My first week living in Sweden! Join me as I move from Montreal to the quaint city of Lund, explore the town, start classes and go out with new friends. On the weekend, my friends and I went on a quick trip to Copenhagen where we visited museums, ate delicious food, went to a rave, and reconnected with my cousin! It was truly a monumental week for me as I began my exchange journey and I am thrilled to be sharing my experience with you :)
Love,
Dre
I’m Swedish but it’s so interesting to see Sweden from an “outsider’s” perspective 😍
It's called Swedistan now :)
Exactly! And so refreshing, instead of getting the negative homegrown peoples opinions shoved down your throat. 👆
@@guffeluffe5987 Bro, your legit 8 years late on that trend.
This is so Swedish as all the videos made about Sweden gets most views from Swedes.
@@p12anjacobmlgnoscoper86 8 years late? Sweden are having records level of violence this year. On a european scale.
The star shaped lamps is tradition all over Scandinavia and probably western Europe, if not all. Here in Norway, most people aren’t religious and so this is just a common Xmas decoration.
yes, same in sweden, i didnt even know it was a thing for lucia
It's the star of Betlehem. It's not all over western Europe.
@@forturet4115 got nothing to do with Lucia. It's the Star of Betlehem.
The stars in the windows have nothing with lucia to do!
It is Advent. It is German tradition from the beginning!
Welcome to Sweden! Lund is my old uni town and it’s amazing. Trust me; just wait until spring and summer arrives. It’s SO much nicer!! Key is also to join the right nation (Malmö Nation is the best!). Have fun 🙌🏻
Malmö Nation is the worst nation in Lund, what the hell are you talking about. Just a bunch of daddy's money.
yess im so excited for the warm weather to come! and I agree I love the nations!
In hindi(Indian language )lu*d means d!ck ☠️ now translate your sentences and her video☠️
Malmö nation is just full of racists
Wonderfully well edited. Look forward to more. Good luck with both your studies and your life in Sweden! 🌞
I’m studying abroad in Lund next year!! Glad I came across your video while researching what’s around the area. It was suppeeerrr useful. Can’t wait to go to Sweden next school year. Your video really got me excited 😁
I'm so nostalgic about Lund University it was such a magical experience.
lol
Loved this video, so interesting to see Sweden from an abroad student's perspective, really makes me value it!
Ohh wow you move from Montreal to Lund, what a big step o so brave, that really inspires me!!😍 And so nice to see Sweden or Lund in your new perspective, I have live my whole life in Stockholm and it's so easy to forget to appreciate the city where you live, thank you for that!! 🙏 And please keep uploadning vlogs and content, loved this vlog🫶🏼
Aww I’m glad you enjoyed it! I agree that it’s easy to forget the simple beauties of the place that you live in because it just feels normal after some time… but I hope to upload more videos that highlight the charming city of Lund 💕
Welcome, Lund is so beautiful! You gonna love it here
Dont stop for us and for yourself, your mind can only hold so mutch and this videos is a joy for us to watch and a good way to store your memories.

I’ve lived in Lund my whole life and I grew up here, very interesting seeing someone’s first time reaction hahah

Ahh amazing to see you enjoy Lund! I currently study in Alnarp, close to Lund! It is so magical studying here in Sweden :)
@My R Are you studying architecture?
I considered applying to Lund but didn't go! Love to see what it's like :) Malmo and Copenhagen are super cute! Loved visiting them!
Hope you enjoy it all and manage to break to all Swedish social barriers :D
This brings back some memories. Lund Uni is my university and I was studying there until January when I moved to Gothenburg to do an internship for my master thesis. Will come back in June when it is (hopefully) summer. I recommend you two eating places Lundafalafel and Africa market.
Välkommen till Sverige/Skåne och Lund ❤ Glöm inte den stora festen i Stadsparken den siste april ( Sveriges kung fyller även år denna dag 🎉❤
Welcome to my home city! Glad you like it, then of course most do.
One little correction: In winter the sun sets as _late_ as 3:35 in Lund. After all, it IS in the far south of Sweden! In Stockholm, it sets at 2:47 pm at the winter solstice.
Good god… for what months? That will be an adjustment 😂
@@j-vic07 Well, those times are for the winter solstice. For the summer solstice, the sun sets at 21:56 (daylight saving time) in Lund and at 22:09 in Stockholm, being further east. Ofc, in Lund it does get completely dark in the middle of the night in summer, in Stockholm it does not.
i think she meant as early as because she isn’t used to having the sun set so early (compared to other counties, 3:35 is very early)
@@barbarasanchez2398 Yes, of course she did, I understand that. I was just giving her the Swedish perspective.
Wow! Hope you'll have a great time over here! Just around Lund there are lots of places well worth a visit 😀
Love your way of story telling. Beautiful
can't wait for the upcoming vlogs❤
Great video! I also live in Lund & its so nice to see it through your lense! 🤩🌸
Congratulations on being able to both study and live in Lund! I´ve heard from a relative, who´s got a friend who introduces foreign students to their studies in Lund, that the foreign students are very excited before they know about the most common solution: They study in Lund but have to live in Eslöv, 10 - 14 minutes by commuting train from Lund. Eslöv has also been said to be the most boring town in the area...
Welcome to Lund … hope you’ll have a lovely time. Seems like you made a good start.
hi, nice to meet you in this channel. I learnt a lot from your video how to life in Sweden and learnt how to use some idioms because you speak English fluently. hope you have a great exchange classes and thanks for you insightfull perspectives 🙂
I love the camera work, the editing, the narration, well... everything!
thank you so much!!
I follow u on Tiktok and I'm so glad that you're making long vlogs on CZcams. Please make more of them :)
AWW im so happy to hear! I will definitely be making more :)
Kul! Tack för videon!
Välkommen 🤓☕
Wonderful to see people experience Sweden for the first time, and i thank you for sharing it. I hope you will have the best time ever, and that you get to have a perfect Swedish summer. You have so much to look forward to and to see, and if the Vikings interested you, look up Birka and a trip there to see how we lived back in the good ol days. Again, thank you for sharing...och ha en jättefin dag 🤓☕
Lund is my home town and it’s always so weird so see all of the places I see daily from other’s perspective😭❤️
@@sarahbradshaw3699 I dont live there , but they dont pop up on the news like Malmö or the other bigger cities (crime) , so I would say yes.
Could argue most people are friendly even in the worse off cities , beware pick-pocketing though , that usually skyrise during summer times due to the invasion of German tourists in Sweden.
hi andrea, i found ur vlogs cause i was just missing lund that used to be my home few years a go. i realllyyyy love the way you film everything & telling us ur activities. u really remind me to enjoy and cheer life more. i hope you can post more videos in the future :)
thank you :))
You really moved here at a great time. The winters can be pretty boring and depressing but the spring and summer is the opposite, they are amazing. People come out of their shells, are full of life and happiness. Great weather and very long days so everyone is outside doing things.
im super excited for spring and summer!
Good luck! I am sure you'll do great! 👍

*New* friends is challenging in Scandinavian culture.
Try to find shared activities where you have a pretext to talk.
While other exchange students will be easy to connect with locals may take more effort then you are used to on average in order to get a friendship.
But it's absolutely doable.
I liked your vlog and the honesty in it
welcome to my home town! hope your experience is fullfilling hihiihih
How cute are you listening to Tim Maia! 😍
Welcome to Sweden! ❤

Welcome to Lund :)
My big sister lives in Lund, welcome to Sweden 😃
I have been dreaming about this. Literally and figuratively. I’ve never been abroad so my heart just keeps telling me “Scandinavia” but whenever I research, I very instinctively look into Sweden. I want to take the leap so bad! Thanks for the video :)
