What's the real difference when you are playing Counter strike: Global offensive and Valorant, aiming and reaction time should be marginally superior on IPS with higher hertzs, wouldn't it?, but I heard some people saying IPS still feels a bit laggy compared to TN panels, ence why some folks prefer TN over IPS still, I can see both arguments.

The only reason you would choose a TN panel over an IPS panel is because you want to utilize DyAc on BenQ's xl2546k since no anti motion blur is currently better than it. That's the only reason. The best IPS panels are better or pretty much the same as the best TN panels in every way.

Let me tell you, pros no ducking whack about tech stuff. Nor peripherals, nor hardware, nor anything tech related, they're sportsmen, that are there for the result. TN Panels are not updated in recent years as much, as IPS does, all powers are going to IPS panel. Some of them already exceed everything older panels had to offer. The fact that they're switching, is because someone else, they trust, switched, and said "That's better", when he just put a thought in his brain, that swapping to it will make a difference and he just got what he was aiming, a placebo effect, he made himself believe, and now others believe that too.

an explanation most pro csgo players play with a sensitivity of 400dpi, you will notice micro stuttering and a little input lag if you play at 400dpi on a 360hz screen, the source engine is optimized for 400/800dpi, which is ideal for a smooth experience on a 360hz screen is 1600dpi and lower its sensitivity in game

Acer AOPEN 25XV2Q Fbmiiprx 24.5" FHD (1920 x 1080) 390Hz HDMI DP FreeSync HDR IPS LED Gaming Monitor that’s what I have and it’s amazing. 450$ when I bought it from micro center. The reason they’re switching back to 240 has nothing to do with response time. It’s because you can’t hit a consistent 360 fps in battle royal/arena/late game. Pros would rather have a consistent 240 than an inconsistent 360. Also TVR (back light strobing) doesn’t work on the 360hz monitors when you set your display to 360hz. The acer 25XV2QF actually has backlight strobing that works when you overclock the 360hz monitor to 390hz. And all those guys are playing on 1080p monitors… The best graphics card for fortnite competitive settings @ 1080p is the 6900xt… it’s definitely better than the rtx 3090 which is a silly overpriced card to have if you’re not playing games in at least 2k or 4K. The 3090 shits on the 6900xt for 2k and 4K. I averaged 369.9 fps in 115 minutes of playing battle royal with my 390hz monitor and the frame limit for fortnite capped at 400. sure, technically it has lower response times, but how much difference do you think there actually is there? 2ms? 1ms?
just for reference, going from 240hz to 360hz reduces average frame times by 1.4ms, so even if the IPS panel is 1ms slower than the TN you're still gonna be 0.4ms faster on average anyway (which still shouldn't matter because below 3ms you're already talking about negligible differences to humans).

    • @TW-jc9ij

He is not too poor but you are too ignorant my guy. This video was posted almost 3 years ago, where OLED technology was NOWHERE NEAR what we have today so it makes totally sense. The 4080 and 7800x3d were not even out yet and saying that buying better specs gets you more fps does not surpirse anybody. He talked about how most 360hz panels are ips and it was true at the time of recording so instead of being ignorant and flexing your setup stop for a second and think. Another think is that you play very little demanding games, old hardware can get 500fps on siege and ths video is about fortnite, even saying that bugha with a 3090 could not get stable 360 fps so you neither which makes me wonder whether you have actually watched the video or only came to flex your mediocre setup and new monitor. The price argument is also valid as high refresh rate monitors, especially oleds too, are quite expensive right now and 95% of even hardcore gamers are not willing to spend as much on a monitor. You got a nice deal cool but dropping close to $1k on a monitor is a no for most normal people. i have a monitor with the same panel as you and it is great but I can not imagine writing such an arrogant, ignorant and selfish comment like yours. Well money does not buy intelligence or maners after all I guess.

there is no way you’re saying they don’t want to use a 360hz monitor because it’s an ips panel… and you can argue that the colors are just as important as reaction time. The refresh rate difference at this point in time is so small that this makes absolutely no sense. DyAc is a really yo go back to 240hz, but that seems like the only reason from this video that makes sense.
