For Celeste, the girl who got burned, she didn't do that because she wanted to be artsy. She's known as the greatest liar in the world, claiming she can even fool herself. But the protagonist, Makoto, can even see through a lie too great for even her: that she isn't afraid of dying. The world's greatest liar is smiling because she's trying to lie to herself that she isn't scared... and the sweat and eye movements show that even for her, she couldn't lie about it.

It does have a little to do with the artsy ascetic considering she killed to be like English royalty because she wanted everything in her life to be extravagant so going from the extravagant burning death only for her to be killed in one of the most common ways is meant to give her the despair of knowing she would never be as special as she wanted shes not Celestia Ludenberg just Taeko Yasuhiro.

Tons of factors to her character, such as the desire for vampire butlers, the medieval castle, the gothic lolita look, her worst day being the day her dress was almost permanently stained, and many of the gifts she likes being themed around longevity and never aging (this is just scratching the surface mind you), and it becomes clear her entire dream is her doing her best to avoid change and aging, or in other words, endings. So as you can imagine, being stuck in a place where her life could suddenly end at any moment drove her to near insanity, and here is where she has to accept her fate

They really forgot 3 whole executions 😭 The one at the very beginning where their principal gets sent to space, and the two at the second to last trial.
Only one died in the second to last trial. And that’s the bad ending
Kyoko getting executed is the bad ending and Naegi getting executed is the good ending because he survives thanks to Alter Ego
So basically the difference between the anime and the game is that the anime is basically the cliff notes/summary version of the game, focusing on the major plot points of the game.
Also when it comes to the executions not only are they based on the person’s talent it’s also making fun of them and made to give them the most despair as possible on a personal level
The biggest thing about playing the game is actually having time with getting to know the characters and learn more about them. Would be cool to see you replay DR1!

Watching the anime honestly made me realize how long the class trials are in-game, and this is just DR1, there were no trial intermissions (except for Chapter 2)
What's a 15 minute trial in the anime is an hour and a half in the game, and the best part is you probably won't even feel how long it is.
It really does sound like it's worth playing then in that case!

So the thing with Celeste (the goth chick) was that she mentions that if she did die she would want to go out in a way so that people would always talk about it and remember it. Monokuma however never gives them the satisfaction so when it came to her execution he made her think she was going out like a witch and being burned at the stake when right at the last minute she gets hit by a vehicle and killed. Which is one of the most common ways that somebody can die. So because of that she wasn't special in the end
If you don’t play the first game I suggest at least watching/reading a recap of it before the playing the second. Since you kinda know the bare bones I suggest going this route cause the sequel games game mechanics improve and it’d be a pain having to go through the roundabout of game 1 when you know the answer

6:26 Idk if anyone's already explained but no, THH only has one storyline and ending, along with an extra scenario during ch5 that leads to a vision of a possible ending. Even if you choose that scenario, you will still be directed back into making the canon choice.
The BDAs shown here are in chronological order. They're placed like this as part of the murder plan- the 1st victim is meant to be found first, the 2nd found afterwards, then later on in the investigation the culprit moves both the bodies so they are found together.
As someone who watched the anime before seeing ANY of the games, I would still recommend playing the 1st game. At the time when I watched the anime, DR1 still never got an official release yet in the west. A Korean group made a fan translation of the 1st girl and I saw an LP of that. Of course DR1 is here now. Ironically it got released in the west at the same time DR2 got released. The game gives a LOT more char interaction so if you enjoyed the anime, you'll love the game.

The reason why the burning girl was smiling is that she wanted to go out in a unique way (such as being burned alive) but monokuma hit her (no pun intended) with the COMMON DEATH

Pretty much it; She's fascinated by weird things and kind of the alt aesthetic, and she wanted to go in an artistic way, something's that not ordinary, she always wanted to stand out of the normal, and her execution makes fun of what, making her think that she'll be burned like a witch, and then running her over with a truck, that it's a pretty common way of dying
You should play the first game. Theres A LOT in the game thats missing in the anime. You should also play the others too and watch the other anime if you’re into the first.
i suggest you play the first game to provide context to these deaths. it’s a great game in general and given the opportunity you’ll be missing out if you don’t. plus is a long(ish) game so you’ll collect some decent views by the end of your play through.
He needs to watch the other executions, specially the ones from killing harmony, kaede is really deep for me, and the one from the lady (I always forget her name, but its the maid who the whole fandon say has the worst execution)

@@ChocolateKieran the bad ending is included in this, two of the characters, including the main character gets accused of the final murder before Junko (the real one) was revealed.
Both had the same executions, two different outcomes, one leads to a bad ending. (Suggest watching Kyoko's first before Makoto's for better understanding)
The Junko that dies at the beginning of the game is actually Mukuro Junko's Sister

you compared it to Saw having never seen Saw, i’m gonna say… most Saw traps are designed to be survivable at certain costs , while the DR executions are made to kill the person there with no chance of escape or surviving 👍

1. danganronpa trigger happy havoc
2. super danganronpa 2: goodbye despair
3. danganronpa another episode: ultra despair girls
4. new danganronpa v3: killing harmony
She made herself no but acident survaving evry exections
To any other comment, it is worth adding, about Celeste(lets go with that name), that *she collected whole money to build ghotic style castle full of HOT GUYS* , which was also her GREATEST wish. 🤷🏻♀️
So Monokuma putting her in 'castle' was irony. Same like bike for Mondo, or baseball for Leon... And others death. Junko surely came with death scenario, that she found funny, just in case. To, you know, keep audience attention. Also, for them being suppousedly ULTIMATE HOPE, she probably found it funny to even show people, their hobbies, dreams, aspirations... All will turn against them. As she is, after all ULTIMATE DESPAIR (I will never accept 3rd as nothing, but lie).

Kk so I wouldnt move to the second game if I were you because the first danganronpa game holds a ton of lore for the second game and anime (Danganronpa 3 the anime) so play the game as it clears up the confusion that you had about the deaths and about the characters.
I’d play the second game, the anime is kinda the same and the first game is boring but it picks up SO MUCH with the second game and it is way better

@@ChocolateKieran Well it's more like the game includes everything the anime has, but the anime doesn't include everything in the game. The deaths, executions and lore are the same but the anime cuts out some of the gameplay.
Also to make Dr2 make more sense I suggest watching Dr3 (The anime) after dr2 if you play it!

Hello! If you do get into the games, I noticed you called it a trilogy, which isn't... strictly accurate.
Danganronpa has a few games: Danganronpa 1: Trigger Happy Havoc, Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, and New Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, plus Danganronpa S: Ultimate Sumercamp.
But... That's not all there is to danganronpa. There's also a lot of other entries that aren't games, the most notable to understand the story (imo) being Danganronpa Zero and Danganronpa IF, as well as the Danganronpa 3 anime.
The correct order is DR1, SDR2, DR0, DR:IF, DR:AE, and then V3. It's also important to note that V3 was marketed as being in a different universe than the rest of the DR games, though I should note that DR can and has lied in the marketting before, and it is a spoiler whether it is actually a seperate universe or not. But it is intended for you to go into it assuming it's a different universe.
Danganronpa S is based on a bonus mode of DRV3 (and I do recommend doing the bonus modes after each of their respective games) called Ultimate Talent Development Plan, and it's an alternate universe where none of the bad things happened in DR. DRS, because of this, is not considered needed to understand the story, unlike DR0 and the DR3 anime.
There are even more spin offs, such as the Danganronpa: Kirigiri novels, the Danganronpa: Togami novels, a few manga series, Kirigiri: Sou, Danganronpa: Beautiful Days, ect etc etc. But I don't consider those necessary to understand the bulk of DR's story.
Edit: Forgot to mention! DR:IF comes with SDR2, and DR0 doesn’t have an offical translation (even though it is REQIURED reading to understand Junko Enoshima imo) but you can find fan translations online!
If he thinks THIS is bad, he shld check a couple of fanganronpas, mainly Super danganronpa another 1 and 2😂
