Greetings River Finn Catchment Donegal. The instant that I saw your valley I saw trees and shrubs. If the valley was replanted with a permanent ley and then re-afforested with a poly culture, it could be an astounding habitat. I would bet that there are silted up holes in the river which would benefit by some excavation, easily done with man power and buckets. Do you have any organic wastes available? How would you describe the condition of the Finn? I am very interested in catchment rehabilitation and have many years experience in organic management. Your wonderful topography needs to be dressed - native fruits, flowering shrubs, pines and timber trees. You could make a paradise where you stand.

Ban salmon farming remove dams and stop set/gill nets. Stop farming of cattle near to rivers and streams and educate the public in what is really going on. It's that simple but extremely difficult. Love the work you do guys 😀

Are you monitoring the bio digester above Glenmore? If the residue from it is to be distributed within the catchment area on forestry and so forth how do you prevent it from entering the river system and damaging the river, insects, invertebrates and the food chain for juvenile salmon?
