Same as David platt. Came to us after his best days but was still quality. We've had some good players at the Arsenal
A shame he was at highbury for only 1 season, very good player.
Unfortunately, he got few minutes in Arsenal, he was in good shape for the national team, and he did a lot at that time.
He worked miracles, he was not a striker who waited to put his foot down and score a goal, he did many times the impossible for many players in football. SUKER was a phenomenon, today, after so much time, nobody in the national team is even close to SUKER.He scored incredible goals, I'm talking about goals that he himself created with his ability, maybe he is the record holder for that.Look at SUKER's goals for Sevilla, Croatia and Real Madrid and decide for yourself what kind of phenomenon it is.❤
I agree. When he was younger, Suker used to score goals that I thought was impossible for most strikers to even imagine.
Suker was a superb finisher but is underrated on his first touch and vision. After the 98;World Cup his decline was pretty fast. He didn’t take care of his body anymore. By 32 he was pretty much done
Been waiting on this one. I was too young to fully appreciate his quality but much appreciated Souster for giving us a glimpse. Silky baller.
He didn't get enough minutes for some reason. But his goals per minute ratio is better than Henry, Anelka or Wrightie. Suker was an absolutely phenomenal goalscorer.
There is lot nonsense debate happening about what is a world class player ..... this is how a world class player looks like. Gerrad ,Lampard & Scholes had not even half of the class of Suker.
He had a very good season with us and I couldn't understand why AW did not use him more. And why did AW let him go just after one season? AW should have started him in the UEFA cup final against Galatasaray!!
AW always made mistakes with his choices of players here and there. We could have 6, 7 or 8 EPL titles instead of just 3.

In pressure games Henry did seem to freeze alot in on on one situations with the goalkeeper. This was no better exemplified than in the Champions League final.

Definitely you could see his ability in moments but he was just past his prime, maybe just signed to bring some goals while henry developed.
Suker in his prime was a special player
