    Nicely done! Thx for posting this-it’s always interesting to see our town from the air. Great flying skills! It’s horrible this is happening again, and due again this coming Wednesday. At least it’s not as high as last week-nonetheless it’s horrible for those already struggling.

    Hope all are safe. We had flooding at the lake 5 years ago. Really bad. Sand bags. Pumps, losses. Everyone wants to live beside the lake or river. And with that comes risk. Sooner or later this happens. That same lake of ours is now 8 lower than the normal water like. There is talk of drought.

    Is the Nooksack R. bed higher than surrounding prairie? Curious why it overflows then flows northward instead of just staying in the "valley" towards Bellingham.

    Thanks for the upload. Very valuable information. Would you consider flying the area between the breach on Columbia Street and where the water enters the Sumas River? Also, does the water cross Nooksack Road? From your video it looks like Nooksack Road remained above water (2:04 in the video). I am curious what track the water actually takes from the banks of the Nooksack River into the Sumas River. Perhaps your video was shot before that actually occurred during this storm.

    How far is that from where the Sumas River is (starts)?

  • @RogerWKnight
    @RogerWKnight Před 2 lety

    Water actively flowing across East Main. That will find a tributary of the Sumas River and from there it is on its way to Canada.

    🚙🚜 🏠I would suggest that residents back cars in driveway to make it easier to escape if waters get close to their house...🚗🛻🏘
    it is about 1 mile between middle school and the river...
