have 8 fields we plant in wheat and only 4 we plant in cotton and plow the other fields in the summer.
Catching up with videos. Since that time have you changed your views of this administration and the care for farmers (people) of America? I like you because you care about family and your product. I have many friends that do not agree with me but we learned to love each other in spite of our differences. Love how you have learned to produce and edit. Sure it is your wife who carries the load.
It's hard to get all them rocks that's for sure man I tell you what we had some days of cleaning up some pretty nasty fields and it was all by hand pretty much I remember times out disking I would throw the rock on top of the desk and keep on hauling ass LOL you got some of the best videos everybody I hope you get so many subscribers that ain't funny because you deserve it for your age and how you farm and what you know and seeing your shop and where you keep your seeds and how clean and neat you got to love that and it makes it more interesting very cool and I like the big shop how you can pull the whole tractor trailer in and especially in the winter because Winters are vicious up there where you're at if people don't really know I mean your video today where the wind was kicking karate Joe and you get that in the winter when it 70 below zero that makes everything for an interesting day because nothing likes to work when it's that cold LOL but keep it safe bro and we will see you on another one that's for sure
We do not no till often. Clay dirt and sand soil are hard to work with
Hope you follow How Farms Work and The Rest of the Story. Ryan and Travis Kuster are young farmers like you and post videos on CZcams about most everything they do on their corn and bean farms. They have a lot of hilly rolling land and are good stewards of their land by using terraces and waterways to control their erosion. I just discovered your channel and can tell you too are a good steward of your land.
Dude that squirrel took that fall like a fucking champion! 😂😂
Austin Black he didn't even stutter!
Production value had improved a bit over the years. This looks like I'm watching it on VHS.
That was a great video it was a lot of fun . I have one sugestion though if you turn that tire over it is a lot easier fixing the top .
Howard Younger I never thought of that, thanks!!
I thought we had picked all those rocks😂
Great season 1, can't wait for the Winter Special leading into Season 2 of MN Millennial Farmer. By the by, how do you scheduled family vacations with all that work going on?
ANonPaidAttorneySpokesperson Family vacations have been only in January or February all of my life! Just recently we started going on a short camping trip or 2 every summer.
MN Millennial Farmer
Good, All work and No Play...

Zach your hair looks like Jim Carey in dumb and dumber - glad the 2020 look is an improvement
how many land use for farming
Are you guys going to do a live stream ?
you should tell us the equipment you run
Do you use the corn for animal feed.
3300 subscribers in 8 months is pretty good. You got one more now. Interesting vids. I farm a little bit in Indiana. Thanks for the great effort!
57fitter Thank you!
You're very welcome. I've been to MN one time to Austin to get a 720 John Deere cylinder head. Pretty farm country.
I help my uncle hhfarming Indiana
How long does it take you to switch the combine over from corn to beans?
Not long. Switching the header takes about 5 minutes. Then there are a few settings to switch on the combine itself that take probably another 10 minutes with 1 person. Then changing the monitor to run the corn head maybe takes another 3 and that's about all there is to it.
So how's it going with the tariff.
LMAO, apparently it hasn't fazed him
How fast are you going when you harvest..
3-4 mph
Question - Are those birds following close behind to find food(worms)?
Jake Finnegan Yes they are eating the worms, bugs, seeds, etc...
Yup
How many birds per acre do you produce?
I am so envious of your beautiful place, absolutely love your equipment!!!!!! If your ever looking to adopt, please call me. Can I/we get a farm tour via video? Thanks and keep up the great work!!!!
Jason Procai I have had several ask for a tour, so I will do my best to get something together at some point.
How many acres do you farm? You've got some big fields.
He farms 2500
Any new updates or new videos? Greetings from Spain!
Martin Ezcurra I will have a new video within a few days!
Good video! Do you plow to plow the soil after the harvest? Do you will have a catch crop now? Do you wait until spring?
Answer in your free time. Greetings!
Paweł Kędziorski Yes we plow after harvest. We have long cold winters and there is no time to plant another crop so we have to wait until spring.
What kind of machine to plow the field?
We do a plow, and this is probably old technology. mr.wipie.ur.krakow.pl/rozdz1/rys1/Ryc.%201.35.jpg
Paweł Kędziorski We still use a plow just like that sometimes. Usually we use a deep ripper, it's a John Deere 2700.
Thank you for answer. Do you see the difference in yield between a plow and deep ripper?
What a hair cut Zach
Great Trump impression! 👏👍
Millennial looks like you run a good operation there.. were about the same age I farm in central Illinois and completely understand your videos... it's so amazing to me how people are so disconnected from agriculture theses days and how little they know about the process.. I no till/strip till about half my acres and till the other half some soils are suited for each.. its funny people that no nothing about soils wanna tell us how to farm... I do what is beats for each farm.. unfortunately everyone doesn't do that but I guess if guys wanna farm half the county that isn't possible lol... us average sized farmers imo do a much better job for land owners and the environment... unfortunately not everyone sees that and only see dollar 💵 signs... carry on and keep up the good work ... our yields were good this year also... beans were excellent and corn well above average
farmermatt629 Thanks! Next year we are hoping to try some strip till acres and also we will be experimenting a little with cover crops. the hard part about cover crops here is that our soybeans come off in late September to early October and we start getting freezes right away, so getting growth out of them is hard. We also have cold, wet springs so that is a concern also. I plan on continuing with the channel and letting everyone know what we're finding.
MN Millennial Farmer strip Till is usually my best yielding fields but be patient it took several years to come around.. also first few years is tough with residue because we no till beans after corn where we strip... but after a few years microbes take care of residue... sometimes in fall I will run 30' salford tool lightly over stalks just to get them on ground and breaking down... I have. A strip till farm that has been stripped and no tilled for 15 years rolling ground... two years ago corn made 296 dry... no joke it works but take your time make good strips and when everyone else is planting wait 2-3 more days if strips are cold/wet... Looks like your on auto steer upgrade your planter/ fall ammonia tractor to rtk and you will be happy with it... I tried two acres of cover crops this fall up and doing good ... going to soybeans next year just a lil experiment
you want to do a video on your equipment and show us a little bit what's going on with the farm. enjoy your videos new to your Channel
how many acres is your farm
Jennifer Loveridge We currently farm about 2,600 acres
When you have a flat, instead of putting a new bottom on the tire, just get a used one and take the top of that to replace the bottom. As you know, it's the bottoms that always go flat, and tops and bottoms are generally interchangeable. Tire dealers have a compatibility interchange booklet if you're not sure! (Wonder how many people caught your tire joke.)
what kind size is your guys. cultiavter. from.jd
back woods country Hallgren The ripper I'm pulling in this video is 17.5 feet. it's a 7 shank 2700. Our field cultivator is 55 feet.
I’m from the future. There is going to be a toilet paper shortage. Start saving the cobs, bundle in packs of 12 and stockpile as many as possible. You’re gonna get rich! 😂
i mean shouldn't we tell him more important that here in the future across the border of Minnesota the nazi chi nya doing military drill in snow ....preparing for a future invasion
Nice set up , how many acres are u farmen
michael dea 2,500

Ritter ranch ritter Not as often as I used to but occasionally
did you go deer hunting this past weekend?
Ritter ranch ritter No I'm waiting to go muzzle-loading once we slow down
You should just fire off your half done videos - you've put the time in and I bet we'll enjoy them!

MN Millennial Farmer
I hope they did for I did well that election now that's a real come back well good for him, well I did not vote for either one when I voted lol
And you can sit over there and not complain about anything either since you threw your vote! Thats how it works when you vote for the Second Hillary Jill Stein claiming you aren't voting for the corruption.
2nd American revolution Trump 2017
Not for soy beans farmers, apparently...
