  • Bonnie Elizabeth Parker (1910-1934) and Clyde Chestnut Barrow (1909-1934) were American criminals, who robbed several banks and countless small stores between 1931 and May 23, 1934, when they were killed in an ambush by a posse of law enforcement officers. Bonnie and Clyde murdered 9 law enforcement officers, as well as many civilians. The sensational press coverage of their crime spree made them notoriously, but their popularity waned as their death toll grew.In February 1935, the Dallas Police Department and the FBI arrested and prosecuted 20 family members and friends of Bonnie and Clyde, for aiding and abetting their criminal activities. One of the defendants was Bonnie's sister, Billie Jean Parker, who was convicted and spent time in prison. In 1967, Arthur Penn directed the motion picture Bonnie and Clyde, starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. The movie romanticized the couple and introduced them to a new audience. Capitalizing on Bonnie & Clyde's new popularity, Felton Jarvis interviewed Billie Jean Parker, and RCA Victor released the interview on LP, accompanied by music from the film. I listened to the whole interview. Then I thought I would take a spin through the comments. And then it hit me. BILLIE & BONNIE. Billy The Kid once signed one of his letters to Lew Wallace "Billie", which struck me funny. And there you have it. Two famous outlaws, one famous name. Billie Bonnie. Coincidence or does history really repeat itself?

    FYI - this interview has been edited down in several spots for no good reason that I can see. At least a minute or two is missing. Not the worst thing in the world but still...

      Oh really, very interesting as I've always been consumed by the story and the times then. Just from old photos & video if I'd been alive to had ever met Bonnie & Billie Jean then there's no doubt I would have been smitten 🥰. They're voice's & appearance are as candy to my eyes 👀🤭🤣. Clyde indeed would had shot me 🥶 cold

      This tragic story became so sensationalized. The actual story is probably only a fraction of the sensational hype. So much of their inflated imaging was created by press coverage from the 1930s.

      So who ratted them out that resulted in a failed ambush? I suspicion Billy

    Clyde & Bonnie both had large close knit families they remained in touch with . Undoubtedly they were friendly and outgoing with their families and vice versa . So the various accounts of non involved relatives may well be mostly in line with their personal experiences in that context .
    But Billie Jean did leave out a few details , like Bonnie's Husband , who was then serving a long term in prison . And Clyde's pre Bonnie criminal endeavors included multiple car thefts and burglaries , not stealing hubcaps .
    After his release from prison , from most accounts , Clyde did briefly try to go straight , but was regularly a " Usual Suspect " for burglaries and car thefts . His notorious reputation preceeded him ...... In Dallas . The big what if , is what if he relocated out of Dallas , if not out of Texas ? He had a trade as a skilled glazer . He tried once taking a construction job in Massachusetts , but got homesick and came back .

    Obviously Billie Jean Parker would have been told where Bonnie and Clyde stayed with Henry Methven father to rest up, and how Bonnie and Clyde were framed my Henry and his dad right to the time of the ambush and killing of Bonnie and Clyde because she was not there, she was held in jail at the time.

    Just caught something I never did before.
    SHE was who told the cops where they would be November 21 1933..
    She's the only one that tells it slightly different. Marie tells it the same every time.

    • @sharoncarrier18
      @sharoncarrier18 Před měsícem

      It was Joe Bill Francis who told where they were going to be. He was Marie's husband and was with them.

      It wasn't Biilie Jean who told the cops it was Joe Bill Francis who was driving and who was Marie's husband. Fact. Billie Jean would never have told the law on her sister. Joe Bill didn't like Clyde.

    This woman is lieing because the law got all the guns in the car after they killed them. She claimed he didnt have automatic guns. Also i noticed by listening to her that she catches her own self telling different stories about the same thing.

      You might do research ur self. I listen to this at least 3 times a week due to just being a fan and intetested in it. Could be too ive noticed different news on maybe one site story than another news segment of another piece of news. There are many of news clips on this and thier own stories are told. One knows b&c.s relatives are gonna lie to make them look good. Just the same as people do today for thier friends or loved ones. Does this not prove it? B & C.s mothers both got in trouble for not reporting them. Wake up Riker

      You must be talking to J p Riker. I was defending your statement. In addition to Clyde's Browning Automatics the car was loaded with .45 cal. pistols which are also automatic. So I don't know how doing "in-depth research" would help to amend what you initially said. It's kind of a no brainer really.

      I'd be interested in hearing Blanche's story in her own words and voice. But I'm not going to shell out the money to do so. I'll wait until I can find her audio memoirs for free somewhere.
