The most dangerous thing about cargo hauling is the server trying to kill you
I got killed so many times i lost 100 thousand
💯
No, the most dangerous thing about Cargo Hauling is taking it from gameplay to GRIND, the same with any career in SC, far too many backers end up ''Grinding for Greed''...not everyone of course, secondly many backers play on the old ''solo'' mentality, hoping for a quick fix with (NPC Crew) which isn't happening for many yrs, common sense needs to prevail here, CIG isn't going to replace backers with AI, AI don't spend real mone. SC is meant to be fun, not a second day job.
Bro those 30ks are fucking insane sometimes
Always killing you. Its my belief that this is intentional as its been a thing since cargo and only when you are doing cargo does it kill you.
I may have flown some of the biggest ships in the game, but there will never be anything that flies as enjoyably as the rust bucket metal box that is the drake cutter
I don't know Why I love the Cutter as much as I do (Gods is it Slow for a ship with Huge thrusters) but Lawd do I love it!
@BeardofOz I think it's clunkiness gives it a lot of personality and immersion
It’s a mini Serenity
@@Karrson11Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
@Karrson11 firefly. You're true to the heart of this game lol
I used to work in logistics and never had an outside driver/hauler load his own vehicle. It was the warehouse’s personnel who would do it and that was a cost for the business, not the driver. I’d rather just keep the ship cargo loading system as is.
The driver also doesn't usually actually BUY the goods and then resell them either. This is just different from the real world :)
Agreed, I dont want to have to load the cargo either
One thing that needs mentioning is that owning a big ship allows you to make a decent profit from low margin items such as scrap. At many places scrap is the only thing they export and for a moderate sized ship it is just not worth the effort so you have nothing for your return trip. With a Cat or Herc it is worth going to the TDD for.
thank you for not making the audio too loud to the point where I have to turn it down almost all the way 👍
Awesome video as always! Cargo and salvage have become my secondary game loops and I am actually pretty damn excited for the changes in 3.19 and beyond.
Keep up the fantastic work!
3.19 is going to be awesome, and hopefully 3.20 makes 3.19 look like small potatoes by Comparison!
even for a smaller youtube channel the content is very good and high quality, keep it up dude love the beard
Excited for invictus just to get my hands on a C2. Cargo hauling/Space trucking is by far the most satisfying and relaxing thing to do in game for the sake of grinding for money
I love the Hauling, though the C2 hasn't really captured me like the Hull A has. Might be Aesthetics, not sure. Hopefully I love the Hull C just as much!
I used to "Blockade Run" lowsec hauling in EVE Online and that was a lot of fun.
@@BeardofOzthe C2 looks great, but it doesn't look like a massive freighter the sane way outboard containers look
"the cut of my jib" *smacks the sub button out of love for that saying*
i hit like and sub within 2 mins. like your style and time stamps. cheers mate!
Great video, thank you. One experience with cargo hauling I recently had on LIVE 3.19.0 was having a ROC in the hold of a Constellation (rental), filling up the remaining space, that not marked with a red ❌ only to find the game took my aUEC (81k) but that the cargo never appeared in the hold - money gone. As a new payer his came as a surprise and important lesson 😂 Not sure if a bug or intended, but buyer of cargo beware. Good vibes o7
Very excited to see this loop get some balance tweaks to make it a little more appealing. Now if we could just get to a state in development progression where wipes aren't as prevalent so we can actually spend the $. thanks for the vid!
Hopefully! If I'm not mistaken 3.20 is September-ish so HOPEFULLY we can amass some Space Cheddar before we hear the word Wipe again!
Re: the booze run - unless something's changed recently you can sell your distilled spirits at most mining outposts for prices on par with stations, etc. I always pick up a load on my way to get my ROC. Between that and selling off the loot you can get at the two facilities, you can often add ~25K per run just from that. Add in a monitor mission on the way, and you can potentially be up ~50K before you even pull your ROC.
Got my hands on a c2 recently, bought it with aUEC. SUPER relaxing when salvage is a bit hard to find.
PTU salvage contracts have been nice. Made a little over 48K on a Avenger and over 135k on a Cutty. Weapons and cargo are nice to resell. Time involved so it actually feels a bit balanced to me if doing solo in the Vulture. The last Cutty had at least everykind of drug it felt like. Had to run around to sell it all but good payout
Hoping pyro really expands the trading gameplay possibilities
Ive been trying to turn a profit trading Beryl to Hurston. Moderate payout for a rather high supply and the TDD in Lorville buys a lot. Just the issue that the 2 SCU my starter can hold are not enough to be wirth it compared to other loops like delivery
I really like the drake cutter, it’s like a lovable garbage can.
Adore the Cutter. Might be the one ship I keep forever.
a little antigrav wheelbarrow to transport laregr amounts of cargo when unloading your ship would be so cool an immersive
the audio is a tiny bit too low. Otherwise great vid!
Is there value in a site like sc trade tools, if it just relies on user supplied info? And doesn't get it from the database direct ?
Can you go over the bug where you have to stack your cargo in a certain way in order to sell without loosing money? I lost 180k and from what I understand I needed to restack my cargo ahead of time.because I had mix items
Affirmative acquisition, you're welcome. Also thanks for letting us know where to go for all the good cargo. 😂
It's the best phrase 🤣
Happy Hunt... I mean hauling!
How much money would you make from those routes on avg though?
at this point in my life, my biggest question is, How to make easy money in real life😔 anyway great video thanks a lot
Love the video, very informative, but I have to ask, what's the armor at 5:14?
The Armour is the Stitcher set (found on the 890J Boarding missions), the helmet is the CBH (bought almost anywhere)
Insantly i like the cut of your jub. Earned a sub from me
Is this for 3.19? because I didnt think diamond was all that good in 3.18.2
it would be so cool if this can promote collaboration between different role of players. like miner will mine and give the cargo to someone doing just transport to be sold and they split the profit.
I don't know if this is planned, but I envision templates where people can make quests (e.g., miners make transport quests for sale, transports get a percentage of profit).
Anyone have tips for what to haul with a 3 SCU 100i?
She can't haul much, but she's a fast & honest ship. lol
with that type of capacity, only drugs are profitable I'm afraid :(
What route does someone suggest i should run with my Avenger Titan and someone that doesnt wanna spend real money in the pledge store?
Probably either do other mission loops (delivery missions) because the reward is probably higher than the margin you get from the cargo sell.
Then you could rent one of the larger cargo ships for a couple days and crank in some money.
Liked the video. Your recorded volume seems a little low compared to other videos I watch.
hey bro! nice video, but your audio is really low, might want to check it
someone please read this. i have a 3080ti with amd3900x with 32gb ram and a m.2 samsung ssd but my game runs max 45fps in stations and 30fps on certain planets. unplayable for me but i see videos people are making looking smooth and at 4k res like how do they do it and i cant? is there a hidden setting im missing?
Personally I am not interested in being a hauler but I would enjoy being an escort for one with my Vanguard Sentinel. When the game gets bigger that’s one of the “careers” I would like to do.
How does it work crewing?
sell the goods then share profit by sending them credits or is it done auto?
If you are running it as a Crew, the ship owner would need to handle the finances of buying and selling, with any splits having to be done manually amongst the group through the money transfer application of the mobiglass.
@@BeardofOz ah okay!
Have a nice day & Thank you! :D
I’ve been really enjoy trading in my Hull A in the PTU. I may upgrade it to the Hull B if they sell it during ILW.
I had the B pledged after the last time it was on sale, then noticed it wasn't on the progress tracker. The moment I saw the Hull C was, I impulsively pledged it 🤣
@@BeardofOz I noticed it wasn’t on the tracker as well. The Hull C is tempting, but it’s a little big for my taste. The Hull B seems like the perfect size to me. And I’ll have the Hull A as a loaner until it comes out 😂😂
That was my thinking at the time also! But I'm impatient and have a problem when it comes to Shiny new toys...
@@BeardofOz shiny ships are a bad addiction.
I liked the Hull A and i had one, but my friend made a good point. People see see when you are hauling something and end of the day people will mess with ya just because. So iupgraded it to a C2. Maybe if the future has less aholes ill get a hull again
So i have a freelance max, what should i trade to get a C2? Curently having 1.5 mil, but hard to trade lately due to the rought Server state
Hopefully 3.19 will be a much Smoother experience for us all once it hits Live!
That's the problem, right? Losing a credit investment due to bugs is something no other profession has to deal with. Miners and combat profs only lose time. If a trader goes for a big haul, they could be set back weeks.
I'm disappointed that I wasn't educated on the intricacies of meat hauling!
Idk if it's cuz I'm brand new to the game and don't have the whole map loaded but me and my 32 giga of ram still get lag spikes
so say i stole the cargo, do i need to place it in a slot or can I just throw it in the back loose?
So long as the Cargo is in a ship you own, you should be able to sell it at a NQA
Is port olisar still in the game
Ngl, was scared with the recent changes to mining. But first time back in 3.19, with your ROC mining tutorial from a while ago, and I'm making bank. Either they changed the spawn rates of hadanite or im just getting more lucky. And always large clusters (~10). No 2-3 nodes clusters like before. Now if 2 or 3 of those 10 wouldn't glitch out and be unminable, then it'd be peak.
It was described to me as a puzzle. If you crank it up to 100 and it doesn't charge any, move to a neighboring one. Apparently getting one to pop can unlock the "glitched" one next to it.
I don’t know if the game updated but diamonds only net you 100 aUEC in profit per scu , I don’t know if it’s in that area since diamonds only cost 600 and sell for 700
The Diamond Pricing is for 3.19, it goes alongside the Mining Update!
@@BeardofOz cool that’s what I thought thanks for responding you a real one
What does Wala mean?
There is still something i dont really get(new player). Imagine i want to sell my cargo at Port Tressler, do i store my ship? Where do i leave my ship EXACTLY? In space? Or is there a certain spot i need to be?
Generally you just store your ship. When within range of the location, request landing with the ATC. Alt+N is the default keybind for this request.
Once you've landed, store your ship then do your buying/selling.
Hope that helps!
Great! Thanks for the info
Where should I fly with it?😢
I would submit that there currently is no true 'cargo hauling' in SC. Trading, yes. Straight up cargo hauling, no. Hoping for 3.20 to bring it.
What would you consider cargo hauling then? Is trading cargo not the same thing as cargo hauling? You load up on cargo, take it to another location and sell. What's your definition of cargo hauling?
hey BOO, remind me why i sub since i don't play SC? :p
More Important question, Why don't you play SC? Checkmate.
Always test a server first by buying low. Don't just fill a C2 and HOPE it works. Know it works first.
30k and you out a TON lol
@@baconious1380 that's always the risk. Usually avoid a server if server fps stays consistently under 5
@@REiiGN15 I’m new in the game and having problems with 30k. How can I get info about fps? Is there a command insert in console?
@@felipefujii2353 When in console type r then hit tab, enter in 3 and hit Enter key. It'll show you your FPS, server FPS, shard ID you're on, etc. Lots of info.
@@REiiGN15 You know how many times I've typed that whole thing out, big hero for that "tab" recommendation o7 - Lt Dan
I love cargo trading but unfortunately 30Ks are still a MAJOR issue and cause for losing hundreds of thousands to millions of credits. Until CIG fixes 30Ks its still very risky.
Literally what keeps me away from trading. I've had too many 30k disconnects (one today with 3.18.2). Trading puts skin in the game, lose a bunch of mining and you lost time, lose trading you lose both.
I prefer mining instead. I have a Prospector and I haul the refined goods in my Crusader A2. I figure if 30k's are such a risk or straight up having the game crash, Id rather risk a little time instead of the upfront funds I put up for conventional trading.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought they *sort of* fixed the 30K's with cargo. You'll no longer lose the cargo, if you go to your home base, retrieve the ship with the cargo it's all still there .. all you lose is time getting back home and taking the ship with cargo out again but I'd rather lose the time than the cargo! Just yesterday I was hit 3 times by 30k's with cargo onboard, each time successfully retrieved and sold np.
@@S0L0D0G When 30k protection works, this is true. However, I've lost count of the number of times that I did just what you described, and still had to "claim" my ship, thereby wiping any cargo, and thus any profits. Its nice when it works, but I definitely don't count on it.
@Mike Coenen it has been confirmed that the 30K protection is no longer working so be warned.
I love cargo play style, the only way i know how to make money lol
9:16 I'm sorry beard, cal-E-O-pee? Jajajajaja. That's funny. Great job.
I'm just pronouncing it based off the traditional Greek! 😅
@@BeardofOz oh i know beard. That's why i said great job. That's a deep ass dive i just didn't expect. Congrats!
Should be cal-Eye-o-pee. Follow the same rules as names like Penelope, Persephone & Aphrodite.
Similarly, Euterpe would be u-TER-pee.
That's how I say Euterpe too 😅
What is a "No questions asked terminal" ?
It's essentially a trade terminal to sell illegal cargo at. Check my Illegal Cargo Guide for more info!
well for the last 3 days it was impossible to do anything. lets hope they get their stuff together and make the servers run again
The day I can land my ship in any direction in the hanger and have AI deck crew run over and climb up to put a fuel hose on the ship and also have people or drones repairing the ship the game will feel so alive but that’s gotta be extremely difficult to code
I long for the day
Flight simulator already kind of has that. You land, the passenger corridor is attached to your ship, the fuel truck comes and refuels your plane, and when you're ready to depart, the little truck thingy pushes your plane back for another flight. So it's doable
What that on 1:26
These changes would be great, but what I'd love to be able to do more than anything, is retrieve my ship from any one of the none working terminals from all over the game 😂🤣
You every try pulling the hull A from a platinum bay? I believe we had this conversation before.
I did when you mentioned it! It has since been removed sadly :(
@BeardofOz I knew they would. It was WAY to convenient.
Looks like I need to pick up a 100 series again.
I need the other said video!!! IM BROKE!!!
Its one of the hardest ways to make money since every place to purchase materials is ALWAYS empty or very limited stock... def play to play on a whole other level. 3.19 is still "star shittison"!
i can relly not see my self fly Hull C anymore to much work fill it up vs the time you spend.
That's fair! It's not for everyone! I quite enjoy that Industrial style play. I think we are still a ways off of Self Loading yet, but time will tell!
@@BeardofOz I know its not for everyone, especially if you're into min/max, but I'm looking forward to having the option to self-load. Especially with the Argo Raft. I can't wait till that ship comes into its own, bringing cargo from outposts to a central location for loading onto a Hull-C for instance.
@@BeardofOz hull C2 is fine this is going to be to much work for alot of players that are Solo players an as i see the system is going to be like eve online fix spots when you jumps to planets you will be in risk all the time an people can log hole planets down i do not support that then i become pirats insted an thats not fun for other players that have anything to lose an northing to grain vs what you are loseing as pirat.
can you not make a Video aboudt how to buy back options i know servel players that want to sell back
8:50 Port Olisar has been replaced with Seraphim O.O
RIP Port Ollisar 😢
Is this guide still up to date?
Unless something has slipped past me, everything in terms of the mechanics should be the same. The only major change I can think of that's occurred is that Cargo now comes in larger SCU container sizes, but that should be it.
With upcoming changes we should see some more brought to the Cargo Space and I'll likely update the guide then!
No idea where any of these places are so ill just improvise
Your audio is about 50% quieter than the rest of youtube.
Spent 10 mins getting to a warp point then warped through a planet. Alt+ F4.
Hot take:: There isn't "Cargo Hauling" in the game. there is trading. Cargo Hauling is taking other's cargo from A to B. current is put up 2million of your credits. to make 20k. that isn't hauling. that is buy low sell higher trading. ALSO! getting out of your ship... no thank you. i'll haul it you load it and unload it.
Closest thing to that is box missions. Some spawn at the same place so you can pick up all their boxes maybe around 10 and go deliver them. Reminded me more of being a UPS driver when I did it lol
Not if 30k error has something to say about it
Not player driven economy as per the Devs.
I don't really agree with the amount of PTU content making it to youtube in tutorial format. CIG is notorious by now for changing things up from PTU final patch to actual PU release. They'll nerf cargo for the PU just like the nerfed salvage in the PU. I bought a vulture, did salvaging for a week, and gave it up as bounties are still better aeuc per hour all told.
The thing is Cargo is rn not worth it (Medium-small cargo), the only things that are profitable are Laranite, Agricium and all the drugs. its just these things make you a good profit over 20k but since every trader does these route you get basiclly no mass and therefor no profit. and dont even get me started on cargo server mashing
Edit: plus if you manage to get at least a bit of Cargo theres still a HUGE risk of getting pirated, 30k's and your game crashing etc
Drugs can be pretty lucrative. I’ve been doing them in my MSR netting around 80-150k profit a run. I also occasionally get lucky and find abandoned ships with cargo. One run I found a blown up Corsair with scu, abandoned MSR, and a loaded vulture. I made about 400k in 20 mins because of that, that’s also just luck tho.
@@thegeneral1955 yea the only problem with drugs is that some spots get camped and that you only get small amount of cargo
@@hansmuller7859 Yeah it’s really a 50/50 chance of getting good scu or not. I average about 80-150k profit. So it can be worth it. Keep an eye out for abandoned ships as well, they can score you good money on top of what you already have if they have cargo.
I have been flying around from location to location over an hour only to get empty stuff. Not worth my time even though its something I really like doing. Wasting money on fuel. Edit make that 2 hours Still nothing to even buy. Not worth playing.
Volume is very low
One minute and 15 seconds before you get to content. You might want to tighten it up a bit.
