Box Opening...Gone Wrong. The First Time I've Truly Been Disappointed in a Baby I've Received.

- This is not a traditional box opening. I was extremely disappointed in this baby, for reasons I explain in the video. In the end, I've decided that she IS staying, I will just be having her fixed up.
I’m 12 and I love reborns, I have 3. 2 of them are not even real reborns so I know how you are feeling. This behavior for fake reborn sellers is completely unacceptable! I hope you get her fixed up ❤️
Ya I'm 11 and love reborns people usually think people my age wouldn't treat a reborn probably but I would I am getting a reborn soon for my confirmation im so sorry this happened to you these fake reborn sellers need to be stopped!

I bought a Saskia from Mercari about a month ago. I completed the transaction and later that day... her paint was coming off... her leg fell off... then her head fell off. I paid $300 for her. I let the seller know everything and all she could say was “sorry”. Makes it hard to trust pictures. Her creases were horrible as well!!

I heard about mercari. That seller is Scamming alot of people and Saskia is by Bonnie Brown and that is illegal to copy someone else work. People are saying Bonnie Brown is quitting because of Scammers copying her work. Mercari is from China I believe and they like to play dirty.

That ‘artist’ is not an artist. You deserve to be upset, but don’t worry, bad things happen for a reason, you will get the perfect reborn doll soon.
I’m so sorry that happened to you! Reborns are most definitely not cheap and if it’s not up to your standards you have every right to be upset because you are spending your hard earned money to buy it.
I’m sorry if you said this and I just didn’t catch it in the video, where did you order her from?
I found her on Mercari, but ended up handling the transaction through PayPal because I paid in two payments. I did use Goods and Services though, so I've filed a claim for a partial refund, so I can use that money to have her repairs done.

I know what you mean. I wouldn't consider her a scam, necessarily, because it is an authentic Saskia with CoA. But the "artist" just did a really crap job. I was able to get half of my money back through a PayPal claim due to the item not being as described, so at least now I have the money to pay for her legs to be stripped and repainted.
Rainbow Reborn Mommies this is unacceptable this looks like a doll you can get at target for like 20 bucks I am but here is a trusted site that works for me I got it off from another CZcams or it’s called reborn.com and I haven’t use this because I’m getting my Christmas money and I’m saving up but lots of the baby’s are adopted

I was scammed over a Saskia too...it broke my heart and I’d wanted a Saskia for ever and now, I cannot even look at this sculpt anymore. I’m sorry...I wish you well...
I know this was three years ago but I got a Saskia off ebay and it had similar issues, I ended up practically giving it away. I don't think I'd ever attempt to buy a Saskia again.

You should of returned her that is just crazy!! The painting on her legs you can tell don't go with her arms and head. That is a lot of money to just throw away and to be honest it would be cheaper to buy the kit and have it painted then to fix her.
Boy, that was some shoddy work. I can well understand your upset. The face is good though..I just can't get over the "zip tie" thing.

Could you of sealed the hair then maybe get the knots out after it was sealed or did it already have patches of lost hair?
It came out with me just trying to move it into place with my fingers. Plus it had random black hairs all throughout the blonde, so I wouldn't have wanted to keep it. I don't mind her bald, but dang, when you spend this much on a baby, you don't expect stuff like this. Lol

My 1st Reborn was $350 from ebay. I don't remember the scuplt but I was Scammed Big time by someone from Australia. The hairline was further back than in the photos and the hair was glued on. The forehead was more wrinkled in person like an Old Lady. She was not a full vinyl body as described, instead she was 3/4 limbs. Was not weighed either plus she was Very floppy. She had no weight to her head and she didn't take her magnetic Pacifier. Only good thing was the eyes were beautiful and so was the painting but with all the other flaws I eventually tossed her out. Now I finally decided once again to get another Reborn. This time I got from Etsy and made sure the artist was from right here in USA. I got my Saskia by Bonnie Brown. She weighs 8 lbs and I Love everything about her. The weight, the painting etc. She cost $879+50 shipping= $ 929 was well worth it. Sometimes we get what we pay for and I learned the hard way. It's been just about 2 years now and I couldn't be happier. Oh the artist from Etsy sent lots of photos and kept in touch all through the reborning process.
I’m so sorry you had to go through this. My two babies from Mercari were beautiful and I’m not happy you had to pay such an exorbitant adoption fee for s bad baby. Both of mine were $200 each or slightly lower with tax and ship included. I don’t spend more than that on Mercari for this reason In particular. I’m so so so sorry.
This baby looks a little scary. It’s disturbing that you can spend all this money and there’s nothing you can do if you’re scammed. Shameful!
Oh my goodness not acceptable at all to pay that price...I have a saskia, she was full vinyl but I put cloth body on her, first doll I bought and I didn't know much about China stealing artists sculpts at that time or I wouldn't have bought her but fortunately she is a pretty doll and I didn't pay much for her, only 53$

sorry you were disappointed in this baby, but I agree, keep her, she's adorable anyway. I too am in love love love with this sculpt. I just ordered my 9th saskia, that's how much I love them.

I buy dolls in person or higher up stores Ashton Drake and they are returnable up to a year Can make payments no interest This is so disappointing and too much money I would out the seller to stop her scam as much as possible

I totally feel you! I got scammed from a reborn site called Reborn doll shoppe. The baby I received looked NOTHING like the picture. He was a greenish color and had a very unrealistic wig. He was also HUGE and came with nothing inside the box. I honestly was VERY disappointed. Now my duty is to spread the word so people like me and you don't waste our money on scams. God bless.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I am a new artist, I rooted my Maddie kit and have not sealed her hair yet because my hands are weak and I can only root her a little at a time and not one hair had come out yet in 3 months. Some people do not know how to reborn. Always ask for a picture with the artists name and date next to the doll, because anyone can steal photos.

This was an "artist" made doll. I would never ever purchase from a factory. Mercari (where I purchased the baby from) is a resale type of site where a lot of people sell reborns. This baby looked nothing like the photos she had posted. Even the safety photo. Thankfully I was able to file a claim through PayPal and get a partial refund.
Hi I have just watched this film and I think I must be in the minority I do not wish to offend but you did appear to be pulling at the hair and granted if glued it may have been harder but sering I've not tried to pull any of my own reborns hair out I wouldn't truly know but I just didn't see what you saw regarding her hair, to me it just looked messy due to delivery and not matted as you said.
Also you didn't show her legs like when you shown her feet you did afterwards when you had taken the doll apart.
I do think if you are not happy with a doll it needs to be said at the box openings because it could give rise to to artist saying that you trashed the doll. And no I'm not saying that you did. You did say you didn't want to show your disappointment ok that's cool but you do need to name what's actually wrong. God bless you
