Thanks, we pretty much just took the summer off. It was a busy summer but really enjoyed it. Now that the weather is cooling off, and getting dark earlier, will definitely be playing more VR again. Should be some more shows now too, at least 1 a month, maybe more.
My 1st headset was cv1 and 2nd was the quest 2. I'm not a hard-core vr player but I did buy the quest 3 on day 1 and have been playing a lot these last few days. I bought it for iracing but have actually found normal vr games much more enjoyable on this headset primarily because of the clarity. I did buy the elite strap, stock strap is atrocious. Visual comfort improvement alone with the new lenses was worth the money, I can actually play for as long as the battery lasts and not have to constantly adjust the headset to keep it in focus. You can see how great these lenses are when you realize you can adjust the ipd 3 or 4 mm in either direction and have trouble telling if it did anything.
I think it's nice to revisit classics games on new tech. Especially if the devs have upgraded them. You might see details you didn't see before because you are less focused on getting through the game and take more time to appreciate it. It's like listening to a classic record on hi end audio, you hear stuff you didn't notice before.
I just bought Drop Dead The Cabin in and Espire 2 to try their MR updates. I also bought Resist as it has a graphics upgrade for Q3. XR update has made a list of 70 MR games and there are a few surprises on there of games I already own like Thrill of the Fight, Synth Riders, Blaston and Eleven Table Tennis. They look great in MR!

THE STRAP - IS NOT that BAD. DONT BE SUCKED INTO BUYING ADD-ONS! In seriousness haha tho it's going to be very dependent on each person's which is proven as reviews on comfort are polarized. I've logged 10 hours over 3 prolonged sessions SO FAR.. I'm bald and have a medium-sized head. I have found it well balanced and comfortable without being hot (shocking more pads and coverage add more heat right!) My wife on the other hand. 10 minutes complained of pain on her neck and forehead. I said waaaa no way, took it off her resized her from scratch and 10 minutes later she said the same. We assumed for her it's just her head being smaller and narrower shaped than mine and you know I'm a male gamer and she's a real female 👀 so it would probably take some getting used counterbalance neck strength etc etc... Chill don't cancel ❌. Comfort 8\10 for me (what do u expect stock there is always upsells) Comfort 4\10 for my wife. She says a thicker more padded strap would be her style
The jury is still out on PSVR 2. It is only 8 months into its cycle and already has an impressive library. Sean was definitely wrong about that crappy HTC headset though. Just sayin 😮
Haha we were all excited about that HTC headset after trying it at CES. After getting more time with it, yeah it was a flop unfortunately. Seemed so promising too
Wear a good pair of head phones put those on first then have the straps almost fully loose then put the headset on and have strap go over the heaphone cuffs makes it useable until we get something better at least i made my unbearable strap comfy since i own sony xm4 which are comfy
@@mamefan Yeah, aindex is starting to get a little bit dated now, and the wireless option is great. I haven't tried Quest 2 with VD yet, but I hear there or some new options and stuff for it. Looking forward to trying it.
For anyone watches or reads commenta i put my headphones on first and had hesdstraps loose almost fully maxed loose and then i put the headset on and put straps over my headphones cuffs im super comfy cause my sony xm4s are crazy comfy (which are expensive 250 dollars) it makes using crappy strap useable
in time i do imagine the cheaper quest 3 headset will get bumped up to 256 gigs of storage because as with the 64 gig its not going to be useful for most gamers... this is my reason for waiting. they did it once and i can wait for this to come my way.
Grey black LCD isn't 'naiing it' - Many of us can't even get into VR with non Local Dimming (or no OLED) displays. Quest Pro looks great colour and black level wise with LD ON (for me in wireless PCVR), I've used it more in 2 months than I used my quest 2 in 2 years (I didn't like the displays in that and it's the same low quality one in the Q3 as the Q2). Quest 3 is great but it doesn't negate the Pro for the higher end PCVR users who want better colours, blacks and the form factor (battery at back and no face gasket on the face). Q3 is better for standalone for sure. The only 'upgrade' for me from QPro now would be whatever valve does next (if it has micro OLED).
Quest Pro definitely doesn't have as much going for it, now thay Quest 3 is out and at a lower price. The Quest Pro does have the local dimming, which is pretty nice though, and controllers are a little bit better.

The depth sensor is working, but not the occlusion, that is estimated to arrive around Christmas.

Based on my testing of it, Q3 will replace my Index once there's a good strap with replaceable batteries.

@@RenderedRealityThe glare and lower res of Index are why. Also, wireless with VD appears to work flawlessly for me. Airlink was flawed.

Sean, you need to try the globular cluster comfort mod for psvr2, makes it way more comfier.

IPD slider is not even needed. It’s clear no matter where you set it
Sure it looks clear, but the eyestrain is real if you keep it set way off your IPD

Yeah Pico 4 is pretty good headset really. I like Quest 3 a lot, but I dont know that it's a must have headset for everyone.
