I love the lack of patterns this year, simple and elegant pieces are always the way to go! Love that I can pull out all of my brown pieces again for this season, such a flattering shade. 🤎

I didn’t like much during the last two years of girlish styles, ruffles, puffed sleeves, prairie dresses, etc. I prefer the current, sophisticated, more tailored styles, but still soft, styles. As I wear mostly skirts and dresses, which are inherently feminine, I don’t want frou-frou details (I can’t find trousers that work for my unusual, narrow-hipped figure, after 50 years if trying). These soft tailored styles also suit my age, 63, better than girly stuff, but look sophisticated at any age. Thanks for your video ❤

I saw Quiet Luxury as an anti-trend, too, a reaction against the proliferation of cheap, plastic fast-fashion, new, super-trendy, outfits everyday, and wearing pajamas/gym clothes in public. I’ve always tried to buy fewer and better-quality classic, timeless items, I can’t wear synthetic fabrics or plastic footwear, for one thing. But, there seems to be a lot of negative baggage associated with the terms-QL/OM. I just see it as a better way of building a well-chosen wardrobe! Going from a size 16 to a size 6 US, apparently permanently as it’s from aging and walkng, not dieting, I’ve had to build a whole new wardrobe this year (except for some simple skirts I could remake). It’s been very expensive, but I stuck to these parameters: classic, timeless, but modern/updated, natural fiber/material only, and n my color palette. It’s been painful to part with clothes I really love, but I have to be realistic about my new size and even allow for some further weight loss. This occurs when I do my long 60-120 minutes) daily walks during the cooler months, July, August and September are too hot for this where I live, California.

for practicality's sake I tend to go for ankle-length or midi skirts, but I'm glad that full-length skirts are back in general! you can insulate your legs really well with them if you're smart

Great round up of the runways! I think you’d have a great eye for videos reviewing fashion weeks, or a few designers at a time, for interesting styles, layering and trends.

Love them all! Although i could only play around with the silhouettes here because there’s no autumn or winter where I’m from, i could definitely swap out materials. Burgundy is another colour palette that’s trending now, which i love so I’m gonna be stocking my wardrobe. Always loved this colour but it’s hard to come by.

I never much liked lounge or sporty wear, until I got my first piece in a luxury fabric, knitted silk. I was so excited to find this light-blue beauty, and it was even on sale. What I didn’t know was that this brand, Theory, has enormous sizing, the Medium, my normal size, that I got could fit two of me. Now, I have a few cashmere hoodies and joggers and have just got a beautiful silk and cotton knit set from the White Company, which will be my go-to for air travel. I love sets and one gets a two-piece outfit and two usual separates. I also love my silk cargo joggers from Lily Silk. I like to mix these sporty, luxe items with more tailored pieces and nicer shoes, not sneakers, except for travel. I’m always looking for silk knit items, the most comfy, luxe fabric, ever!

As I'm over 50, I feel that quiet luxury might age me. I have to choose pieces very carefully, as sometimes it may looks like I'm actually outdated and the piece I wear is from my young ages that I wasn't able to say goodbye 20-30 years ago
