My 1994 BMW 530i Touring finally gets it's wheels. I purchased these OZ Futura's literally the same day I bought this car which was no over 17 months ago. The intention was that they would be on the car very quickly but I think I learned a lot during those months and am much happier with where the car is now and the decisions made around it. In this video you will see me roll the rear arches to accommodate the fitment I was looking for, rebuild the rear wheels to change from a 4" to a 3" lip, and finally ceramic coat and install the wheels on the car. I hope this process excites some of you guys out there as much as it does me. The amount of time I have spent staring at the car since they have been on it is insane, and its not even together yet haha. Thank you all for checking out the video, much love.

That went out really great, i didnt thought so from the beginning. Even if my favourites are cross-spokes on older bmws these was super. Then we got to the fitment and everything else, that is spoton, always!

@@ChromaticGarage ammo NYC last video had proper 2 minutes of rattle gun then a quick test with the torque wrench. When it clicks without movement then you know it's way past 150nm easy haha. It irks me to see improper use of a torque wrench.

Love the wheels! Been thinking about getting a set for my e39 as well. Great video as always and I'm impressed with how well you're able to do jobs you may have not done before. Not sure if you did this or not, but tightening the wheel bolts and nuts in a criss-cross patterns is always a good idea. Otherwise you're set to start your own wheel refurb shop haha
Thank you Henry! It’s so fun learning! What I do is tighten 5 bolts in a star pattern in order to hold the face in place evenly, and then I go around clock wise. I find it very annoying to remember which one I’m on in a cross cross 😭
@@ChromaticGarage haha it definitely is difficult to keep track. I've usually looked at the face of the wheel and tried to make a pattern using that, but that's not always possible

@@ChromaticGarage oh dude, yeah I’ve been locked in with stanceworks since about 2010 haha back when “rusty” was a fully painted black 5 series lowered on RS’s 😂 I have a pair of their LowlyGentleman driving gloves that stay in the glovebox at all times. I’m a collector hoarder so I of course had to keep the box they came in too 😂 I wish so badly that I could have gotten a pair in all 3 colors, but just having a pair in general is pretty awesome. Have one of their OG S/W shirts that I got with the gloves, but had to retire last year because I don’t want to fully ruin it or rip it after all this time. By far the best, most well rounded automotive blog, but also a no brainer as the best when it comes to VW/Audi/BMW and euro culture, lifestyle, & history

What are the wheel specs and tires?

For an E34 I think the perfect sized wheel is a 17's because I found a cheap set of 18' MK Motorsports and it just didn't look right to me. When I put them on my E36 they fit better, but I still think 18's are too big on the older 80-90s BMWs. Cool wheel choice though. I'm a huge fan of OZ racing wheels from the 90s. I've thought about getting a set of the Mitos or some other ones I like because they pop up for sale every now and then.

This video was shot over months. Part of it before prep and paint, the latter part after. Guarantee there's no dents in it now!
Chris has the right idea. That was before body and paint work. Most 90s cars are now unfortunately in similar condition
