Man, I really love this video. I saw it when I was 15 yo and it brings me so much nostalgia. I really loved to watch avatar on those times and Toph was my favourite character by far. I'll save this video, I'd really hate if it's gets deleted. Thank you so much.

Toph is so awesome! I like that not only is she so talented and the best earth bender ever, that she also comes from a very rich and prestigious background and rebeled breaking that 'rich brat' stereotype. I also like how she's tough and tries hard to act that way but every now and again, u see her insecurities. They made a great character. Her and sokka would be good together. If this is how awesome she is and blind, she might be epic if she cud see-but maybe being blind helped her train more.
Toph is a great character with really well thought-out motivations, and they did a great job animating her, giving her distinctive movements and mannerisms, not just in her earth-bending moves, but her ordinary gestures and expressions.

It's amazing the following Toph has...originally Toph was supposed to be a blink jock..but someone (don't remember who...but has a lot of say) demanded that Toph be a girl..One of the two co-creators initially was displeased with this...but not he is so glad and thrilled that they did that change....

Technically he should be able to. Cause in "The Runaway", he was using that See-With-Earthbending that Toph uses. And that's how Toph figured out how to Metalbend. So, maybe he will be able to, it might just take some time.
When you apply this song to Toph, the song kind of fuses with her. No, she wasn't abused, and I don't think it's really possible to physically abuse her. But she was pushed around by her parents a lot, who told her because of her blindness she couldn't do things others could do. "Do you feel like a man when you push her around", were they proud of themselves (her parents) when they told her she was helpless? "I've finally had enough", she ran away and proved them wrong.
@1995Tim In more details, when you move the earth vibrates, and Toph can sense this vibrations with her feet, and this way she see, and thats why in one of the episods when Aain and Thop fighted Aain won becose he airbend and he moved with making minimun contact with the ground (he onle step on the grund when he stoped moving from pne place to another).
It's not just the fact that's she's an awesome fighter and earthbender. It's also the fact that she's confident and strong willed. Also she has a good sense of humor, even about things most people probably wouldn't joke about, like being blind. All these qualities make up an all around good person.
Toph is by far the greatest girl EVER. She is strong, she can bend metal to her will, she is a tom-boy (Always a good feature), she doesn't take sh*t from anyone, she doesn't care what you look like, and even when she is wearing fancy clothes she can pull it off. (Even if she is a tom-boy).

Are you kidding? The series already said that earth and air is polar opposites, they would not be compatible. Plus Sokka is so much more fallible then aang, therefore creating that lively interaction with Toph, that we all, okay well maybe some, no I take that back, the majority of fans love so much.
