  • What was the problem I faced in scrutineering at the #slotcar #worldchampionships ?
    In this video I explain an issue I encountered during technical inspection and how I was able to fix the problem.

    Very detailed and clear video James 👍
    It was indeed an awesome ISRA World Championship in Latvia 🇱🇻!
    I had to record the emotions of Luca and Piero and to be honest I was also pretty excited and emotional watching my friends win the race.

    Well done James. Always make sure your co-driver is faster than you. Ive always used that as good team tactic. 😁🤣

    Hello. You have great videos. I'm constantly watching. Here I have a question about the slider. The slider guides themselves have a very interesting shape. Is he purposely so sharpened? Or does it happen during the race? Well, that is, he himself eventually wears off and becomes like this?

    • @CleaveTech
      @CleaveTech  Před rokem

      The guide is designed to be that shape. It is supposed to be aerodynamic down the straights and help with smooth cornering.
      Guides do wear during races but with a straight guide most wear occurs at the rear of the guide and with one of these aerodynamic guides the wear occurs around the area below the guide post.

      I'm sorry, but I forgot to congratulate you on the prize. Congratulations. This is a great achievement !!! Thanks for the reply. I'll try the same.

    Wish I could race again but a track is 100 miles from home. Too much driving to practice and race

    Mr James : Hi I am From Indonesia. Do You Know About Mini Yonku/Mini 4 Wd That More Populer In East Asia And South East Asia?

    • @CleaveTech
      @CleaveTech  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching. I know what they are and I know they are extremely popular but I have not had any experience with them except with Tamiya versions when I was a child.

    When would you narrow the tire, if you could?

    • @CleaveTech
      @CleaveTech  Před rokem

      If the car was very slow down the straights and had a lot of grip I would consider narrowing the tyres to reduce drag. The tyres are likely to wear faster when they are narrower though.

      @@ronthornton2583 sure they dont

    • @CleaveTech
      @CleaveTech  Před rokem

      The front edges of the chassis do touch the track when cornering but if it is set up correctly, they should hardly drag on the straights. The lower front edges of this chassis are slightly rounded by the punching process so they don’t damage the track.

    • @ksmith1298
      @ksmith1298 Před rokem +1

      @@CleaveTech the chassis should never touch the track...but since track clearance rules are largely ignored anymore...the car shown is what you get.

    • @CleaveTech
      @CleaveTech  Před rokem

      @@ksmith1298 For ISRA racing, you have to start the race with 0.8mm clearance under the chassis at the rear.
      The chassis do not damage the tracks as the tracks are generally very flat.
      If I was racing on a banked track, then it would make sense to run more clearance under the front of the car.
