When I was looking at small pets, I did so much research. I decided on Guinea pigs as I felt like their life expectancy wasn’t too short, and they could be contained. They have less health problems than other rodents and would fit our lifestyle better, we now have 3 and are getting two more next weekend. We’re very excited. :)
Yes, I always encourage people to do their research so they can make an informed decisions just like you did!
@@TheTinyHerd so I have a long haired Guinea pig I took him to the vet and it’s not a uti or anything the vet didn’t really say much about being wet though Bc he’s healthy but need advice keeping his hair dry after he pees hes always peeing on himself and his hair is wet
@@alliebenner3856 sorry I just saw this since it was hidden in a reply! If you have long haired pigs, trim up the hair on their bums so they aren't dragging it. Make sure their cage is extra clean as well. I do bum baths with my long haired pigs every 3-4 months!
I used to have two Guinea pigs and got more as they had children.. they always used to sit on the sofa with me they had their own cusion they would sit on they would come over and stretch on me with their little back feet stretchng out the back for pets. They were never scared of anything. They would never try and jump of the coutch so you could leave them there on their own and they were happy. I remember the kother used to sing when she was pregnant, and when the babies came along we used to put them outside to eat the grass and the babies used to follow the mum in a line and if one of the babies stepped away the dad would come up and push it back he always was the last at the back of the line, it was amazing to watch. But I first had the mum simce she was a baby on her own the introduced a male about a year later who was already an adult and they got on great. I miss them 🥺
THANK YOU SO MUCH for all this informations cos this video gave me all I needed to know. God bless you. Greetings from Europe. 😇🙏
I've had piggies and a bunny before but not at the same time. This was when I was young. I didn't know about them being social animals and had one at a time. I've also had hamsters, a mouse, and a parakeet.
I love hammies and mice, they're so different and fun in their own way!
Really impressive video. Tons of great information, straight to the points. Love it. You get a subscribe haha
Awesome video. I love your videos❤
Thank you! 😊
Great video! 😊
Thanks! 😊
Well-made video.
Thanks for the summary! My area charges over $100 for one guinea pig checkup, you are so lucky!
Luckily out vet until too pricey, I've definitely paid more when I lived in different cities!
nobody cares abt those noisy fucks
Very good tip friend
Thank you!
Excellent points! I have cats and guinea pigs and I'm currently fostering a bunny and a hamster.
My piggies definitely require the most work. They're in my son's room, and I don't want it to smell, so I spot clean their cage 3 times a day, plus washing all the fleece, on top of the hay mess... it's a lot.
The bunny requires the most time. She's in an x-pen and I let her out at least twice a day for at least an hour each time, and it's not optional. If I take too long to let her out in the morning, she starts digging and destroying everything. She's easy to clean up after though. I spot clean her litterbox every evening, and once a week I dump the whole litterbox and start fresh and wash the blanket in her pen. That's about it. If I were going to adopt rabbits, I would fully bunny-proof a room where I'm going to spend a lot of time anyway and make sure I have two. I think that would be the only situation in which I could commit to caring for bunnies long-term.
The hamster is the easiest and cheapest. I only have to wipe out his wheel every day and spot clean his enclosure about once/week. I hardly ever see him though, so he's not a whole lot of fun (but VERY cute).
Cats are a close second in being easy, but they're the most expensive. Their food is expensive, the vet is expensive, vaccines, licensing, everything that they intentionally break out of spite that I have to replace, yada yada... it adds up. Easy day-to-day though... just their litterboxes and random piles of vomit from where they tried to eat something not edible.
Oh, and out of all 6 of them, only one of the cats actually enjoys being held. The rest of them prefer their feet on the ground. The bunny loves to cuddle, but on the ground. The other cat, one of the piggies, and the hamster are fine with being pet in moderation. The other piggy doesn't want to be touched.
This is such a good snapshot of pet ownership! People have to understand they don't always do what we want them to do 😅
@@ewhat10would you say dogs are easier than cats
@@disneytoysr4fun975 Not at all. My dog is the most laid back guy around, but he obviously still needs to be walked daily, even when it's cold and snowing. He needs baths. He still has to go out even when it's raining or snowy and then needs his feet cleaned off. I also don't like leaving him home alone for more than a few hours at a time (though he does love coming with me when I go places he can go) so I have to plan around him when I do anything. My cats are both short haired, so they require minimal grooming. They also entertain each other.
Since I wrote this a year ago, I've had a bunch of bunnies, rats, hamsters, and mice fosters. I still think guinea pigs have the most maintenance because of the constant fleece laundry. Rats are probably 2nd.
This video is great It makes people know if they can own that pet or not. Your videos are always great keep doing your great job☺💝
Thanks! 😁
I’ve come to the conclusion that I won’t be able to ever own rabbits AND guinea pigs at one time (due to space and money) but since I do want to own rabbits at some point i’m hoping to get them after i’m not owning my pigs anymore :D
That's awesome that you've done research and figured out what's best for you! So many people just impulse buy pets. Why I love this community 💕
@@TheTinyHerd Are NIC grids okay for rabbit enclosures, or can they squeeze through the bars and get out?
I love my piggies and ferrets 🥰😍❤️
I have 2 rabbits right now, but ever since I saw Stripe from South Park I’ve been wanting a Guinea Pig 🥲
I love rabbits more I know what they need and their cute.
Great. 😊 Ciao. have a great afternoon! 😊Thank you for share! 👍great film👌👌🍫🍫 like 🍉🍉😇
Thanks for watching! 😊
😊
Can rabbits be fully potty trained? That is most important to me
I love guniea pigs
Meeee too!
I have 2 pet bunnies
I have a lot of time and taking them out of the cage and playing much is no problem, i want do less cleaning if it’s possible... i want them to live long, and i want them to cuddly and be social. I want them to be pretty comfortable with getting picked up if that’s possible. I would love if them to be healthy generally. What’s the best for me? If it’s any help i also have an dog who is super kind
You can't guarantee that any animal will be social and cuddly and liked picked up. I'd adopt from a shelter or rescue that can tell you a bit about their personalities. Same with health. There's a lot more that goes into having both rabbits and guinea pigs than is in this video, so I recommend doing even more research!
@@TheTinyHerd oh, that was like my dream wish
I want to get 2 Guinea Pigs to live in my garden. Will their noise be to loud for the people living next door ?
Not at all! They're not loud
Can you have one of those free roaming on your house or the bite and destroy a lot of things? I ha e a bunny free roam potty trained and my house basically Bunny prove. Don't know if Guinea pig is very similar as having a bunny.
I really want a guinea pig. I've had some pets before like Rabbits, Turtles, Goldfish and currently a Hamster
Make sure to do your research first 😊 guinea pigs should live in at least pairs!
@@TheTinyHerd Good News! I'm getting a Guinea Pig and don't worry I did my research.
I wanted to ask so I’m only 12 right now and I hv school so when I hv school what pet is the better one for me but now it’s summer but I go to holidays so if I go to holidays where can I keep my pet and please answer and every one says to me that bunny’s hv bad luck is that true they say if you get a bunny your parents can die and I don’t want that :(
Bunnies aren't bad luck, that's not a thing. With guinea pigs and rabbits you need to have at least 2 of them for them to be happy. I would do research and see which is better for your lifestyle, and make sure your parents are on board since they'll likely be paying the costs.
@@TheTinyHerd oh okay but can I hv one cuz I cant really hv tow rabbits and is it okay when I go to school I leave them at home and if I’m at a hollyday where do I put them?
@@lucylucy8623 rabbits do much better in pairs, having more than one is just part of having them. If you go on vacation you'd have to find a place to board them or someone to come to your house to watch them.
But do they bite
Neither guinea pigs or rabbits really bite in general. If they do, it's likely because of poor handling or too much hand feeding. There's always exceptions, but they're not really bitey animals. I've only been bit by guinea pigs twice out of the 11 that I've owned, and both times it's because they accidentally got me instead of the food I was offering. Only been bit by one of my bunnies once and it was the same thing, got me and the food at the same time.
Super Iam From India I Like Guinea pig & Rabbits And Your Video Super keep More Videos 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
A rabbits head is just a guinea pigs head but with much longer ears
They’re actually very different animals!
Could i keep only one rabbit or guinea pig...not in pair...is it okay?
Both of them are social animals so they generally should be kept in pairs unless they are aggressive.
@@TheTinyHerd thanks for the reply....but I only wants rabbit or guinea pig for my little son not for the production ...so keeping two male or two female rabbit or guinea pig will be good or not...
You can get a single rabbit if you give them enough attention. They are very territoral, and can fight if the two you choose happen to dislike each other. Or choose a pair of guinea pigs instead.
Your Rabbits and giunea pigs are sooooo cuteeeeeee 🐽❤️🐇
Thank you! 😊
Heyyyy
Hi! Thanks for watching 😊
Does Guinea pig urine has any bad smell?
Yes if you don’t clean them often enough
@@TheTinyHerd thank you for informing me 😊
oh man... your poor carpet !! if you're renting,... don't show this video to your landlord !!lol 😅
Damm I came here looking which one made better meat not pet lol
Rabbits are fragile. Careful with bunnies.
I used to have 2 guinea pigs, white one and brown one, brown one passed away, I just have white one. I had a white rabbit which passed away somewhere in July 2023, the pets I have these days are one fish, one dog and one white guinea pig. 🩵🏔️
Best video I’ve seen explaining the differences. Helped me make my decision to adopt a bonded pair of piggies🫶🏾 thank you
