    NOT ONLY do you post relevant content for producers and content creators, your presentation is very polished and to the point. I like Adam though I use KRK V4 series 2 with KRK 10S sub plus Genelec 8050a. Both old school builds but still honest as day 1 for me. I would suggest you ask Adam to link this video with theirs or you do a fresh review of your new speakers on their CZcams channel, because they post other content creators and some celebrities to talk about their experience with their products. You would perfect! GOD BLESS bro, I really enjoy watching your journey.

    Man, I really wanted to like the Adam T7V's and there are so many positive reviews on them, my buddy even has a pair and they sounded amazing... but I had issues with them. The first pair I received had an issues with the volume when set at 0 on the speakers I had to turn the volume on multiple interfaces to Max to barely get any audible sound. I then turned the speakers up to +18 and with both the speakers, and the interface, fully maxed it was half the output that my KRK Rokit 6 G3's produce. I returned the first pair and tried the Rokit 7 G4's and due to them sounding too boxy I decided to exchanged them and give the Adams a second shot. I got them setup and all was well until I started to push them when the lows started distorting. I ended up returning them and I continue to look for replacements for my KRK's.

    mine are showing up today - can't wait - can you give a little ' how to ' on a quick and easy ' speaker set up' for a small room? I used to like my speakers about 6 ft apart and sit in the sweet spot but I'm thinking - with the adam's - I might spead them out a little more and further away..

    • @labandlegacy
      @labandlegacy  Před 3 lety

      Mine are about 7 feet and they feel a little wide. I think the sweet spot is pretty big on these but I still tend to lean into one speaker or the other to hear detail. I probably would keep them kinda tight, 6 feet might be perfect. Every room is different though so it could still work. I think the major thing to focus on is those first reflections. Making sure the first bounce point to you is treated in some way.

    This is a GREAT review!! I've been using the T7Vs for a couple of years now and LOVE them, but started wondering if it might be nice to switch to the HS7s because of the option to add the HS8S sub for mixing 808s, subs, growls, etc. I've decided the T7V really is a superior monitor, but I will try the 2db bass boost - I just assumed it would add a lot of boom and throw the overall mix off. Thanks for watching! I don't play or mix my music very loud at all due to my living situation. I usually have my volume under 30% so 0db is good for me. I use a control room mixer to adjust volume, and rarely have to crank it past 30%. I prefer to not crank the speakers up that high on the back for safety. Thanks for the great video, iamsight! I have a question about it. My room is about 18.7 feet deep and 9.85 feet wide (3 x 5.7 meters) and I find it difficult to determine if I can have 8 inch monitor speakers in this room. Currently I have 5 inch JBL speakers and I have to turn them very loud to hear any bass response at all (at any distance). I'm looking for monitor speakers with a flat response, but with a clear and audible bass response so that I can make better choices while mixing. I don't want very booming speakers, but I do want to be able to make good choices with regard to the bass frequencies in the mix at a lower volume (my children should not be bothered by it either). Would you (yourself) choose and recommend the T7V or would you be inclined to choose the T8Vs? Thanks! 😎👍

    • @labandlegacy
      @labandlegacy  Před 3 lety +1

      That's a tough one. I think 9.85 isn't very wide but 18.7 is pretty deep. My room is about half the size and I have to boost the bass on the back of the 7s. I think you could probably do the 8s, but either one should be a noticeable improvement over 5s.

    • @HansuMyura
      @HansuMyura Před 3 lety

      @@labandlegacy Hi John, thank you for your answer! My room is a bit wider than 9.85 feet, but I didn't quite count the sides (my music studio is in the attic).
      I think I'll try the 8 first. The most important thing for me is that I get a natural bass response at a lower volume and I think the 8 are more capable of this. If they sound too booming I can always bring them back and get the 7's.

    • @labandlegacy
      @labandlegacy  Před rokem +1

      I’ve found that keeping them about 50% to 75% keeps them under the ambient noise from my computer (which I keep on silent mode). If you’re driving a mixer into them you can get a lot of clean gain going in so you don’t have to raise the volume much past 50%. White noise typically gives me a headache so not too much from these at all.

      It's a very slight "air" on them when turned past the 0db setting. It's unnoticeable to me amidst my PC and just general house noise, but if I put my ear up to them especially at night I can make it out. Definitely not something I notice like when I have a high gain mic.

    • @labandlegacy
      @labandlegacy  Před 3 lety +1

      They have internal amps so you just run an RCA to them or even better a balanced 1/4" to XLR cable. Preferably out of an audio interface, but you can use the computer stock sound card if necessary.

      T8V is going to give you a fuller bass response, so if you have a medium/large size room the T8V is the way to go. If your room is small, you can save yourself some money and get the 7s.

      I believe front ported speakers only add the benefit of placement very close to the wall. Most of us will have at least 8 inches to a foot so I don't think it's a big deal.

      I was looking at the Kali Audios and they are a great budget option. I am doing more sound design so I opted for a flatter frequency response for mixing accuracy especially in the upper midrange. The Kali's may be really good for all around production speakers.
