Love how well kept it is and the European architecture is extremely prevalent! Beautiful
Well… the nice parts are well kept much like any big city. Montreal actually has some massive trash and litter problems depending on on the neighborhood
@@GavinMichaels Ummm... What neighborhood ?
I'm a Montrealer, and i'm not aware of any ''massive trash and litter problems"
Little anecdote... I had an American girfriend from St. Louis, and she said Montreal is the cleanest city she ever visited.
I went to Montreal Canada 2 weeks ago.
I was in Old Montreal. I absolutely loved it. I am planning on going back in a few. Can't wait. I will visit these places when I go again.
No there is even a english part of montreal and italian@@johnbender2806
@@johnbender2806in live here in Montréal most of the people are bilingual but the more you stay away from downtown the more they speak French
@@johnbender2806no matter where you are in the city, even if you go away from downtown, you can easily be served in English. People here speak easily 2 to 3 languages minimum.
A friend of mine played in the NHL for 10 years and he said that Montreal is by far the best city in north America to visit.
@@JB0i John Alexander Ogrodnick. He was the Detroit Red Wings top scorer for 6 consecutive seasons. In 1984 he scored 55 goals. We went to high school together in Edmonton, Alberta.
I was there I had tears in my eyes at the basilica. It is so beautiful.
@@mathewvanostin7118 I've been to Notre Dame de Paris, and multiple Cathédrale on the west coast of France all of them took my breath but and la Basilique notre Dame too is beautiful.
@@mathewvanostin7118 That's a 'great' equivalency... Comparing a 300 year old city to cities in a thousand year old continent...
Montreal IS amazing.
Old town Montreal is the place to visit during winter snowy season. It’s so beautiful. Looks like London. Awesome video!!!!
@@jamescrud Incorrect it's called Old Port or Vieux Port. Old Montreal is what tourists say.
@@AshishSharma-yk7qr I've lived here my whole life. The Anglos call it Old Montreal. The French say Vieux Montreal. The Old Port is part of it.
@@GreenEyes73 Hi anglo here. I have NEVER, EVER heard the term Old Montreal. Only Old Port. The French say Vieux Port, not Vieux Montreal.
Aa an american I love so much Canada 🇺🇸🇨🇦

As a Canadian, I love America. The USA is incredible, and Americans are wonderful. You guys treat us Canadians as your own.

@@jack-sz1kx Absolutely. You guys think Shania Twain, Alanis Morissette, Pamela Anderson, Michael J. Fox, Wayne Gretzky, Alex Trebek belong to you !! Lol.
Celine Dion and Georges St-Pierre, perhaps not, because they have French accents.
I went to visit Montreal it was really nice that church was amazing
Montréal was call ville aux mille clochers and Mark says you can't throw a rock without break a church windows. So if you love church there's many beautiful to visit :)
As a Canadian this is so nice to see, and btw I’m in Montreal rn and it it awesome
It’s even more fun when you drive from New York. Don’t be scared of French signs, it’s easy. Best city in Canada.

Montreal is my dream city ❤
@@GreenEyes73the weather. the money. i hate it yet i love it
Its a nice city
Montreal is a hidden gem. It’s amazing in the summer!!
@yusufhasaan8781
I would not call it 'hidden'. It is one of North America's top 10 urban centers and it is the second largest French-speaking city in the Western world after Paris.
#1 is to come over during the summer time !!!
Montreal autumn 2023.
It has been a few years since I visited Montreal, and you really captured its beauty!
Vive le Québec!
My favorite city in all of North America.
it's much safer than Toronto or Vancouver! Crime is Lower in Montreal all though every city has it's good and bad parts!
Ma ville préférée de tout L'Amérique Nord
Keep up the great work 👏
Montreal looks like a mix of London,Paris,Berlin and cities in Italy
Montreal is an absolute shit hole. I know, I live there. Junkies on every corner in every borough. Safe injection sites for junkies. Loads of homeless people (I was one for 7 years). Mafia, crime, gangs, shootings, drugs etc).
And orange cones everywhere and the North Pole and you’d be close
@@helentrvvery close actually a lot of people compare it to those cities..if you're blind just say so
FYI, almost as good smoked meat can be found at Snowdon Deli (on the less than scenic Decarie Blvd) and Lester's (on the far nicer Bernard in Outremont).
In my opinion Snowdon Deli is better than Schwartz's. Everyone has their favourite.
Such a tourist! I live in Montreal...so much to see...
It is awesome
Thank you for sharing.😊😊
looks like Montreal is the most European city on North American continent.
Lmao this video show only the old port, if you go in downtown you will see is more closer to any North American city than European one
Then my friend you have to visit Quebec City. It’s even more “European look alike” than Montreal.
And I thought Quebec City was the other major Quebecer tourist trap; however, Quebec City would instead be comparable to smaller French cities.
Great city!
Glad you love my city!
The way he pronounced Notre dame🥲
Very nice🌹🌹🌹
I prefer Old Quebec. Feels way more like a French town, it’s super quaint and gorgeous in Christmas. Montreal feels like NYC or something similar.
Montreal really looks like a cool place to visit
Absolutely ❤️ 💯
As an anglophone that has lived my whole life in Montreal, here are some corrections:
1) Notre Dame Basilica is pronounced as Notre DAM (As in an electric dam) Basicila in English here.
2) There is no such thing as Old Town Montreal. It's called the Old Port.
In French we make a distinction between "Le vieux port" et "Le vieux Montréal" (often shortened to "le vieux").
@@hdufort Same in English - Old Port and Old Montreal. That is how it is where I grew up and how the tour guides refer to these parts of the city.
Beautiful
Wow
Because Montreal is frickin beautiful, thats why!
My birth place! 'Nough said!

Wow! Merci Pat.
Ça fait différent du Québec Bashing...
I went back in march of last year for a few days and loved it also the food was amazing. Would love to go back some day, I live in Ontario so I most likely will
If you ask people where "old town Montreal" is, they'll give you a wtf stare, cause there's no such thing. It's old Montreal, or vieux Montréal.
Actually, it Old Port or Vieux Port. NOBODY calls it old Montreal or Vieux Montreal
⚜️🔰 cool
❤❤❤
I live just over the border from montreal and I love it
In three weeks. Looking forward to it😊😊
As a québécois American it is lovely
As a Montreal resident, I approve this video.
You can see the British influence

Montreal is a beautiful city. For me personally, I love Quebec city. My Dad is from Quebec, i was vorn and raised in Ontario. We go to Quebec often. Its beautiful.
Totally missed the Basilica. Mount Royal was a nice surprise & heard they snow Ski.
Notre Dam is always under management 😵💫😵💫
I live there

I just spent 2 weeks in Montreal, it was amazing! I'd recommend it over going to Europe any day; it's way cheaper and more approachable.
I live here
The trifecta of large churches: Notre-Dame, Saint-Joseph, Marie-Reine-du-Monde.
Don’t mind the rudeness from the locals and enjoy Old Montreal.
Notre deym
Depends where you are 😶
moi qui habite déjà à Montréal : OUI
Don't forget to visit hurley irish pub on crescent street. They have the best guiness this side of the Atlantic ocean.
The area is called old Montreal. The actual port is called the old port.
I went to montreal 2019 November right before covid. My hotel has new names but it was pronounced “goovernot hotel” corner of st Catherine. McDonald’s right around corner!!! Can’t forget Canada
What month was this?
And turns out I’ve been living here for 20 years haha
even in our tourist spots where millions of photos are taken every year, the haunting reality of cones still linger in the thoughts of Montrealers
Montrealers should be grateful to live in a place where the authorities don't let their infrastructures crumble like in many other major cities across North-America. Cones are annoying, but they mean that work is being done
@@nancetardiff339 That's the thing, that's a very simple magic trick because hardly anything gets done.
I grew up in Montreal and I agree Montreal’s Notre Dame is outstanding. I was so disappointed with the interior when I visited Notre Dame Paris. Montreal far far superior.
I'm spending a weekend in Montreal with my 8yr old son. Any suggestions on what to check out?
You can enjoy a Montreal guided bus tour and it will give you ideas where to continue your visit...
so i just left montreal and i want to say to anybody from the US wondering what montreal is like it's like this. socially horrible! everybody walks around in their own little world not really willing to get outside of it. there's this thing where they want to keep french culture as strong as possible so if you're not speaking to majority of them in french somehow they feel they dont need to be polite or respectful. even though most people speak both french and english. also most people are very stand offish and not friendly. doesn't really matter if you're a tourist or not they don't respect you at a very basic human level if you don't speak french. this is the majority but of course you'll run into some exceptions rarely. another thing is there's more cafes than anything else here which ties into the whole stand offish culture. most cafes are filled with people not socializing with anybody outside of their bubble. if you're a foodie like me the food is very underwhelming and that's being very fair about it. there isn't much to see or do and you're better off sight seeing in washington dc if you're into architecture than montreal. i spent a week here and by day 3 i was desperate to leave. if you're thinking about going to montreal for a vacation like me. i'm here to save you time, energy, and money. you may regret it like me. lastly if you don't know currency exchange rates you will be taken advantage of. most places close at 8pm and open at 11am. there's more but i think i touched on all the mains points. best of luck to those going i hope your experience wasn't as horrible as mine.
These are definitely the top 5 touristy things to do lol
It is a nice place but geez bro americans cant pronounce french at all. Old port is also very fun.
Pov I do live in montreal 😅
U FORGOT TIM HORTONS WITH DES TIMBiTS
You're handsome 😍
There are pockets of European-ness in this city, but go outside downtown Montreal and Old Port and then you would realize the rest of the city feels much more American...
I live near montreal
Old Town Montreal is a place to visit
Instead of visiting Notre Dame, visit the Angrignon metro station
My home ❤❤🥹🥹🥹
I did all that in two days
Go see a game of the Mtl Canadiens
I live in Montreal. Whenever you hear loud voices talking about "Old Town" - they're always American. It's called Old Montreal or Vieux Montreal
Old town is referred to as Old Port
To the traffic to the construction I live near Montreal and Montreal has a lot of pollution and a lot of traffic and the construction here is massive
You should check out Quebec City
Probably the main thing left out is that international tourists can really stretch out their budget. As of writing this comment, 1 USD buys 1.40$ CAD and 1 Euro buys 1.47$ so people can visit a fun friendly and safe city at a cut-rate price. Oh and for Americans, the minimum drinking age is 18, not 21
Coming to Montreal for six days in August with my nephew....wondering if we need to rent a car if we plan on staying local 🤔🤷♀️
Most great places to visit are close to a metro station and there are also Bixi bikes that you can rent. Walking is an option too.
Fun fact: Schwartz's was going to close down and because it's such an institution, Celine Dion bought it to save it. BTW she is a vegetarian.
Another fun fact: Guess where Celine Dion got married, lol ( little hint... It's mentioned here )
