Hey folks, just watched episode 1,2 and 3, and enjoyed all of them! They have given us a flavour of what we'll hopefully experience during our own adventure paddling the same trip this summer. Quick question; when did you guys start and finish the trip? Looking forward to the next episode/s, thanks for sharing.

Hi frdrckcole, I am so happy that these videos have helped you in your preparations for your awesome adventure, these were my exact intentions. We took 13 days to complete the journey from Johnsons Crossing to Minto, I think the recommended duration is 10 days but we spent 2 nights at 3 camps along the way which was a great decision, it gave us time to chill out at camp, do some fishing and exploring. If you have the extra time I totally recommend taking this approach. We left on the 23 July 2018 and completed on the 4th August 2018, as you can see from the videos we had perfect weather every single day, the only day which turned a bit sour was the last day which seemed totally in sync with our mood. If you have any other questions or need a second opinon on anything then please drop me a message. I am sure I will be able to edit the remaining videos by the time you go on your trip.

@@twothewilderness6915 thanks for your reply! Two more questions; which hotel did you stay at and did you use a hire car to get around Whitehorse or did you just walk/taxi to the shops etc?

@@frdrckcole We stayed at the Elite Hotel which was well located with UpNorthAdventures. Canadian Tire, Walmart and some of the other food shops are across town which is about a 20 minute walk. We did not hire a car, just carried a backpack and bought bags from the store. It was manageable, however im sure you could take a taxi if you wanted to do a big shop.

@@twothewilderness6915 That's great to know! We are really looking forward to our trip especially after watching your videos. We have done a lot canoeing in Ontario, Scandinavia, Scotland, Eastern and central Europe but none in the north west of Canada. So our planned trip is going to be a new experience and in a region we are not familiar with. It's going to be great! If you are interested you can read my blog from our month long trip in Ontario last summer - www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/56178-An-Ontario-Odyssey-Canada Thanks for all of your advice, Fred

@@@frdrckcole, really nice write up and great photos too! I am also looking for our next adventure and I'm interested to know which rivers you have canoed in Europe? Multiday, wild camping trips are my type of thing, so if you have any suggestions then please let me know.
