The TRULY mind-blowing part is this is an instrumental song. There are no words, just notes for an orchestra.
So naturally, a vocal group nails it.
This is an orchestral piece from Tchaikovsky. PTX did it without instruments just their sublime voices. Avi gets to show of his Operatic training as a Basso Profundo. the visual editiing is brilliant. Can't tell you how much I enjoy your 'reactions' this was me when I first viewed this too. lol ..bewilderingly awesome...
Fellow Pentaholics, Is he ready for Star Vista Telephone or Aha yet? If you do watch Star Vista Aha, keep in mind Kevin IS there, he is putting away his cello at the beginning and standing on the other side of Scott during the song, just does not show him.
He's close...but I always suggest that reactors watch the official video first AND the Star Vista video. Some are now reacting to both in the same reaction video.

Yes!!!!!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! I've never seen anyone react to it and it puzzles me. One of my all time PTX faves. It's on my playlist for happy days. So uplifting! If you do check it out, take notice of Avi making overtone sound effects at the same time as he hits some crazy low notes! Totally mindblowing!

I checked all of your reactions and you have missed someone very special, I am a confirmed Pentaholic, overlooking the reactions to the “best singer in the world “, yeah right???? Didn’t waste my time, what a dummy, he is incredible, finding actual words to describe him are so difficult. Please, please I am begging you to react to Dimash, please start with SOS, from the Singer competition in China, reason being, this audition made him famous overnight, after that the Dimash Dears , what he calls his fans, will lead you down this amazing journey of this young singer. Genre, pop, opera, rap you name it. Amazing vocal storyteller with a heart of gold ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Christmas with Pentatonix is amazing. Both the religious and the fun songs are great.
A couple of recommendtions that fit with the same tone as this one... kinda halloweeny/creepy christmas (and awesome editing too):
- "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Making Christmas".
The Sound Of Silence, Disturbed did a mind blowing cover of this, but I think PTX was over the top... The Christmas albums they do are great, but you must do 'Little Drummer Boy' & 'Mary, Do You Know', I promise you won't be disappointed!

A good one for an Avi/Mitch slap. Aha-Singapore Star Vista
I highly recommend the Aha singapore live. It's a live recording from a concert of theirs. Mitch went above and beyond and it's often regarded as their best performance ever.
"Aha" in Singapore (really showcases Mitch & Avi), also Mitch singing solo "Your Power" , "Silent Night" , super fruit "Feeling Myself" if you want to hear how good at rapping mitch is. There's so many great ones! Theme song to Star Wars. I'm sure I'll think of more!
"Be my Eyes", "Love me when I don't". I believe (don't quote me though) these are both originals.
You could check out their appearance at the AMA Star Wars Tribute, it's a little gem, and I also think Come Along is something different, the list is never ending.
Though Mitch has quite a moment in this, hope you'll rewatch and focus on Avi's varied bass tones. This is one of the songs where he gives you a glimpse into his operatic training. Love him!!

Only PTX could win a Grammy as a vocal group by performing an instrumental piece with no instruments.
Incidentally, they couldn't win 15 Grammys because the Grammys had to CREATE a category for them. What they do is so special that they couldn't be slotted into one of the existing categories.
Yep, Mitch has another Mitch-Slap moment. That high note - and Avi's ending low note - give you a hint of their range.

And their version of 12 days of Christmas is fun probably my favorite version and not what you expect. Grinch Is really good and matt takes the lead and knocks it out the park. Or I also recommend dream, or break my heart. Come along, or new rules x are you that somebody. Or their original love again (those get overlooked) and they are really good. Probably my favorite of theirs

They're some of my favorites you named, three more that are my favorites and not played very often is Can't Hold Us , Come Along and Valentine. They're all very different and show how diverse they are in music of pretty much any kind.

I've heard that the Grammys actually had to recreate a category to give them this award - Instrumental Without Instruments, or something like that! It is so unique and perfect - every voice so critically placed. Looking forward to more. If you haven't, check out their third Grammy winner - Jolene with Dolly Parton. There is a version with Miley Cyrus, but the official video with just Dolly and PTX is the one that won the Grammy.

Hiya. There had been a category for "best arrangement, a capella or instrumental"; then a capella was dropped from the category and it was just "best arrangement, instrumental" for a number of years; then a capella was added back in. The first two years after that change, PTX won that category.

I am happy you reacted to the pearl of musical classics.The "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" is a dance for a ballerina, the third movement in ballet The Nutcracker, music written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. And PTX have done a superb job ... they are unbeatable! No lyrics, just music - it’s true, I couldn’t agree more with you; it would be hard to find more talented singers in the world.
Oh, I forgot in my previous comment - listen to their rendition of the song MAD WORLD. You will love it.

This is indeed amazing. VoicePlay did a very good video with I Will Survive which they made during lockdown when they had to comply with social distancing, so each member was recorded and filmed separately then put together in edit. Geoff Castallucci does a lot in his own videos, using clones of himself as a backing group.
I love it when "reactors" admit that they have become Pentaholics. It's near impossible not to.
I also recommend listening to Austin Brown from Home Free covering Unchained Melody with acoustic guitar. He's amazing. Beautiful rendition.

My favorite often overlooked PTX songs (with videos) are Making Christmas, Away in the Manger, White Winter Hymnal, Happy Now, and My Favorite Things. Plus ANY song that doesn't have an official video with it...so many reactors miss absolute GEMS because there aren't official videos or really good recorded live videos (like Cologne, Despacito X Shape of You, Rose Gold, Natural Disaster, Bored, Never Gonna Cry Again, or O Come Emmanuel).

Lesser reacted to older song Valentine or Papaoutai (in French but fabulous). The dynamic is phenomenal on both. Lesser reacted to Superfruit that are faves Goodbye From Lonely or Imaginary Parties. The ingenious thing is: the editing is basically possible with any good program. But a lot of work. Green screen, many many many keyframes and a lot of patience... very innovative... You don't need large sums of money to make a good video.
