- Part 2 of my greatest hits collection for Sony Playstation. While there will be folks who do not prefer to collect this unique subset of games, I feel that there is a balance of obscure variations a collector will enjoy combined with many classic titles any gamer would appreciate. Thank you to all the viewers who have made my day with your comments and support of my channel.

Rugrats is actually a pretty good game from what I remember but I love that you take the time to collect these games its kind of a history of the marketing and sales side of the video game industry and what they considered to be their best games on the console. I also like the variation in design of the games themselves some people don't but I like the color strips on the side of ps1 or the different color box on ps3, I had started collecting the red box games but I ended up selling them because I usually start a collection and then need the money and end up selling them but eventually I would like a cib collection of greatest hits ps3 games and complete steelbook collection on xbox 360, that's my goal at this point. but great collection john, very inspiring. your the keeper of the book in the video game world I believe.
Sled Storm was my favorite out of this set. Awesome music and great gameplay as you go sledding around the mountains.
duuuude i am totally digging your Master System style font logo at the start of the video you should make it into a sticker id buy one to support your channel... also thanks for another awesome upload i really love the psx greatest hits catalog because this is the first system i was actually good at as a kid so its one of my favorites buuuuut my all time fav system will always be the sega gen because its the first system i ever owned brand new from the store and i know its one of your favorites also which is why i love your channel so much .... sorry i started rambling lol just keep making more awesome videos
played the crap out of need for speed 3. great game with a lot of exotic cars, uplifting soundtrack and superB gameplay.

The Legend of Dragoon is very under-rated. It's paced very well, stays interesting the whole time. Some cool features for JRPGs at the time like being able to tell when you're about to have an encounter so you can plan your routes in dungeons, plus some great CGI and pre-rendered back-drops. Great graphics as well.
I always get taken back to going into video stores as kid and seeing those green labeled games. Thanks for the video, and keep up the great content :)

Dang John you're ps1 videos have really made we want to start collecting for it. I currently collect for genesis cause I grew up with one but ps1 was actually my first console and genesis my 2nd. I still have some ps1 stuff.

I'm surprised there was a greatest hits NFL gameday. That's a super old game, I have it in long box form.

At least from what I played I must said Legacy of Kain, Soviet Strike, Rock Man 8, Mega Man X4(wich is fucking hard!) MGS, Silent Hill . Legend of Dragoon I'd been trying to get a copy of it from several auctions, at least to paid little but never won on them. The cheapest, and actually best looking art cover, are the Japanese version, but playing an RPG in Japanese without knowing the language is impossible. Great video John!

metal gear was probably the best in the lot, though road rash was the most fun. I'd like to see a cross platform collection, like I have NHL '97 for SNES genesis and Sega Saturn, it'd be cool to see how many games you have a complete set of!
The Legend of Dragoon is my favorite RPG of all time as well as game on the system.
My fav outta all of those would have to be Metal gear solid. I play thru the whole series every year and it is still as good today as the first time I went thru it.
Favorite of this week is either Loaded (great arcade fun) or The Lost World (who doesn't want to play as a Raptor?)
Between Road Rash and Skitchen for the Genesis were the two i played a lot of... Simcity 2000 for Nintendo I beat to the ground.. I love any city simulation game.

Two sets of budget titles that I can't get with are the Nintendo Selects and Platinum Hits lines. Platinum Hits go so far as to change the case color from green to silver and the "letter-boxed" look of the Nintendo Selects line really detracts from the cover art.

My local Retro gaming shop has Road Rash 1,2 and 3 for the Sega Genesis. They are quit pricey though so im only going to purchase one.. Which one is your favorite one, john?

Alright here's how good legend of dragon was. I was trying to get my buddy into resident evil, side note no it didnt work but re4 did. So I lent him re2 dual shock and hes like here this game will take you forever. I told him I had never played ff7, still havent minus the first 10 min. Well of course I got into it and eventually beat it. Well got whatever reason my sister who bought a ps2 as a DVD player starts playing it. And like continues. Me and my friend traded back games yet my sister was still playing it bc she went out and bought it. When you make it thru a 20 hour 4 disc campaign without a strategy guide in the early 2000s but my sister bought beat and played it more then once. 9.5 outta 10 on that jimbo

Just got megaman x4 for 7 bucks without a case. Great deal id say. Probably make my own cases and put in printed out labels. I know thats cheap but better then paying 23 bucks for full game with manual and case.
pac man world 1 for ps1 and pac man world 2 for ps2 both are very good in my opinion
parasite eve is my favourite game, finished it a bunch of times, new game plus as well, you get to keep your crafted weapon and armor
it's based on a novel, so that's why it's story heavy. it incorporates biology and is a tank controls hybrid between resident evil and final fantasy. i liked how it used actual rifles, shotguns and police equipment.

Do you have all your ps1 games in those plastic sleeves? and is it mainly for just keeping scratches and dirt off of the cases?
mostly to avoid scratches to the cd cases. Many of the CD cases were replaced which made them look 100 percent better.
some vids I'd like to see hardest to find sports games (top 50)!!! hardest to find shooting games!!!(top50) shooting games with rpg elements top(50)!!! hardest to find rpg games in each game system. splitting up games by system is good but I wood like it split up by genres what dose evreone else think. but john your vids are great

resident evil i have all 3 hi when you did your long box episode you had resident evil. you said there were different versions of the long boxs was resident evil one of them you only had the one version on the video but you never said if it came in a different version thanks
I found it interesting that the Nuclear Strike didn't have the artwork on the inside of the case making the spine white. Why did Sony allow that? Makes it interesting :)

For sure, but that's a big mistake. I don't know any other PSX games that are missing the inside case cover art (on all of them), it's also the 2nd time around as a greatest hits =P. Not quite as bad as your FF8 blank disc, but that might just be yours, right?

Never buy directors cut greatest hits. The part nobody explains is that run was when they did the infamous soundtrack rework. The trumpets going off in the kitchen, that's only on dual shock. Get tge black director cut, it's not onn PSN so you gotta track it down, but it's the ultimate version of re1

I noticed that your Harry Potter game Isn't a true greatest hits version. You got the case of a black label game but the Manuel of the greatest hits version.
Edward Ash false, the spine shows greatest hits, as well as disc. EA had jewel case variations.
