  • This video will show you what do do when you don't have injector data but your vehicle is idling way too rich.
    0:25 One of the setting in Fuel Injector data that usually causes a problem
    0:41 Problem you buy bigger injectors without data
    1:00 Let's look at how to fix the problem using HP Tuners VCM editor
    1:25 Minimum Injector Pulse width equals...
    1:45 When you get a larger injector you get...
    1:58 When you purchase injectors without data you are creating a problem for yourself and your tuner
    2:45 Let's look at this in a scan using our HP Tuners Scanner
    3:20 As you can see in this scan without good injector data this file is off 43% cumulative
    3:55 The solution to this problem is simple...
    4:15 Obvious solution is put the correct injector data in the editor
    5:05 We normally don't go below this setting....

    This has been the best explanation yet for injector minimum pulse width. Excellent video!

    Thank you. Just learning to tune.
    I Modified my CAM 228/230 112LS , injector 26# to 50# , bigger cathedral intake and throttle body 75mm to 102MM.
    Basically, huge changes and a hell of a first time tune.
    Injector data from Deatschwerks was way to rich for my c5 corvette idle, not their fault just my inexperience.
    Got it setup for SD with MAFS, LTFT and STFT disabled running open loop for just getting the idle tuned.
    But I was as low as 3 for some of my idle values in my VE table ( no effect on Wideband it was - - - on my AEM gauge greater than 2 lambda and just worse idle).
    Was getting frustrated then this video . Thanks, got my stuff straight now.
    Thanks again, this stuff is 6 years old but relevant.

    Would you consider a 48 lb injector "big" for it to need to be dropped down to .350? I'm asking because my car carbon fouls the plugs as soon as I start it up..I believe it's running way rich at idle from something commanding it to do so. Either bad o2s providing bad feedback or from bad injector data (I believe). Also running tr6 plugs in a NA car, have some tr55s I'm going to throw in to help it. (ls1 car if that helps ). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the vids, very informative 👌🏼

    My ID850's IPW is set .125 are set from the data from ID. My idle injector pw is 1.3 at idle, but if i slightly crack the throttle, the pw drops to .8 or so....what gives? AFR stays the same. closed loop.

  • @CountyGarage207
    @CountyGarage207 Před 4 lety +1

    This makes sense as to why I'm running stupid rich until going into closed loop. My terminator x has my injectors in their "list" of injectors.. but I've tried everything to get my afr around 14 cold idle, but its down around 9.6 which is obviously way too rich. I'm going to give this a try, and see what happens.

      Make sure you don't have any cold start enrichment tables or anything like that coming into affect. I have't looked at a newer Holley as of yet but there are probably a few enrichment tables that come into effect during and shortly after cold starts.

    I have F.A.S.T. 65lb injectors. As I am sure many people found out after they bought them, there is no official data for them. It's believed that the FAST injectors are just rebranded Deatschwerks, who does provide injector data. I am using their data, which has a .729 Min Inj Pulse width which does create that rich at idle condition. I can't get the o2's to switch nicely at idle and light cruise. I played with Proportional Idle and O2 Rich/Lean vs Airflow to no avail. O2's compared to wideband Lambda was showing me 700-825mv, so this seems highly likely that this will help. I will test and report back.

    Do you know what is the minimum (idle) duty cycle in percentage for 33 pounds per hour TBI injectors?
    I set it to 7% but it doesn't want to sustain idle nor acceleration.

    So I have a question I just installed new 42 LB injectors and I'm having this issue I feel. The injectors came with data and the min pulse width is .805 could I lower it and see if it helps? Thanks in advance

  • @nspnutritionsportsperforma6804

    Anyone able to help me with my ID1300X Injectors on my 2JZ-GTE Supra? I want the car to idle as factory, but they are running at 1% Duty Cycle on Pump fuel, and really need someone who is experienced to help. My tuner had no idea and pretty much just did a power run and didn't touch the idle. Would really appreciate some remote help, happy to pay someone for their time.

    I added FLEX FUEL INJECTORS to my ls 5.3 the pcm is 0411 that came with truck that had FFV but I installed a 60 psi intank pump and later learned FF injector only need like 54psi fuel pressure will the hp tuner work out this situation?

    • @TheTuningSchool
      @TheTuningSchool  Před 5 lety +1

      All GM LS V8 fuel systems are designed to be operated at 58 psi (or 3 bar) of fuel pressure. That includes your FFV injectors. The important part is that you accurately carry over the injector data from a tune in a FFV to your 0411 ECU. The tables will not be identical so this won’t be and easy task. I highly recommend getting some of our course material (if you haven’t already) for a more detailed explanation of the fuel injector tables. With our materials, you also get access to our technical support staff to help you get the tune setup correctly.

    Is it common that once you come to a stop in traffic, to run around 13.0afr from about 30 seconds to a minute before it rises back to 14.7afr?

    • @TheTuningSchool
      @TheTuningSchool  Před rokem

      No really. Might want to check your injector data and wideband working correctly first. Then check your MAF.

    Afraid to plug in the data!?
    EDIT: as an aside, I see (or smell, rather) a lot of large-cammed LS cars on the street with stinky rich idles. Is this the most likely culprit or is it a vacuum issue?

    • @Turbogto_guy
      @Turbogto_guy Před 6 lety

      kickblake it’s usually an injector timing issue.

      Hello, I have the same problem. My truck has a new injector that has 17.1 ohms of resistance compared to the others with 15.8 to 15.7 and my truck runs rich at idle with a p0206 injector circuit malfunction. I've took it to the repair shop and they said the checked the wiring and it checked out so, they had me replace my computor but, the problem still persisted so I've been stuck on ends. This could be the solution I've been searching for. Did you have the same check engine light with your vehical by any chance?

    • @markburton9614
      @markburton9614 Před 5 lety

      Ditto. Looks acceptable at 8-11* but every second you'll see it jump to 23* ? Wondering if this is the result of noise in one of the ignition sensors.

  • @mareksumguy1887
    @mareksumguy1887 Před 5 lety

    "fuel droplet"??. If your injectors are delivering fuel as a DROPLET... your injectors are too big... or they're just garbage.
