I have a set of Purist phase 6 darts that Taylor used back in the day when he was with Unicorn, i've had them for years, only problem with them is that they are only available in 25gms and i play with a similar set weighing at 22gms. I kept going back to the phase 6 darts because i really liked them, so in the end i got a set made by CMD and they are brilliant, love them to bits.
just seen how you throw your darts mate and one little nick is when your pulling back the dart and you're about to release, you slightly turn your wrist, causing the dart to drift elsewhere on the board. It is annoying to change at first but once you work on it consistently you will notice big improvement in your arrows :) Also keep it up mate great content 🎯🎯

I play with them almost religiously or small flights in general, pear and slim flights are kinda the big flights for me nowadays. I have to add tho that my throw is pretty loopy Barnefeld like and I release the dart pointing slightly downward so the small flights are the only one where the dart lands straight in the board.
I have a buying addiction, not to keep replacing my darts but just because I like the look of them 😂 I do plan on collecting all Phil Taylor Gen darts, will also be interesting to see how the coating holds up that set.
It's healthy to admit your addiction. That's your first step to recovery or your next step to adding to your collection! I'd love to have a framed darts wall but it would be thousands of pounds 😆💷

I think it is for good reason nobody really uses the blimp darts anymore, same with the Xmini flights.. the power made them look awesome obviously but they are not the most optimal dart setup for pretty much anybody.

Vapor S flights compared with Standard shape flights is not a quarter of the size. Vapor S flights have 21.2 cm² (all 8 surfaces together) and Standard shape flights have 43.4 cm². When it comes to the VAX your guess is closer: the Vapor S have a VAX of 1.4 (XS range) and the Standards a VAX of 4.3 (XL range).
Explaining you've spend more than 300 bucks on 3 sets of darts while throwing 15 and then 3 after 2 visits must really hurt down low 😅 Keep your chin up mate, we all started somewhere 💪
Taylor has been using those flights for years... Something that would help your throw look at the way your hand comes down after your release every time it seems to be different pay attention to your release you will do better playing for 36 years just trying to help
Not quite. He first used these flights in 2016, the last 2 years of his career, starting with the Gen 3 darts, a flight Target called the Vapor S flight (S being Small I assume). He previously used a larger flight from 2009-2015. Firstly in 2009 when he cut down his slim Unicorn flights at the 2009 Grand Slam, a flight Unicorn then sold under the DXM name I believe and when he switched to Target, the flight was simply called the Vapor flight which was made smaller for 2016 as mentioned before. I reckon it was a mistake to use the Vapor S flight as I used them along with the DXM and Vapors and found them great when I was on my game, they were incredible. However, they were very unforgiving and if I wasn’t on fire, these flights would spray a bit so I stuck with the larger Vapor flights for consistency and indeed, I thought Taylor was really inconsistent with this flight, especially in the last year of his career and even his last world championship, was very inconsistent and I believe he’d have won the world championship with the larger Vapor flight.
Taylor was famous for his flat/flite down dart position… hence his ability to stack them… don’t be too quick to disparage what doesn’t necessarily work well for you… Phil was reasonably good using that technique for 3 decades…
5:15 not a flight issue its a throw issue you are throwing and releasing the dart the same as you would with a stanard size flight on top of an inconsistant throw thats the problem
Thing is I have long forearms so to get my elbow level it would mean the dart starting position is way above my eye line but I'll keep that advice in mind. Thanks 👍🏻

For me one of the most ugliest darts ever, sorry, it is my aesthetic perception. And how they fly, even with normal flights, nothing special, only a little bit too fat sticking in the board. Really a lot of money, you have to pay, but for less money, you get such cute Target Luke-Littler-Darts Gen1, which surely will perform pretty well out of the box. But I think, they are too good for me, so I would put them in a glass cabinet.

@TheDartingPostie To old and to late for the practice,used to have a board in the spare bedroom,didn’t practice religiously but did do 2 to 3 hours a week don't even bother now,i just go to the pub on a Monday night have a few practice chucks at the board,then proceed to get beat if I'm picked.
