Helen- It is super fun! We have been geocaching for 5 plus years and have shared our adventures on youtube. Happy hunting.
I automatically freak out every time I hear someone talking about geocaching lol. I've been geocaching for years and years now. Since I live in a more rural area, we have a lot less geocaches in urban places, and more in the woods/trails and whatnot. It makes it easier to hide the bigger ones. It's quite popular to hide ammo boxes, but one time someone actually hollowed out a rock, and made that the actual container. The more complicated the cache is, the more fun it is to find it!
You made a video a few years ago about Geocaching. I started caching then, hundreds & hundreds of caches later, here you are again. My kids cache. My friends cache, it's all your fault. Thanks.
Lindsay, I've enjoyed your videos for a while now. This is the 1st time I ever heard about GeoCaching. I live in a cave in Rhode Island and they won't deliver the newspaper or mail to it. What a drag it sometimes is to be a hermit! Thanks for turning me on to it. Tell Phil, "I love yo faces." ^__^
I've found that once you get within about 40 feet, you just have to start looking for good hiding spots. Depending on weather or how many trees/tall buildings you're around, the coordinates can be "off". Since the one you couldn't find is a micro, it could be very tiny - some are disguised as bolts.
So cool! I love caches, just started doing them this month after learning about them on Switched At Birth! Found five total so far! I wished I lived in a more warm area like you so I could cache more! Cool video, you should do more like this!
My partner and our daughter have been geocaching for a couple of years now and always have a blast! Great video! :)
I love geocaching I'm glad you have the opportunity to tell people about them!
Having geocached for the past 8 years, I can guarantee you some of the owners of these geocachers will be very upset that you are posting videos of their cache locations. Don't worry about it, you're helping get more people into it, so good on ya.
Geocaching has taken me to places that I would never go, even places closest to my home. I recently came across some cool TravelBugs with small tags on them called TravelFleas. I now have some with my geo user name on them.
I've placed 29 caches in Marina del Rey in the past few years and I don't think I've spent more than 50 bucks in that time. Most containers I use are leftover stuff like containers for Tang, Crystal Lite, and of course, Altoids. Some of mine are more elaborate. And that's only if you wish to be a cache owner. Some never do and only hunt. The only point is that it's fun. Give it a shot. You'll either love it or you won't. I didn't care for it at first and then 4 years later the bug caught me.
Hi LinZloves, If you want to learn more about geocaching you should check out some of the videos on the Geocaching Network. Many of the video producers including Joshua, the founder, would probably be happy to take you out geocaching and show you some of the tips and tricks for finding and placing hides. Happy Caching!
Oh, how cool to watch somebody try to find your own cache! Give her a hint so she can go back and look again :) She keeps her eyes on the phone too much, in my opinion, instead of looking around for it.
Lindsay! I love your hair and your Stella and Dot bracelet!
Congrats on your engagement Lindsey! That was so cute :)
Congrats on the engagement!! Both of you looked amazing together!! Was indeed a magical moment! :) Cheers~
This sounds super awesome. I'm dragging the husband out tomorrow to check out the ones in town!
This was so fun - made me want to try geocaching!
You should really try to log your finds. It says that you've only found 3 and they're from back in 2010. You actually got me into geocaching back when you posted the video when you found the one in the handrail in the state park. I was actually with other youtubers in Georgia when I found my first geocache less than 2 years ago. Thanks for getting me into it. You should also update the coordinates on yours since it looks like it's about 60 feet off from where your posted coordinates are.
Now that was surreal! I've happened across people twice looking for my caches. This is the first time I've seen a video of someone looking for one. Sorry you couldn't find Venice of America. If it were a snake, it would have bitten you! Numerous times! lol. I tried but failed to be FTF on your first placed cache last night in Venice. Guess I'll save it for the one-cache-a-day run in August.
You need to go caching with The Geocaching Vlogger. Go check out his videos about caching. Never seen a more excited and enthused person about the sport. You guys could canola orate on a video! Would be awesome! Great video! Thanks for sharing! Liked the RIP cache haha!
Thumbs up for geocaching!
What kind of camera and mount did you use for the car shots? It looks awesome!
We started geocaching because of your firsts hunt vid.
Good luck, warning. It is an addicting hobby. :-)
She was literally inches away from my cache in the video. But if your eyes are on your phone the whole time, you'll never find a cache!
This is actually really awesome!
Ok Lindsay, those were some good clues and even I know where it is now and I literally live across the country :) So now you have to go back and find it! No excuses lol And congrats on FTF Mark S. ☺
It was very cool, kmf! But me give HER a hint?! I was FTF on hers tonight with no hints! Hehe. Okay, but seriously, What I enjoy most about that cache (Venice of America, GC3AQXZ,) is reading logs from people where they either figure out the hint to find it, or find it then figure out the hint. So here's a hint: It has nothing to do with a sundial! Another hint: There's a sign that reads, "Park closed from sunset to sunrise." Her friend was sooo close plus identified what the hint refers to.
Yes it is... :-)
This made me very interested! i am downloading the app now!
Well, I didn't know, and she said you have to pay for other things like this.
Nice! Linz you look great btw
Maybe 1 day I find a beautiful ''cache'' like you or your friend. :-P
Haha...they are everywhere! :-)
Go for it!
Rhode Island represent!
This is so cool! I'm definitely checking this out :)
You should team up with The Geocaching Vlogger for a video.

C:geo is fine. But I feel that the official geocaching(dot)com app is the best.
You should take the video down, and leave this awesome little secret to whom already watched it already

What's the coolest thing you've found from a geocache?
How many people actually do this, and what can you expect to accomplish by this? Or is it just meant ass a pass-time or hobby?
The official app is £6.99
i dont like party poppers they scare me
Ok. I'm signing up! Anyone know Linz's username as a referral? or does anyone want to share theirs? I'm new so I don't know if that shares info we don't want shared. if so. Ignore this msg

Youre not supposed to show anything when you find them.
