EBIKE Pig Hunt || Feral Animal Shooting with my 308Win Rifle & Thermion 2 LRF XG50 Thermal Scope

- This shooting trip I'm solo and hunting feral pigs and the odd fox. There's plenty of bulk action packed footage in this video, for a twist I'll show you how I'm utilising an Ebike from EORB Australia to move around with stealth and take care of business. All animals shot are introduced invasive species in my country.
I'm not shooting for human consumption on this trip, it is purely pest control of invasive species in Australia. These uncontrolled animals are an environmental and agricultural menace, often carrying bacterial and diseases like brucellosis. Pigs are left where they lay as carrion, nothing generally lasts more than a week in the Aussie bush before it's just a few scattered remains.
I am a vertebrate pest control - contract shooter in NSW. For those wondering about the suppressors, both my mate and I hold the necessary permits in NSW to do so. If seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.
Call to action - If you would like to see the continuation of CZcams channels like mine or others. PLEASE consider joining Patreon for further support.

My 308Win rifle is a full custom, which I will review soon to share all the details properly. Action is a Defiance Machine Tenacity, Triggertech Special trigger, 18 inch Carbon Six Barrel, Wedgetail Industries Suppressor, all in an MDT HTN26 Carbon Fibre Chassis. I'm running reloaded ammunition with 150 grain Hornady SST projectiles and a sprinkling of subsonic rounds, which are reloads using 190 Sub-X projectiles. My thermal scope is a Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50 and for the scanner I'm running a brand new Pulsar Merger LRF XL50 which is 1024x756 resolution !!!

I honestly have to say you give a good name to hunters/shooters. Not irresponsibly shooting near other animals and you always make sure to completely put down the animal your hunting. Massive props mate.
Cheers mate 👌
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK how much bike set you back.. that's a super quiet rifle usually suppression isn't that effective.. what's your load out?
Yep, and super sharp on the bolt and drop.
Do you pick what you shoot ,or leave them ,picking up all those pigs would be a right pain
@@bernarddaly5484especially when riding an E-bike. 😝. The farmer probably gets a list of the rough locations, and can pick the carcasses up at their leisure for ‘disposal’. Some carcasses left behind make for good bait for a future hunting session.
*EDGE of the OUTBACK* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
Glad you enjoyed it
I appreciate it when you include misses and cockups. It makes us all feel better about ourselves.
I do try to always show them, unless too untidy on the scope view.
"She was a bit of a squirter!" Yeah, You never know when you'll find a squirter lol😂
thats gold !!
Ti's true
Absolutely enjoy your content mate. Your sense of humour on top of it all simply makes it amazing.Get a good laugh in between. Keep up the great work 👍
Glad to hear it
Mechanical failure in remote areas has always been a worry for me. Its amazing how cable ties can get you out of deep trouble. You just need to carry a bigger bundle :) Theres always stray wire along fence lines - - - - You know - - - From busted wires and repairs and such :P Your segments are always entertaining and my hats off to you for solving the breakage, getting out of trouble and continuing with the job at hand. Multi tasking whilst freezing your arse off takes some skills :)
Really appreciate it mate 👌
This I understand! The US Navy "volunteered" me to Asmara, Ethiopia. After losing one of two bolts that held the gas tank on my 750 Norton Atlas motorcycle, I spent a weekend drilling and safety wiring ALL the bolts on my Norton and my friends Triumph Bonneville. We could get way too far away from civilization on the bikes outside Asmara and pushing a 400 lb motorcycle back wasn't going to happen. Today it would have been blue Loctite but way back in 1968, safety wire was the choice. Great video too!!!

Another fine effort Nathan I can't believe how many pigs are up your way if guys like you weren't out shooting the bloody things we'd be completely overrun by the bloody things.
Crazy numbers ATM
Love your channel mate. Please never stop uploading
I'll try!
Nathan really knows what he is doing, always evolving and learning. That's what life is all about.Well done mate.Obviously will be taking a spare chain and hub on next ebike mission.
Nah, just thicker cable ties 😂
Yea Nathan, even with the mishap it was still a very good trip
thankyou for putting it up for us
Cheers 👍🏻
Great video, Nathan. Im really impressed with your ability to put accurate rounds on Target so quickly with a bolt action.
I try
Beauty shooting, Nathan. Your lead looking thru' the sight on shifting hogs never ceases to amaze me. By the way, you have my sentiment on "Bloody Cabbage!" in wraps.
Thanks Stephen 👍🏻
Great work as always Nathan. Seeing you drop those pigs is just brilliant. Snd the two for one deal would no doubt be a major bonus for you.
Thanks 👍
Love it Nathan, you show great resilience too which seems is just another fine quality of yours, well done mate
Thanks 👍
From watching your videos I have started shooting too on a range, really enjoy the precision and engineering. Mind it’s only an air rifle for now! Another excellent video. Thanks
Nothing wrong with an air rifle, well done 👏
Good stuff yet again Nathan.
I love how you always put just the right amount of commentary into the videos.
Great shooting as usual.
Keep it coming bloke.
Cheers from Penrith as always. 👍🦊🐈🐗🐗🐗🐗
Cheers mate 👌
Great video, Nathan and a very creative repair! Many thanks and keep the pressure up.
Thanks, will do!
Love the 11:50 mark with the cart wheeling and exploding pigs in the thermal !! Some good images for a compilation.
Thanks again Nathan, nice Mcguiver on the rear hub , quite a successful night hunt im sure the land owner would be happy as with those numbers ,see you on your next outing
Thanks 👍
The part where ya said " I shot me a ranga" was absolutely hilarious I told my father who also watches you and had not seen the video had cracked up laughing when I told him.
😂 That's the ticket
Once again Nathan, another bit of top shooting. Dame bike letting you down but that's just part of it all. Thanks again cobber.🤠
That's it mate 👌
Good results Nathan, well done. The ebike was just part of the adventure. Take care.
Very true!
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK You had a tough session champ, you were very brave.
That is a great example of good shooting I really enjoyed this one mate can't wait for the next one 👍🇦🇺🦘
Cheers mate 👌
Thumbs up as always Nathan. Feral pest eradication at its finest! 👍🏽
Much appreciated
Safe area behind every shot, a 308 on a kitty or mouse is a guaranteed ethical shot. Job done. 👍
I once owned a 1943 Ex US Military Jeep - awesome vehicle which could go anywhere - and - very quiet!!!
I like the new take with the the E. Different spin on night hunting. Good shooting as well👍
Cheers mate 👌
Absolutely fantastic video and a variety of subjects 👍🏻🏴
Glad you enjoyed it
Great work. Love the thermal splatters.
Glad you like them!
Watched it all over again and have to admire your dedication and passion continuing to shoot pigs as you make your way back in limp mode. I reckon you’d score very highly on the European Running boar targets given this performance
I'd like to have a crack at those moving target ranges they have over there. Looks like my kind of gig for sure.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK without any humbug, the way you were downing those running pigs I’m sure you would excel. Scandinavia also do running Moose, which is about the size of the proverbial barn door.
Another action packed video Nathan, well done.
Geoff. UK.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
FN lucky for cable ties.
Red light on vehicle good, great idea.
Stranded at night in cold turns night from fun to horror show..
Absolutely it can do
Some fine shooting. Good vid.
Appreciate it 🍻
Ahh Nathan ol'mate another pleasing video,
You know Murphy's law determines the larger the breakdown the further from civilisation you will be !
The best shot was the fox ! Thanks for the video .
Ken Mc.
Cheers Ken
The pig slaying E-BIKE avenger, nice work.
Some great shooting in there mate.
The old curious cows can be a massive PITA at times!
Stupid things sometimes
Just finished watching an upload from Cutting Edge Engineering, now it's EoTB .....lots of great content coming frm Austrailia.
Some great shooting on those oinkers mate, especially as a lot were moving - and you slot in a LoTR quote too for extra points. Ever thought about a trailer for the Ebike?
Not sure who would put cabbage into a KFC but that's a minor problem I guess :)
I just came from CEE too. Australia's best tonight.
That makes 3 of us, best Friday night play list
Awesome stuff 💪
@@arffadailey8055what is the other channels mate if ya don't mind thanks cheers Yogi
@@brettstewart8765 What is the other channels? Cutting Edge Engineering. You tube won't let add a link any more? You have type it in to the search bar & go.
Cracking effort on the pigs Nath bad luck about the bike but the idea seems like a game changer cheers for the video
No worries Michael 👌
Outstanding vlog. Keep em coming 🎉🎉
Thank you! Will do!
Good to see the "not so successful" nights mate :-), lots of lessons for us all to learn
Absolutely
It’s incredible the amount of wild pigs now, in open paddocks I do realise it’s night but years ago we only seem to get them around wet areas.
That’s an absolute pain in the arse about the e-bike shitting itself but other than that great video Nathan keep ‘em coming.
Things can break unfortunately. But it was easily sorted under warranty so all is well.
Great shooting as always. That fix on the gear was great. The somersaulting pigs were very talented.
Cheers
As always neat job Nathan, shame the bike played up I have used a normal push bike in the past it’s a great way to get around.
Absolutely
Love the vids mate, your my role model
Wow, thanks
Excellent bolt work. You certainly make the shots count and could show the Texans how it's done.
Thanks 👍
I rode my Ebike this morning. Going to put some zip ties in the panniers before I go out again. Thanks for the idea.
Well worth it in a little repair kit of any type.
Good to see safety first with the stack hat mate, too many people hurt in the bush that a helmet could have avoided.
Excellant video mate
Many thanks!
love the commentary 😂
Ive never shot a gun or gone hunting etc but loved your content! I subd straight away.
That's great to hear, enjoy 😉
CABBAGE! That's outrageous 😂. What were they thinking.
Now that’s what I call an environmental hunter.
I’ve never heard the phrase ‘a bit of a squirter’ used in your context before.
Sometimes I say dumb stuff 😂
That bike knew it was getting very cold so it just wanted to give you a proper workout......
Probably true
Top work once again Nathan 🍻
Thanks 👍
Love those sub sonics and the running shots.
Thanks!
Hamburger night again , mate. Nice shooting. Your vids are very educational for a novice like me.
That's great to hear
The pigs took out my lawn around the house, a complete mess in one night. Now I love to see this video.
Always count your shots in your head, you ll be changing mags automatically after a while.
Great work again mate, you did have a good night 👍
Thanks 👍
Another great video, some bloody good shooting, knocking them down while they are flat out. Hope you got the bike fixed 👏👏
All sorted in no time under warranty 💪
When the going gets tough...
Great night's work mate.
Tell me about it
Another excellent result and video!
Thank you! Cheers!
Another awesome video Nathan. 😁👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice work mate awesome too watch again
Thank you 👍
Electric vehicles do have some custom niches where they work well. That Thermion is a pricey piece of kit, but it delivers the goods !
Absolutely good kit though
Joining nice passions on same video. Biking and shooting.
I had a Suzuki mighty boy, it was great for spotlighting, nothing could hear it coming.
They were awesome
Hello from Melbourne 🐍🦘. I enjoy your shows.😁
Awesome! Thank you!
Another superb video. Nice shooting Tex.
Thanks mate
I thought it sounded like a bit of short cycling on the rifle but it turned out to be more on the bike too. 🤣
I can’t believe that they are sticking cabbage in to replace lettuce. That’s a crime against humanity!!!
Tell me about it 😞
I feel that the "two for one" should have as trophy appear on the screen with a "ding" sound.... need to celebrate the successes!
😂 Good idea
Good to see you've given Yucky Kentucky a break ..😁 About your ammo ; the 150 gn SSPs not being as effective ; I found the same with the 150 gn Nosler BT on pigs with my last hunt. I'm toying with trying the 150 gn Sierra HPs, or maybe going to 130 gn HPs - either Sierra or Speer . I have a couple of mates who've done aerial culling, and preferred the 130 gn HP loading ..
I don't rate the 130's for ground shooting, 150's all the way. The 130's excellent from the air and good downward angles though.
Good work Nathan. Yet again.
Cheers
You are a good shot my friend 👍
I really enjoyed the sub-sonic work you do. Its always quiet and highly effective.
If you get within 100m then you'd get the lot🍻😉👍
The issue with subs is the noise they make upon impact. It's rather loud and being right next to the other pigs, scares them off a lot of the time 😞
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK I figured there had to be a reason you weren't using them more. High caliber airguns have the same issue from what I've observed on CZcams. Thanks for the info 🍻
The owl had me laughing hard 🤣
Any chance of a video showing your mopping up/how you collect all the things you drop and explaining what you do with them ? Always a good watch your video's must be the best job on the planet 🤙🤙🤙
Feral pigs are just carrion on most shoots. In Australia they often carry disease and parasites (worms, tuberculosis, brucellosis etc). Unless you are very careful at checking these animals, it's not worth eating them.
Absolutely superb shooting - Vermin control at its best
Thanks mate 👌
That’s a lot of pigs!! Bloody good effort!
Cheers
Something to get checked on your rear hub if the pawls are sticking and you loose drive. Water or wrong grease in the hub can freeze when it is cold and this can cause the pawl to stick in the freewheel position and not spring back. One get you home fix is to take a leak on the hub.
Thanks mate, it actually broke the pawls. But all replaced under warranty 👌
Hi Nathan, love your work, keep it up please.
Over the weekend I was watching some of your vids and you were using a light bar which had red & white light.
I tried to find the video it was in but can't find it!
I'm interested in fitting one to my wee Suzi truck and/or quad bike.
Could you send me the details please. THANX.
Thanks mate, that's from. FOXDOG Outfitters 👌
Seriously leave the negative comments up bro I’m sure the positive ones fired back will out way the negative, I’m sure a lot of others will agree it will be great for a laugh.
Cheers mate, another great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
It would be a bit much if you'd got back to the bike to find a piggy had alrready run up and grabbed your slider ! 🍽
Cattle on TI ? Back in the image intensifier days with an IR illuminator, cattle would stand and look at you, you'd see horned beasts with glowing green eyes. Got a great pic one night.
Cable ties ? Always carry your fencing pliers mate; the big twangy hardware store is never far away 😃😃
I couldn't get wire through the sprocket 😞
It just occurred to me that if you could attach a battery operated fan that would channel all the air flow into the chamber of your rifle. that it would significantly decrease the time it takes to cool down.
And you could shoot more rounds out of it in the time you spend out on a shooting op
Steel cable ties are the bomb.
Keep up the good work. Love your work well done!
Thanks, will do!
Love the helmet
Bummer about the break down , but I like the way the pigs stop when you ask them. Good shot
Ps the sprocket might have frozen palls . please keep us up dated , yep your still a good shot.
The palls were broken, entire hub was replaced under warranty.
Another brilliant shooting video 😉🎯👍
Cheers mate 👌
Making Bacon! Really enjoyed the 2 fer 1, and the action around 11:40, that one pig almost went up the other ones ass, the Flipper was great, and what devastating damage to the 2 that seemed to explode. Would love some of that ice- we are at 43 days over 100 degrees🥵
Damn, that's warm
Great video mate loved it
Glad you enjoyed it
Another top video keep up the great content 👍💯
Thanks! Will do!
Awesome as always, and some really great shot action through the thermal. Bummer about the bike though, especially when you were way back there.
Twas okay, I still was stacking pigs up on the way back 😀
Nice shooting Nathan great footage through the thermal 🦊🐖👍👍👍👏
Cheers Glenn
Nathan it would be awesome to see a final wrap up of the numbers of pigs eliminated cheers Rob
I did talk about the numbers. Or do you mean me dragging 49 pigs into a pile. Cause that's not happening 😂
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK yep that was what I was hinting at 😆 🤣. Respect brother, you do a awesome job buddy and your vlogs aren't to shabby either 😉
Fantastic video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
some tidy work sir
Cheers
Jim
Thanks Jim
😮 When you said e-bike I was thinking you were going to get exercise and seems like more than expected. Hope it has a warranty mate. So the helmet is in the way it looks cool. 50 pigs is how much ammo that you use. Are you loading it all. Congratulations on another amazing hunt. 😊😊😊
Yeah all sorted under warranty. I generally reload but will be switching to factory ammo.
Top banana great shooting and some exercise too
Cheers mate 👌
Great content and great shooting Nathan
Thanks Michael
