100% agree. Would much rather have some actual in depth arguments than just a bunch of shouting. Stephen A no longer has the "loud demonstrative guy" appeal that is entertaining like it used to be, especially if you're not just a casual sports fan. Now it's old and annoying. ESPN can try hold on to Stephen A. as long as they want but fans are realizing that in fact Stephen A Smith is the one actually killing the show. I think we should be taking our time over to FS1 which has much better analytic shows at this point.
This show should be called First Roast now, it's just Stephen A and his casual sports knowledge getting absolutely roasted by NBA and NFL analysts.

This is some next level meta commentary on why SAS wanted Max gone. Max is better at debating than SAS is. Max wasn't always right, but he knew how to form a coherent argument with logic and reason. SAS right or wrong just yells louder than you until you're too annoyed to argue back anymore.
This has been happening a lot, with nearly every other espn talking head calling SAS out somehow, pretty much right after Max left first take, it’s kinda weird how it’s all happening all at once, idk what to think of it

Go watch The Malice In The Palace doc on Netflix. You can see a younger SAS back in 2004 when he still worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer. He was less loud. Now being louder is his shtick.
