Colin is so massively charismatic its just crazy. I love his stories and that incredible voice and talent. Thanks Colin for years of enjoyment listening to your songs
A day without sunshine, is like not having a Colin Hay tune in your head ! Thanks for the master rendition of these classic tunes.
Just saw the concert in Hyannis. Best show ever. If his tour hits your area, don’t miss it.
Colin if you get this comment. Then just to say you are the greatest Scottish songwriter of all time. I love you man.
Magic
Excellent version Colin. I've also heard your interpretations of Wichita Lineman and Waterloo Sunset too. I am definitely going to be buying your album.
Excellent musician, and funny👍🏻👍🏻🏁🏁🎶🎶🤪🤪
Stevie Winwood did a lovely acoustic fireside version of this song from his fireside at home during lockdown I think, sheer brilliance and until listening to Colin sing it just now realised how similar his voice is to Stevie
I have that saved on a playlist. You are absolutely right
It sounds like the Winwood version may have dropped down a notch too. I had them both playing at once. It sounded like a great duet.
I love the fire "pop" in the middle of the song. It is a beautiful version. Peace.
Great version, but years before the lockdown 🍻
I am a big fan of Hay’s music and watching him play is a real opportunity for me to steal licks.
Dude, gives me chills to hear you perform this song. Very well done. Brilliant.
You sir are like fine wine. Heard the album and loved it. Hello from Brazil!!!
Oh, my Colin. I feel like you understand my soul. Sure love your voice and your music. Cecelia as well.🥰
Dear Colin, I love listening to you sing, and I hope you will come to play an acoustic performance for us here in Israel. I have been looking for that personal element that makes me feel like i am involved in the music and finally have discovered you. This is just the flavor i need. So keep travelling, we need to hear you
HI Colin it s very good album
Congratullation
The Magic Man
Colin’s voice just gets better and better:)
Amen!
A great song originally now covered again by a great artist. Saw Clapton live at the Albert Hall a few years back with Nathan East on bass and vocals. Just blew me away.
Goosebumps
That looks like another masterpiece to come... 👍👍
Love the background stories of these recordings! This version is just amazing…
I would have to agree with the choice of knocking it down a notch, it sounds fabulous.👍👍🇨🇦
prolific as always Colin. I love the way Colin explains guitar stuff as if its no big deal
C is perfect😁 Thanks !!!
I heard Blind Faith live at The Baltimore Civic Center - great show! If I remember correctly, Delaney & Bonnie opened with Dave Mason on bass. Btw, It's SO cool, Colin, that you were open to taking this great classic down to C. Your wonderful tenor voice, rangy though it is, sounds wider & richer. What a lovely job you've done with it. I like that you stressed the word talented when you referenced Steve Winwood, because his striking voice too often, in reviews and mentions, generally, eclipses his soulful keyboard work and surprising skills on guitar. i say surprising, because he traded guitar licks with Clapton during that show and stoutly held his own! Wow!
Superb
Wow you understand
so much
That gives me morale as a singer Colin. Because your chest voice is my favorite of all time for any pop singer. To this day your old hits move me like so few upbeat pop songs do - Maybe McDonald on “What A Fool Believes” but it’s a short list.
I struggle with keys too. All I’ve got is falsetto sometimes, funny how it all works out with whatever we’re given. It sounds fantastic on C and I like your Wichita chords over Glen Campbells.
Man , that sounds completely AWSOME, it is a beautiful song , I bet Steve was touring the Valerie album when you met him in 85 slash 86
Thank you Mr. Hay!
Perfect 👍🏼
Love that song
Love your music Colin. I LOVE " Broken Love". When you get into a groove you're amazing.
Sounds so wonderful, thank you!
Love it! Another great song, amazing voice
Sounds fantastic!
Wonderful! Amazing voice and singing.
Well done, excellent looking forward to hearing the album, 👍
Respect for all creativity!
Boom!
Well done sounds really good in that key,Bless.
Colin, this is tremendous!
Best version, by far. ❤️
Please come to Springfield, Missouri. Th Gillioz is a perfectly suited venue for you Colin.
Good lord Colin sounds great on a great song...
Wow! Awesome stuff Colin! from hearing you speak I see we share similar tastes in music , Eric Clapton Steve winwood and even Glen Campbell, I bet there’s many more . Finally thought I can understand the first few words of this song from your crisp clear lyrics. Thanks! ,peace and love to you. I am a huge fan of your own songs overkill and be good Jonny are a couple of my favourites. Good stuff!
Wonderful stuff, Colin 💕🥂
❤❤❤❤
Legend
I have always loved this song and your version and your voice sound awesome. Can't wait to hear the whole thing. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful gift with us!!! :)
Such a lovely cover Colin, this D chord vamps is similar to White Room, it sounds immediately cool and he's such an incredible singer.
Luv you bro. x
❤️
Looking forward to your show on August 6 in Salisbury MA. Hope you will do a "how to play" video to teach us "Send Somebody!"
If you check out Winwood and Clapton playing this at Crossroads a few years ago (excellent version,) they're now in drop C. We all get older :)
I just LOVE Chris Stapleton. But this guy - wow. Different class.
Winwood actually plays in drop C for this song these days too.
This man could sing a macdonald's menu and I would buy it...
Sounds great in C Colin. It’s so hard to sing it in D as gentleman of advancing years.
Winwood has a great recent solo version of this. He also drops it to C.
A wise man heeds to corrective instructions, congrats Colin. I played the frontman on “house of the rising sun” “knocking on Heaven’s door” and everyone said “Wow, he’s got a gift!” Then I sung “Forever man” and they said, “well, you can’t win them all” “C” works well for you and was well done 👍
That's the buisness. Still have the original vinyl LP. Defo getting a copy of yours Colin...Brilliant..
Hey Colin. Great rendition of this great song. I’m a relatively new guitarist so please excuse this elementary question but how do you tune the guitar to “C”?
Sounded awesome.
Even before the five and six full barre chords that two finger F'in F Chord everyone hates 🤣
I Literally found out Tonight that you were from Scotland... Craig Ferguson 2011 Show...
Are you doing a tour in the UK to promote the new album Colin ?
Really does sound amazing..
Gutted you did not cover any Bay city rollers lol 😂 😂😂😂
That F was a bastard, took me ages to barre those two strings. I'm 69 and have been playing electric for way too long as my daughter commandeered my Ibanez AW-50 about ten years ago and we know how lazy that makes our fingers. Just bought an Epiphone Hummingbird with 12s on it and it took a couple of weeks to toughen up my left hand and harden my callouses. The first acoustic song I've relearned is "Can't Find My Way Home" which is in dropped D tuning.
Damn, I have an album I recorded 18 years ago, same premise, same Title. Still I’m no Colin Hay. Rock on, Brother
Anybody please knows the guitar make used here by Colin?
Have to agree, without criticism, using the key of C fits your vocal range much better! It sounds more relaxed to me too.
"What's you looking at... bitchin Colin version..😘😘
What Beatles song does the melody and chords sound like???
Hi Colin. Are you a fan of XTC?
I've always loved Can't Find My Way Home, but the studio version always sounded muddy or something to me. I heard a good cover once from a contestant on The Voice, but his version was too clean and maybe a little overproduced.
Never in a million years would I have guessed that Colin Hay would provide me a version that really is what I'd always hoped for.
I honestly got a little emotional when I heard it.
How wonderful can be a tongue ! Even to play guitar ! 🤣👍
over the West Gate then turn left at the Laverton Maccas....You'll hear us from there....
🙏🕉🌸
Boom (2nd)
Oops, I forgot the exclamation point…
Yeah man…. Bullseye 🎯
